Anyone spot any famous faces with the City team last night?
yes my old mate Alex Gibson, still in charge of a very impressive City Acadamy side. Alex, for our younger viewers was a member of a very good Albion side of the late 70’s and was nicknamed splinter arse, because he sat on the bench for something like 30 odd games in one particular season, those were the days of one sub, never moaned always gave 100% and a smashing bloke as well.
Good news- after having x-rays Chris Royle has only severe bruising on his foot and should be back in a week or two.

ALEX Gibson says it was a pleasure to play Albion.
The Manchester City Academy coach was impressed with Witton’s style of play during their 2-2 draw on Wednesday, according to boss Jim Vince.
"I spoke to Alex after the game and he was very complimentary," Vince told the Guardian today, Friday.
"He said they usually expect a direct style from non league teams as they try to get the ball forward as quickly as possible.
"It was nice to hear that he thought we kept the ball better than they did."
Adam Warlow and Dorryl Profitt scored in the last ten minutes to cancel out earlier goals by David Bell and Ian Daly.
Mark Peers almost snatched a victory for Witton, but his speculative shot crashed back off the post.
"I was pleased with our performance," added Vince.
He had more good news for Albion fans after learning that Chris Royle’s injury was not as serious as first feared.
The full back was carried from the field on a stretcher without touching the ball after tangling with City winger Donal McDermott.
Witton travel to Chorley tonight in their final pre season friendly, kick off 7.45pm.
See this week’s Northwich Guardian for a full season preview, including an interview with Jim Vince.
Hope the game was great, the sun in gerona is amazing!! ;D
