The first goal must go down as the most colourful of the season, BROWNhill to BROWN who crosses for BROWN to score. Well done the lads
just got back from the game, great solid team performance tonight. The pitch was great and a big thank you again to everyone who got the game on.
A great night match.
Tremendous support from the terraces throughout the 90 minutes and the players responded with a very professional performance. We looked dangerous from the off and our incisive attacking football got the reward it deserved. Three good finishes for the goals and we never looked vulnerable at the back. Despite Frickley’s carthorse defending no injuries picked up. Well done to the team and management.
Come on the Albion!!!
I agree it was a very solid performance, just one or two little scares before we got the second but nothing worth talking about. Must mention the gate. You all know I hate this league, tonight was typical, one lone Frickley fan shouting his heart out, the crowd of 454 must have contained 440 Wittoners. If we can get promotion our gates will double and think what Mr. Vince can do with that extra cash. Onwards and upwards!!!
WHS
Fantastic performance straight from first kick to last… couldnt ask for any more.
Well done Jim, Nige and the team.
Roll on Saturday for another 3 points no problem.
One other point. At one point in the game I was stood near three Wittoners, well I say Wittoners, because all they did was moan every time a Witton player made a mistake, the words they used were disgraceful, “cabbage” “idiot” one even said that Liam Brownhill never could pass a ball!!! What do they think they are watching, the Premier League? Our lads give everything they can, they make mistakes, they wouldn’t be playing at Witton if they didn’t make mistakes. I wonder what standard of football the three played at themselves? Probably lower than I did. We don’t need that kind of supporter, if you can’t say something good, SHUT UP and groan under your breath, then get behind the lads again.

well said WHS this time of the season the last push we need all surport we can gie the players
fantastic result tonight, i really enjoyed the game.well done witton. its good to be back!!!
Without wishing to jinx us in anyway that was one of our more convincing performances for a long time. some of the football was excellent. The better news is Ferriby usually have a good pitch!
Well done everyone - I keep getting that crowded feeling behind the goals! long may it continue!
Well done to all tonight, great work to get the game on, great work by Jim and Nige (who would have put Macca at right back?) great performance by the team, and well done to (most) of the fans for getting behind the team when they needed it.
Great result tonight. Man of the match must go to Jimmy Vince for selecting Macca at right back.
There were quite a few posts on how to get Liam back to the left back position, and how to get Rob Lloyd involved, but non of us came up with this formation. What a master stroke from our management team.!!!
fantastic tonight!! only 2 more !!

well done jim on the macca at right back selection. as i said liam is more effective at the left and it showed in the quality of his crossing and getting forward tonight. having junior further up helped us create a lot more. though i thought he should try a midfielder at right back didnt think he would choose macca there, but shows how much of a genius JV is. cant say i heard the slagging off of our players tonight, but to be fair everyone going loves the team and there will be moments of frustration from fans, especially at this stage of the season when we just need the remaining wins in the bag, and it happens week in week out at every football club, but we are all there to roar them onto victory.
Well done the players, fans, nige and jim, and most importantly well done to the guys who helped with the pitch and made the game happen!!
2 to go! Lets hope we can even leave north ferriby as champions!!
Come on Albion!!!
WHS. i had a go at some of the blokes that stand near the half way line. they moan at every game, even when the side is playing well. I remember them from The Central Ground.
Moving on. The team played fantastic! As did the ground staff on the pitch. I talked to Macca after the game. And told him that he and the team played fantastic. I also told him, that it was great to see the team play with such confidence at this stage of the season.
Macca told me that he and the team is full of confidence.
Here`s hoping for more of the same on Saturday;)
Just like to add that Pick was on top form too! WIthin in minutes of the game kicking off, he had their right back Biting.
Great win last night, all the pressure was on us to slip up, we didn’t and it’s now on the Cod’s again!
Thought Peersy was back to his terrorising best last night, he looked desperate for a goal, but his most telling contribution was the pull back for Adam’s goal, that was a massive goal and settled the crowd and team down.
Other than that goalline clearance, we didn’t look troubled, the only negative is that there is no way Frickley are capable of getting a result at Fleetwood on the last day of the season! I have never seen a goalkeeper with as little urgency when his team are losing!
Final Word - Massive credit to the groundstaff and Pritch for their fantastic efforts in getting the pitch to that condition!
Echo all of the above. The football we played last night was the best we have played since before Christmas IMO.
Every player from 1 - 11 put in a great performance.
Roll on Saturday!!
Full match report from the guardian;
Did enough to get the 3 pts - expected a bit more from Frickley - but who cares it is all about winning at this stage of the season. Thought Junior Brown had a great game - he has taken the pressure of some of the others and allowed them to relax and get back to their best eg. Peersy.
Roll on Sat - Ferriby Ferriby you are next.
Forgot to mention Robbo - have enjoyed reading your players interviews in the programme - well done.
