The first chance I have had to watch a game at Wincham Park for a number of weeks and what an amazing result. 6 - 0 and we missed another penalty and miskicked in front of goal at least twice in the first half.
Great performances from everyone; they all did their jobs well. Excellent debut from the right back from Burscough, probably the pick of the players for me.
Good run of form for us and adding to the goals for column is always important when so many teams are separated by a handful of points.
I cannot believe that this is only the second comment on this great result. I am writing it at half time during the England-Wales game. I said before the season started Witton would win this league and I said Foster would score 40 goals, looks like I might be right on both counts for once in my life. Please stop asking me to go on the board, I have no money to invest now I am a pensioner, try to get a multi-millionaire!!
WHS.
Well that,s what the stayaways have been missing RS65.
Emphatic win today to enable us to keep in touch with the top five. I think Goole had the
" Gooligans " on the pitch today and got what they deserved in the end.
The referee arrived late at the ground today I believe and he never recovered relying on two good liners to correct him on several decisions. Broadhead again stood in well for the big man at the back who when fit will be needed for the run in for the top spot.
Playing three strikers is working well and with ace penalty taker MM now back chanting at the bit to regain his place it’s roll on Leek.
Well done Gary and the Lads.
Goole got what they deserved.
It’s a good little run we’re putting together.
Everyone contributing well, several different scorers and an impressive debut from right back Ross Lloyd.
Good to see Broadhead scoring with a good header after his head was nearly taken off by a Gooligan in the first half!
We gained points on Cheatstown,Rushall and Glapwell today.
The last two games have seen us score 10 and concede only 1. I have a feeling that this may be due to the arrival of Morgan, a change in formation, and the re-introduction of Ruffer after suspension.
Let’s hope that this good run of form continues, starting on Tuesday, providing the game is on.
Nice result today very proud of the lads, 3 pens given to us you would think I would be pleased with the ref… 6 bookings means a £500 fine so…
Last word to a long standing Witton fan I stood next to in the second half… If we play like this on Tuesday we will get beat 5 … I guess theres no pleaseing some people
Brilliant performance from the lads today, we walked all over Goole and should have had more. MoM for me is Ronnie Morgan, the lad looks to have real quality and an eye for goal. The result of playing this more attacking formation is there for all to see and I’m thinking that it may be the only way that’ll get us out of this league.
A special mention to Ryan Broadhead who has been fantastic since his return. Well played to everybody though!
Really really great result well done to all!!! Strange game really lack lustre first half the referee was utterly pathetic for much of the game, I certainly didn’t see what the liner saw was wrong with the Goole “goal” but anyway!! The new right back did really well and Ryan Broadhead played well as did Ruffer!! Ronnie Morgan played well too infact the whole team did!!! COME ON ALBIOOOOOOOON!!
Great result, and it really shows what we are capable of when we play with proven goalscorers from the start.
Didn’t think it was a particularly outstanding performance, comfortable win yes, and a very clinical one, bizarely we have played better this season and not won games!!!
Maybe, just maybe lady luck is turning and 4 points off the top in a very poor league gives us everything to play for!
I thought Morgan was involved in all of our best moves, and Foster showed why he has to start games. Having their goalscoring capabilites on the pitch allows Lamb to run the hard yards without the pressure of scoring a sackful of goals. However, 3 forwards wont work every week! At times the 4-5-1 will probably still be our best system.
A great result without ever really getting into top gear. The Sheffield game was a better display.
Have to say that the ref was awful. The final penalty was ridiculous. He didnt have control of the game from the first whistle to the last. I have seen better women referees…!!!
A great scoreline, an important 3 points and big benefit to the goal difference.
Goole had a very ‘bad day at the office’ and I thought we exploited this. It would be unfair to say that 6-0 flattered us as we could have scored 3 or 4 more, but the truth is we have played better and lost games this season and I don’t think we were actually at our best. We struggled to get any flow to our football at times and even when 3 or 4 up and against 10 men we were giving the ball away rather than holding it and controlling the game…
It’s pretty clear that Goole wanted a scrap and the most impressive part of our play was that we stood up to them. Every member of the team was strong and not only matched them physically but beat them. There have been plenty of times in the past when we have not been up for games like this and I thought our lads showed real character. This is what won us the points and we deserved it. It was a strong and solid performance rather than a creative and flowing one, but these are the games you need to win and you get the same amount of points that are not based on style!
Morgan was excellent, his best performance yet and the pick of the goals. Ross Lloyd had a very good debut at right back and agree completely with what has been said regards Ryan who gave another committed and brave performance out of position.
The pitch at Leek and the ground in general means that this game will also be more about strength than style, so yesterday was good preparation.
Yes great result lets hope that adds a few onto the gate, looking forward to the leek game now although it will be tough, always is there ! liked the new right full back, and tandy at left back but is he too good to play there ? just need pritch and boothy fit now to really push on well done wittern !!
