I think the defence is very good, matt, anthony and ben, boothy plus glover are great and matt wooley has done no wrong either, would like to see ben playing the last man not boothy bens cover ability is better imo, lets put this one away now and get behind the lads for the curzon game a good following like Droylesden we will need a good display, a bit of luck and the fans out singing them.
I think, in the absence of Clampitt at the moment, that the midfield role should go to Matt Woolley. Matt has played extremely well as an emergency right back this season but is very much an accomplished midfielder. His pass through to Titch against Stafford last Wednesday was brilliant.
Really gutted about this. So much so my Mrs has been getting on at me all weekend about being more miserable than normal!! I kind of did have feeling when I rolled up on Saturday that we might struggle as Lairds seem to have improved in recent games. They did to us what we have been doing to teams all season. They had tremendous work rate and were very quick in midfeild and up front while we were short in these areas through the injuries. No excuses though Lairds were better than us on the day and its really just a question of how long they can hang on to the loan players is it 3 months so that they can inflict defeats on our rivals??
What it does highlight to me and we’ve struggled all season with this is the defending of set pieces. No one seems to attack the ball when its in the air. Someone needs to do this and I guess its something for our management team to work on hopefully now we are only playing 1 match a week.
We are also not to brilliant at attacking set pieces either I’m thinking on corners probably due to our lack of height but we seem to do too many short corners which shows we are worried that we can’t win the ball in the air. This is meant to be constructive and I know Mose has taken this on board when I’ve spoken to him about this. Not an awful lot we can do as we suddenly can’t makes ourselves a big team and I wouldn’t swap any of our lads. So I guess the only thing to do is work on this in training and I’m sure our guys will, now there is a bit of time in the week!!
We are missing Liam, Ollie and Ged Clampett and the team has been disjointed by injuries in recent weeks so lets hope that the guys react next Saturday by getting something at Curzon!!
It won’t be for the want of trying.
Pritch was really gutted after Saturdays game which to me just illustrated how much he cares about the club and us fans. The only thing I’d say is not to panic over this result but do lets work on things and learn from it. Onward and Upward with PRICHMOSEDEEL RED ARMY!!
I doubt pritch ever thought it would be easy, and imo he is well ahead of schedule in the quality he is delivering to the fans, he also has great team around him to learn from.
Pritch will make a great manager, he may already be one but now he knows how injuries, suspensions, bad decisions etc can ruin the best laid plans, ask Harry Redknapp!!
WHS.
yes it was a bad result on saturday, but it wasn’t for the want of effort, cos the team gave 110%. so we just have to put it down to experience and get on with the job in hand. that is to get a result at curzon, which this team is more than capable of doing. so come on you reds get the promotion push back on track. come on witton.
