Witton vs. Harrogate Railway

After a good performance midweek I wonder who this week’s ref will be siding with.
A good win will be just the ticket and a good platform to progress from.

A great chance for three points, with a bit of luck.

The players, officials and volunteers all deserve a crowd of 300+ as a show of recognition of their great efforts since the summer.

It is about time some stayaways swopped Jeff Stelling for WP.

Wheel-tappers.What a fantastic bit of railway terminology that i cannot work into my post.It seems i have been forced to stop at the distant semaphore.

Wheel-tappers was made famous by a certain well known Antrobus publican some years ago.

Real tapas?

Intereating team selection tomorrow;

Manager Paul Ogden could be without as many as five players for the home clash with Harrogate Railway Athletic, with Calum Botham, Ashley Stott, Carl Frost, Danny Griggs and Ian Kearney all likely to be unavailable. Other than Botham, who unfortunately has had to return home for family reasons, all others are carrying knocks. Scott Moffatt, who had to pull out of the team at Cammell Laird last weekend at the last minute due to illness, is expected to be back in contention for a place. Hopefully there will be no further selection problems for the manager.

With numbers depleted, manager Ogden, with the assistance of 'keeper Lee Jones, has moved quickly to fill the vacancy left by the absence of Stott and Frost with the signing 20-year-old striker Aaron Taylor, who was released by Morecambe in May.

Taylor made his full debut for his home town team against Rochdale in October 2008, and marked it with a goal, and went on to make regular appearances in Sammy McIlroy's team.

He had a five week loan at Barrow in 2009/10 and this season he has had a brief spell with Kendal Town.

Let’s just train our thoughts on getting the points and shunting up the league !

Back on track eh?
Diesel want to prove they’re not the league’s whipping boys

Looking for a first class performance over the points!

Any news?

Who scored our 6th goal?

What is the attendance…is it more than 500?

…and the half-time score is?

Come on, any news???

Some people do not understand the torture of sitting on a sun bed, next to the pool, with a laptop on their beer belly awaiting some news!!!

I’m getting sun burnt now. Please somebody post some news…

Drew 2-2 Kinsey got both

Threw away a 2-0 lead.

Attendance 366

Wayward finishing cost us against a side who should have been playing purely to keep their embarrassment to a minimum after the opening half hour. Should have been a big boost to our goal difference. There was one other big factor in this result - to respond to the opening post in this thread, there was no doubt who the ref was siding with!!

A poor result, bad finshing cost us dear against a very poor team, wont name players but we missed stott, botham and frosty for sure I think we have 7-8 decent players but some are just not up to the standard, read that Mark Peers has joined v***s he would have helped a winger with pace, control and a finish, I really think that there are better players out there who we could get to improve the squad, nice to see the legends at the ground I wonder if any of them can play right back ? oops did i say that out loud !

C. J. We have a small squad and to lose three players in Botham, Stott and Frost is not going to make it any easier for us no matter who we are playing. I was dissapointed but it seems the team always plays badly when the gate goes up!
WHS.
PS Perhaps you should play right back? Go on, give us a laugh.

What was the team today?
