I’m here Dodger - I soya posting !
Off the “meatless” subject, someone was saying our loss record was not good for a team hoping to win the league. Would they prefer our record reading W6 L3 D3 or W5 D6 L1? The fact is our record of won 7 Lost 5 gives us the same number of points as the other two permutations. I seem to remember not many seasons ago we almost beat the World Record for drawn league games and we didn’t even make the play offs!! At our present rate we are on course for 75 points, I’ll settle for that!! We will win tomorrow, the score? 3-0 of course!!

You always get some saucy remark from Eli.
Asking that harridan at Cheatstown about her ironing had us in creases.
But we don’t want Mr.Foster to chicken out though, Rabbit (pie)!
He’s not likely to be on the wing and I don’t suppose there’s any claws in his contract which allows him to feather his nest. I met a sage who knows his onions who said he should help stuff the opposition.
Very serious point WHS, me old sausage. Any links to go with this?
After all this hanging around it’s got to be “game on”!
If you are viewing from afar then I shall be posting goals etc as they happen on this excellent website throughout the afternoon. let’s hope I’m very busy
I shall not need your efforts Chad for I shall be foregoing one Rugby match on the box to be at the ground today, how’s that for commitment!!

Should have had this game won by half time but couldnt get the goal. 1st half Quorn weren’t a good side but to their credit were a bit better 2nd half.
We had 3 goals disallowed for offside, the 2nd an absolute joke of a decision by the linesman in my opinion.
Thought Dylan Adams was unlucky as he didnt look to catch the player but the way he went in probably left the ref with no choice. The sending off enabled quorn to take the lead moments later.
Showed character to come back from behind with 10 men, and although the game should have been won earler on i was glad we got a point in the end.
Hopefully Moseley can start next game.
Is it me or do games like this only happen when Witton are involved? Should have been an easy victory, in the end it was a hard earned point.

A point rescued but it should have been three! We had more than enough chances to win the game however having Foster as the sole frontman has shown in the last two games the frailty of our squad. Clearly Mike is not 100% but at least his involvement in the final few minutes was enough to create the second penalty. Both of Foster’s pens were taken very well and his goal return shows his value, just a pity he has been out on his own upfront. We may have had a point on Tuesday night and two more today of we had the personnel to have played a conventional 4-4-2.
Heler surely would not continue to be selected if it were not for the fact he is on a contract, his performances have not warranted selection. We missed Lee Neville again, I thought Dylan put plenty of effort in but he is not a left back and playing him out of position may not of helped him in his sending off. If he has gone in two-footed then there can’t be any arguments with the red card but I genuinely believe that the only intent was to win the ball. I don’t think Callum is good enough either at right back although again the effort level was good and maybe that is unfair for the lad as he has not played much football so far.
Whilst we are still in the mix at the top of the table I think our position is a frail one. We have no strength in depth and once we have to content with injuries and suspensions this is really exposed. This issue falls firmly at the manager’s feet, at this stage of the season you would have expected to see one or two new faces, possibly even a loan signing. To my knowledge we have no goalkeeping cover now that Greg has gone.
I think we are still 2 or 3 players short of a good starting 11, not to mention the need for cover. Having brought Booth back in after recently being dropped it is interesting to see that Henry was made captain today, how many different captains are we going to go through this season. We need consistency and solidity (and passion) if we are going to get up out of this league. If we played like we did against Colwyn Bay every week we would have no problem but unfortunately we struggle to maintain that level of football. We need to defend and attack as a team. Defence and Midfield are more than 1 man jobs, Pritch and Hall (who is playing well) put in more effort than anyone around them. The fastest I saw Heler run was when he was substituted!
Gary has the nucleus of a good side with a strong spine to the team but the manager still has a lot of work to do and needs to think about the decisions he is taking.
Lets face it we could have won this by a hatfull!! Three dissallowed several missed!! Quorn to thier credit played much better second half and there can be no argument with the red card for jumping in two-footed! The manager surely has his hands tied with regard to loan signings financially, we need stay away wittoners at wincham park (a few more today I notice!)and we need Mike Moseley fit and up front with Fozzie for striking options and commitment!!!
Agree MM - lets look at it as a point gained today rather than 2 lost. Quorn are not a good team as their league position indicates but to their credit they did not roll over and when Fozzy missed that good chance at 1-0 it gave them heart. The squad is thin but that is down to finances which makes next weeks FA Trophy game very important.
Wonder what the manager will do now with Boothy now that Rudd is available - I would put Rudd back up front with Fozzy until Mike M is fully fit - Boothy is too good a player to be left out.

i thought Quorn looked quite lively and a couple of their front players had real pace as we found out to our cost for their 2nd goal. The first was a real thumping drive that no-one was going to stop - so overall we can’t complain too much about their 2 goals. for our part we played good football at times and should have had more to show for our efforts than 2 penalties.
I am not sure Heler is fit at the moment - his legs looked gone before he came off - so he may be another of the walking wounded who have to play. I wouldn’t be so hard in him just yet, i don’t think we have seen the best of him in his natural position.
That said, I think everyone knows the squad is too thin - but where isthe money going to come from to bring in more players of the right calibre to strengthen the squad? A better crowd today helps and a win next sat in the trophy will do no harm at all.
Gary didn’t want to risk Moseley today, as Mike’s groin injury is still not right. However, Mike insisted he wanted to go on and try and salvage something. Gary said his heart was in his mouth whilst Moses was on the pitch in case the injury was agravated. Anyway, the gamble paid off.
I know Gary and Mark are doing everything in their power to attract new players to the club, and they talked to 3 last week. However, nothing has yet come from those discusions.
WE are well placed in the league, with luck we will make some real money next Saturday so let’s not start bemoaning our luck etc. We have a good side, a good manager and a good board, success WILL come. Please remember these players are non league, not pros., they make mistakes but I believe everyone of them is desperate for Witton to be succssful.
