Witton 2-0 up at ht.
Goals from Newman and Ben Harrison.
Schofield makes his debut as a sub.
Dorryl aka The Dozzler substituted so Leek are now a non-Proffitt organisation.
Come on the Albs this is good (I can’t make wednesday evening matches dammit!)
Full time score 4-0!
Second half goals from Schofield and Titch.
You know, I am beginning to think the unthinkable and that we have a team capable of winning something substantial, hopefully promotion with lots of lovely “lolly” earned in the FA Cup and the FA Trophy. Please tell me I am not dreaming all this1
WHS.
Witton team
Matt Cooper, Matt Woolley, Matty Wood, Ben Harrison, Anthony Gardner, Carl Clampitt, Jamie Harrison, Anthony Sheehan, Liam Newman, Mark Buchan, Danny Andrews.
Subs: Alex Titchiner, Mike Moseley, Dean Ennion, Tom Schofield, Brian Pritchard.
Good performance for the last hour that I watched, the team retained possesion very well and scored some good goals.
It had a bit of a feeling of a friendly against a lower league team such was Witton’s dominance.
A good confidence builder ahead of Saturday’s game.
Yes, Witton dominated the game but I didn’t think that Leek were up to much. In fact pretty dire really with a number of players not up to that level and a few oldies which are just to old. They are in the top 6 in the Southern half of the Evo Stick which might tell you how good that half is! Think WHS just might be correct! MoM Clampitt Any views out there? SBL
I thought the new lad did very well.
It has to be said that if that was a top 6 Southern team, then we would be looking to win that league at present.
The most pleasing thing for me is that the playing and coaching staff seem to share the same “buzz” that the fans are feeling.
The bar has a much better feel about it after games now.
Roll on Saturday.
I thought the team played well, and it was a pretty easy victory in the end. I don’t remember Matt Cooper having to make a save.
I agree with SBL about Clampitt. Played very well when he had to drop back into defence after Gardner injured his hamstring. He looked very dejected when I saw him just before half time. Hope he is fit again soon, but I think Matt Woolley can do a good job at right back.
If we play like that on Saturday then we have a very good chance of upsetting Alty.
