To confirm tomorrows friendly against Vauxhall is on at 3pm.
Usual admission prices apply £5 and £3.
Best of luck to the team today, I do hope it is the eleven that will start the season that starts today so by the time the season starts the team will be well bedded in. I’m of the “Shankly Persuasion”, when asked for his team he merely said “Same as last season”!! This “chopping and changing” or rotation system is all my eye in my opinion.

2 - 1 to Witton. Chris Smith got on the score sheet again in the first half followed by an own goal from an Adam Foy corner to put Witton 2 up. Vauxhall pulled one back in the 89th minute but Oggy had made a lot of subs by them. A good result for us against higher opposition.
Sounds like we had our “A” team out in the first half, was it?
WHS.
Very decent performance especially in the first half, thought the defence looked tight and after the midfield settled played well. Nice spell in the first half where we played keep ball for what seemed about 10 mins. Kinsey looks excellent at holding the ball up while Smith took his goal very well. From all the friendlys I’ve seen so far I have been most impressed with young Ben Harrison, playing alongside Kearney they made a good team and Pritch is going to have to work very hard to keep either out of the team IMO. Adam Foy was his usual self, working hard at closing. Hancock and the left sided player that came on (sorry didn’t catch his name) looked useful and with Frost, Canning and Pritch not playing in this game I left feeling optimistic for the season, although it has to be stressed you can’t read too much into friendlys, to be honest Vauxhall didn’t look a patch on The Eastwood side and I think will struggle this season.
Very positive report TOF, I am feeling very confident that we have the right man for the job in Mr. Ogden.

MIssed this one away for the weekend but encouraged by the reports, I think the start 11 is taking shape and with competition support where required, cmon wittern
Frost - Canning - Pritch - R these the 3 senoir players that Oggy was referring to in the NG " as not being happy with " ?
I very much doubt that Pritch was one!!
WHS.
Why?
Frost was away, Canning injured and Pritch was missing his first game, quite rightly giving a new combination a look at in defence. Worth noting though that Broadhead was on the bench and didn’t feature at all…
I’m really enthused and agree with WHS that Mr Ogden is the right man for the job, Personally I wanted him 2 years ago in a joint parnership with Nige and I think that would have worked and we’d still be in the premier but there you go!!
What I like about Saturday was ok, we won 2-1, but the atmosphere in the club after with the players all sitting together and having a drink with the manager spoke volumes for the team spirit and the carmararderie that was so obviously missing last season.
The young centre half is impressive, thought Danny Warner had a good game, the right back Moult was good (any relation to Graham ?), Kearns was well Kearns which is great he’s been missed, Peter Heler worked hard, Adam Foy did a great closing down job, The midfield once it got going held and passed the ball well and the lads up front worked hard. I don’t think Kinsey has great pace but his 1st touch, hold up play and lay offs are great and its up to the other lads to get on the end of his good work. Thought Smith looked strong and agressive up front and he took his goal well. We were missing Canning,Frosty,Pritch on top of this too and one or two of the younger players coming on at the end looked ok too and all this against a team 2 divisions higher. I think at this stage its coming together well and Colwyn Bay will be a good tester and a chance to further develop the team. So yes I’m enthused and really looking forward to the season which I’ve got to say I wasn’t this time last year. Onward and Upward looking forward to Thursday!!
I’ve not been to any friendlies yet, as I have been on holiday, and still am. However, I am glad to hear that Ben Harrison is doing well for us. I have watched him over the last few years playing for the Mid-Cheshire team, and also playing Sunday football. I have known him many years, as his dad Ted used to play and manage the Thatched Tavern football team.
He has the footballing skill and know how, but I was always worried about his physical ability. Although he is the right height for a central defender, he is rather lightweight, and as such is prone to be shoved off the ball. Hopefully he proves me wrong, and shows he is capable of making the step up. One for the future! The future is NOW!
Pritch will not mind competition for his place, he thrives on it. The reality however is that for anyone to get into the side in front of the big fella will mean we have found one of the Unibond’s best centre halves. Pritch may play one or two less games this season but be sure he’ll want to play everyone and every time he does play he’ll give his usual 100%.
Competition will be a good problem to have.
It’s refreshing to see us play with 2 centrehalves that have a bit more pace than we are used to.
Pricth certainly still has a role to play. For example, today he has been putting the new goal posts in. He also helps cut the grass, although that takes him a while as he is slow on the turn when he reaches the far end of the pitch.
He is looking quite lean though, or he might just be wearing bigger clothes to fool us.
Anyway, he got me some paint today so i wont be too harsh on him.
I agree with you Rabbit, if we can afford to leave out Prirch we are in REALLY good shape!! However I think Pritch will play most of the time, he is still too good at this level to be left out.
WHS.
Reading between the lies it looks like the Legends playing days are comimg to an end ?
Eli - What is your problem with our clubs most loyal, long serving defender/all round clubman?
Did you have the same attitude towards Johnny Goryl?
I haven’t got a problem with Pritch playing for another x number of seasons, or retiring next week, and basically its up to the manager of the day to judge whether he’s good enough to get in the side.
This constant sniping is pathetic and disrespectful imo.
Lighten up and read the post again !
