WITTON HAVE ANOTHER WINNER

Many of you may not know, but we have a new winner at Witton Albion!

Poker players gather every Thursday at the Social Club to play Texas Holdem Poker, as part of the NUTS POKER LEAGUE.

There are 4 seasons during the year, and players play for points in the league which lasts for the 3 months at a time. The points gained during a poker night get added together during the season in a league table, which can be viewed online at any time at the nutspokerleague.com website.

So what do you win? I hear some people ask?

a) The winner gets a very nice trophy to keep.

b) The top 25% in the league go forward to the Cheshire Regional Finals held at the Circus Casino in an all day event in Stoke. (there are over 500 regular players in Cheshire alone).

c) Anybody gaining over 5000 points in a season, can enter a ‘High Rollers Competition’ with cash prizes.

d) There is also another competition for the players who finish in the top 3 at there venue, again with cash prizes.

Last Sunday, Witton Albion had 6 representatives at the Regional Final in Stoke, out of 136 players that qualified. The top 20 players at the end of the day all received cash prizes, and the top 10 players gained entry into the National Finals.

I am glad to report that PAUL BRAY from Witton Albion won the event, along with about £700 of prize money, and a very nice trophy.

New players are always welcome, what ever your standard is. The regular players are very friendly, and would go out of their way to help newcomers and give them advice on the strength of hands, the etiquette of play, and how and when to make a bet.

Come on down and join in!

That’s good news, he must be feeling flush.
