Witton's pitch dimensions

Can anyone give me the dimensions of the pitch at Wincham Park? My lad doesnt believe me that it’s similar in size to the ones on TV, which do look bigger on tv to be fair.

Was it me or was the Stoke pitch made smaller, there were lines further back than the ones they were using. As for the pitch at Witton all I know is there is a stipulated maximum and minimum on length and breadth for all football pitches so Witon’s would have to conform to those rules. I would hazard a guess that it is probably something like 110yards by 55yards.

Thanks WHS.

Stoke prefer the smaller pitch, I think to help with their throws, but the minimum for the premiership is smaller than the Europa league minimum. So they’ve been making it bigger for the Europa league games hence you can see the faded white lines.

I was more intrigued with Ryan Shotton having a towel sewn into his shirt!

As to the actual original question I don’t know what Witton’s pitch is but in the Premiership the longest is 116 yards the shortest 110 yards. The widths go from 77 yards down to 70 yards. Having given it some thought I think ours is about 110 by 70.

Just come across this fact, a pitch can be 130 yards by 100yards!!!

Wittons pitch was shortened in length several years ago and i think it is approx 110 yards long and 68-70 yards wide dependant on each season as the width is brought in for one season and then taken back out the following season so Sprucey tells me

I was once told that Wittons pitch was wider at one end than the other as a tactic! first half we would try and play towards the narrow end using one winger and the second half bring a second winger to utilise the extra width… great story would love it to be true!!

I was once told an old crown green bowler would wear a size seven shoe and a size eight shoe so he could cheat when measuring!! I would think both stories are just that, stories.

Some years ago a certain Mr.Tulley decided that the pitch was too wide and decided to shorten it.
Whether it went ahead I do not know.May be Sprucey or Mr.W can enlighten us.

Cheers guys, nothing definite. Ill make him pace it next time we’re at home

Mr.Tulley’s pitch plan made front page news in Northv*c Guardian.
