just seen result on tv, even though we left the club early on in the season, we are genuinly gutted for all at the club, will someone pass my feelings on to Jim, …hey next season !!! keep your faith I am sure you all will, (Lenny think you will need another holiday to recover from the last few weeks mate)…

Very big of you, n*bhead!

Just back from the game, and Telford were their normal cheating selves. One day teams like Telford will get what’s coming to them, especially that fat git Foster.

Looks like we were unlucky today, beaten by a freak goal.

I hope the sc*mbag Foster gets what he deserves, hopefully an ‘accident’ on his way home. Then we never have to hear about him again.

The BBC Shropshire commentators today revealed that Foster has got about seven people sent off this season with his antics. The man deserves to have something very bad happen to him to teach him a lesson.

Okay, I think I’ve calmed down sufficiently. Telford imposed themselves more over the 90minutes, and sadly today we looked slightly flat. It’s been one hell of a season and no one can portion blame on the lads, Jim and definitely not the fans. What’s important now is that we stick together, Jim will make his necessary changes, but with Telford gaining promotion, means its one less competitor for the title next season.

I would to extend my commiserations to Witton Albion. I thought this was a fantastic day for our Clubs. Sadly, one of us had to miss out.

I thought we deserved to to win the game and I think that early goal set the pace of the game until your equaliser

The organisation was good as was the hospitality. I hope you finally get that promotion next season.

Good luck

have to say, the amount of times telford players should of been booked in that first half is unbelievable! but we got off to the worst start! one-nil down after no more than 2 minutes! gutted! thought we worked well through the half to get back in the game! second half we huffed and we puffed and eventually pritchard, man of the match by a mile today, came up with an equaliser! but then i feel we were desparately unlucky with kennedy caught in no mans land and seeing a lob go over his head into the far corner straight from a throw in! absolutely gutted! never mind we shall have to do the same again next season except this time win the thing and make sure we get through to the conference north by right! ending on a positive note, was so good to see wincham park so full today! first time ive ever seen it as full as that! Come on Witton!

Depends what you mean by sour grapes. Is it or is it not true that matey boy Foster has got seven people sent off this season? It seems to me that he’s a pretty unpleasant person. There’s no room for his type of person in my world, so I’d be very happy to see him incapacitated in some way so he couldn’t cause anyone any further harm - it would be a suitable come-uppance. Come on, tell me he’s misunderstood, he visits church every Sunday and is a wonderful father. Come on, out with it.

My summary of the season (from reading reports, mostly) is that Burscough were probably the most complete team (good football, grit, determination, ability to get the job done when needed). Witton played the best football, but had an inability to get the job done when it came to the crunch, and Telford were a mixture of the two. I thought the Witton-Telford match would be 50-50; I had no idea who would win. I wasn’t surprised at all when Witton let a goal in (albeit a freak goal) in the last 10 minutes - that’s been the pattern for a while.

For me, the defining point of Witton’s season was when we drew 4-4 against Grantham at Easter. If we’d won that, as we should have done easily, we’d have been champions, I have no doubt. Those extra two points and the confidence it would have given us would have been enough to see everyone else off. On such things do entire futures hang.

As for the bloke who said

Well, that’s just a ridiculous thing to say. I presume you’ll get up in the morning, revisit it, and be somewhat ashamed that you said something so stupid.

So, back to your mate Foster. I haven’t heard any reports of his demise yet. I’m waiting…

We were beaten by a cheating dirty team who played better than us today. Two reds in two games in identical circumstances?
HEY REF, DO YOU ALWAY LEAVE THOSE CHEATS ALONE?
Anyway au revoir Telford and hello Alty [ am i right?]. :-[br]Posted on: May 05, 2007, 08:21:42 PM
Nope,sorry wrong!
Alty are down to conferance north.
A senior moment. :frowning:

First of all, apologies for any gloating nobbers on here over the next few hours, you always get a few and the I doubt the one in this thread is a Telford fan at all.

My comiserations to Witton, Albion are a good club who try and play the right way and I’m sorry one of us had to lose today. I thought the games between us were very close indeed but we definately had the edge on this occasion, although it was nip and tuck all the way. I’m not sure how we cheated anyone, Fozzie is Fozzie and he certainly is quick on the wind-ups - then again if the lad is stupid enough to kick him 5 yards away from the linesman he probably deserves to be sent off? I think it’s a silly thing to dwell on as it really wan’t that relevant by then.

All the best to you and your tremendous fans for next season, I hope you can win it outright next time around.

Milky.

The sending off might not have been responsible today for us losing (I’m positive that the sending off in the previous match was 100% responsible for us losing) but I’d prefer to have lost to a gentlemanly side (are there any?), not one that contains someone whose awful behaviour can be justified using the throwaway line, "Fozzie is Fozzie".

Witton’s players should know better than to retaliate, though. That way, he wins. There must be other ways of putting him in his place. I can think of one or two.

Anyway, you seem a decent supporter, so good luck to you and the club. But not Foster. All the bad luck in the world to him…

Cheers Billy. I’m not really trying to justify his behaviour, when I say Fozzie is Fozzie, I just meant he’s a competitive striker who often unsettles defenders with the odd bit of verbal. I don’t really like it much myself, but it’s the way he plays and it can be quite effective. As you say, 7 people have been dismissed this season for challenges on Foster - is that the lad’s fault or the fault of the defenders who were drawn into stupid challenges/arguments as a result of his wind-ups?

In his defence, he’s a big lad with a good goalscoring record (for Radcliffe) and as a result is singled out virtually every game he plays in for some disgraceful treatment from defenders in this league, I can’t say I blame him entirely for playing them at their own game sometimes.

Like I say, I don’t like to see our lads doing it but we tried playing total football last season and we very nearly got relegated doing it, so it’s a case of horses for courses as far as the Unibond league is concerned. I do think we’re competitive rather than cynical, but I guess it’s hard to be objective about your own team.

I do agree that the sending off last Tuesday was crucial too. Don’t take it too hard anyway - I can only imagine how galling being one goal away from winning the league then ending up with nothing can be and I’m disappointed it’s yourselves rather than Burscough in that situation, but Witton are a good club and it’s a matter of "when" rather than "if "for you lot I’m sure. I hope it’s next season, you certainly deserve it.

All the best.

As an exile - I have only had the good fortune to attend one Telford game this season. I went to see a double header in Shropshire on 11th November. Shrewsbury 0-0 Hereford FA Cup 12 Noon KO - a scrappy and at times mind numbing game. Then a 3 O clock KO at The Bucks Head Telford Utd 4-0 Gateshead. A slick preformance with the away side lucky to get nil. I took a mate with me who has no allegiance to any of the teams mentioned and he thought Telford were superb. I cant comment too much about the rivalry between Witton and Telford…save to say it has been at the RIGHT end of the table. IMHO tho - any side that can rack up the number of wins and unbeaten games that Telford did deserve to go up. Any side that can overhaul them and get themselves to the top - likewise !! Pity both couldnt this season - but I expect Witton to do it next season. Good Luck !!

It was a great day out. I enjoyed having a drink with the Witton lads. Telford did deserve to win on the balance of play but hats off to Witton who are a really great side, never give up. They’ll be up next season, hopefully in a better ground nearer to town centre. Let’s hope they get more support - they certainly deserve it. Thanks for a great day out.

Can’t believe some of the comments on here towards Foster??? i would be very suprised if any of the Witton fans had a clear view of the sending of incident. It happened right in front of me and the Witton player desevervedly got sent off. What makes some of these comments more laughable is the way some of the Witton players go down with the slightest touch looking like they are seriously hurt only to get up and run around no problem.
I thought you were the best footballing side we have played and can count yourselves very unlucky to go up and your fans i came across yesterday were very gracious in defeat , good luck for next season
