Witton vs Osset Sat 25th Sept

Cant believe the lack of chat on here, we are second ? and playing well, another home game another 3 points ? gulp, a new player to look at Danny Maguire from Crewe midfield player 21 yesar old who is recovering from a spell out with a knee injury, the big one v Chester looming the place should be jumping, are we suffering from the post WHS era nobody allowed to speak ! Anyway im excited and looking forward to it, lets hope the gates picks up a bit now as the weather is good and that the football floaters ( dont like that term really ) might be drawn in ? must admit I have seen a number of new faces around this season , where are all the old wittoners who have drifted away, cmon get down and support the albion !!!

IMHO the lack of chat/comment has been caused by the hounding of a lifelong proud Wittoner off here, it has certainly sickened me to the core, and I am only still posting having been persuaded to do so!

Agree with u MM.

Had a word with WHS at the match to try and get himm to return to posting,

His drivel in the programme is not as good as his drivel on here !

ITS ABSOLUTELY DIABOLICAL THAT WHS WAS DRIVEN OFF HERE, HE IS ONE OF THE DEDICATED WITTONERS OF MANY YEARS. OK SO SOME OF HIS POSTINGS WERE DRIVEL, BUT CERTAINLY NO WORSE THAN, AND PROBABLY BETTER THAN SOME OF THE CHILDISH AND STUPID POSTINGS ON HERE. COME BACK WHS, START POSTING AGAIN. DON’T LET THESE JUNIOR SUPPORTERS PUT YOU OFF.

Colin you are right, re posting and the trouble is we are great at whinging at Witton (we are apparently known as Whingeton by a number of non league supporters) If we had been beaten in the last 5 games the forum would have been a hell of a lot busier!! - you only have to ONCE AGAIN look at the responses to this post to understand why some people don’t post!

Right to concentrate on the subject of the post (difficult I know, but stick with me)

The TEAM are playing extremely well, and I like the way that the manager has set his stall out, he started out by making us hard to beat, with an experienced and decent spine Cooper/Kearns/Macca and Kinsey and then little tweeks as and when the opportunity arose to improve the team, the additions in particular of Griggs, Botham and Stott have added flair to the efficiency of the team.

The other crucial thing for me and this is regardless of results is that not one player in the games I’ve seen this season can be accused of not putting effort in - definitely a massive improvement.

For me pre-season I’d have settled for mid table, even now without sounding defeatist I think top 8 would be great.

The increase in attendance is very encouraging, the launch of The Wittoner got peoples awareness of the club up.

Off the field and a little bit under the radar, the Development Fund is still supporting the club to the tune of £200 p.wk. We haven’t made any appeal for assistance this season because peoples focus was quite rightly on the Floodlights (Again another positive move). The predictions are being well supported, and there a number of stalwarts still contributing their hard earned silently. Jim Powell’s work again has been immense, without him there would be very little happening.

The huge improvement in the social club will benefit OUR Football Club in the long term, again massive support from individuals who provided the materials foc and just as important the volunteers who then put those materials to good use.

The pitch and surroundings are improving year on year, again due to volunteers moneywise and timewise.

There are loads of things to be positive about at the club - It would be great if the forum reflected it a little more.

UP THE ALBS

Andy - If u take the time to read all posts u will see plenty of praise !

A great posivitive post!!!

totally agree with thatched tavern’s post, all the stalwarts who put the time and cash into witton should take a bow, and i for one appreciate everything they do. alas i cannot do the same, but i try to support all the things they do. keep up the good work.
