WITTON RESERVES v MALPAS

WITTON RESERVES go into this weekends game (20th September) on the back of another defeat.
Having only picked up 1 league point in the 1st 4 games the Reserves now have 2 cup games to work things through.

As Manager I am using the up and coming cup games played in a Champions League style mini league to bring in
fresh faces to stake a place in our very new side.

The game is at Lostock Gralem 3pm K.O

Good luck bones keep putting the effort in and you will get there.

Thanks for your kind words. We got beaten 2-1 but the performance once again was very very good.

New signing Reece Coley continues to impress and we just have to polish off his raw edged and we have
a player on our hands. Unfortunately due to competition rules we were not able to play a few of our new signings
who were not registered 7 days prior to the game so they will make their debuts this weekend

Looking forward to seeing a few break though to first team, we could do with them just now !

Are the reserves still at home on Saturday vs Lostock at Lostock ? If Yes is it a 3pm KO if so might go down for that one !

Went to the reserve game at lostock and we lost 2-1 not a great game first half with quite a few mistakes from both teams, second half was much better and Witton were unluck to lose, lostock were an older and more experienced team and was probably the reason they won.

We blooded 2 new players yesterday in our 2-1 defeat to Lostock plus there were several players rested so I could have a look at others. On the whole I was pleased with the overall performance and but for the own goal we would have not been beaten. This game was in the J.A Walton Challenge Cup which is a champions league style competition and I use this to try new players and formations without conceding points.

I can now clearly state that I am beginning to settle my squad down and with 35 players signed on 9 including some 1st team players), I am now in a position to start to reduce the numbers without reducing the quality. I will this week be informing 3 players that they’re services are no longer required as they do not have the desired quality to push for our reserve team squad and as such are nowhere near our 1st team which has to be taken into consideration.

I hope that you all will continue to support the reserves as our 1st win is just round the corner and I am now excited about the players and the playing tactics we are working on in training.

Paul Jones
Reserve Team Manager

Where are you next Saturday Paul? Kings Lynn is a bit far :frowning:

Witton Albion Reserves are at home to Winnington Reserves in the Mid-Cheshire District FA Cup.

GE

I’m working Saturday night so I won’t be going to kings Lynn so I might come for a nosy.

I’ve heard the Reserves are playing 1874 in the Mid Cheshire Cup, does anyone know the date and venue?

We actually play BARNTON in the MID CHESHIRE SENIOR CUP which is scheduled for WEDNESDAY 22ND OCTOBER (KO Time TBC).

This should be a mixture of some 1st team players but mainly reserves as ive been informed and will be a HOME FIXTURE for us in the stadium.
