A hateful souless place and the gate nearly all Albion. 3 points, played well deserved even more for a battling performance when down to 10 men. Would rather have my teeth out than go aagain.
Well played to all the team and hope we can build on this win. With a bit of self belief we could be in the mix this year!
Victories at places like Woodley are hard to come by, well done lads. As for plastic pitches, wish we could afford one and the main pitch as well but sadly we don’t have the cash.
Onwards amd Upwards.
After a victory is the time, to criticise, no chance of being accused of sour grapes. What is played on those surfaces may be under the same rules as football, but it is not football as we know it.
Can’t argue with the financial aspect, note I said ‘competitive fixture’. If a club wants to make money from having a plastic pitch, it should be in addition to a grass pitch, not as a replacement.
I agree entirely with your sentiments Mike. However, it seems that the pitch, and non of the future planned pitches are the property of Woodley Sports, but rather the property of the council. As such, Woodley do not make any revenue out of the hiring of the pitch! I am not sure wher they get their money from to afford such players as Brad Maylett and Stuart Rudd.
Plastic pitches at this level are ok for training but not for matches IMO.There is increased risk of friction burns abraisions and not forgetting the dreaded hammy injuries.I understand CSKA Mascow have a plastic pitch but must cost mega money because of superior quality which we can’t afford.
Really good win at a team in good form with an unfair advantage!
Looking at the league table Skem n Curzon have gone off like rockets but we know what can happen to the early pacesetters!!! More importantly we definitely have a team that is competitive and can hopefully achieve a top 5 finish! UTA
I think that Knutsfordonian hit the nail on the head “a souless place” to watch football. No fans and no atmosphere. Good bacon Bap and Chips though! Where do they get their money from? On a number of occasions this season Witton fans outnumber the home fans. Pity sometimes it carn’t be the other way around! Until the needless sending off we were comfortable and probably could have gone on to win with a much more comfortable score. MoM for me, Sheean in midfield. He organised well and never stopped running. I also agree that our centre backs did well and worthy of a mention. SBL
I do like the attitude of the new team, no one hides for sure and I bet pritch wont let them, but do I think we yet have the quality to win the league - no not really, if we can keep in the playoff places I will be very happy and to win the playoffs will be beyond my expectations but i also would like nothing more this club belongs above the level it is at for sure.
