Your club (2)

I actually don’t view this website that often although i do get told about what is on it mainly by Greg who is on it every minute! I then ask other people to remove any threads involving me so Si get rid of that one i have just seen thank you!!!
As you lot know i don’t normally air my opinions concerning matters that much in the public arena these days but it has been something of a soap opera for the past few weeks at the club and a lot is being written on this site about tapping up’s, players leaving management changes etc…

All i will say is that players leave football clubs, its a fact of life. We all pick a club to support and will stick by that club no matter what, a feat that is always at the front of Witton fans minds, in recent years(decades). The players that have left now i wish them all the luck in the world at their new clubs. They each have to do what is best for them but without pointing fingers at any one person or persons the manner in which it has been conducted is at the very minimum, unprofessional and smacks of individualism.

We have to draw a line under this sorry episode now. I just feel that we have to move on , no matter how angry or upset anyone is, otherwise it will consume the club and focus will be taken away now from Nige building a team for next season. I just hope everybody involved has learnt lessons from this mess, that will make us an evener stronger club in the future.

It is important that all our energies are now concentrated on next season which is only a matter of a few weeks away. Come the start of the season we will have a team and it will be rammed home to all the players by Nige that we are there to compete in this league and not just to make up the numbers. The money, fund raising, support you lot give is fantastic and is so under appreciated in my eyes. Without it there simply would not be a Witton. It is one of the reasons why i have played here for so long and why i always enjoy being here. I have read your comments but honestly i play because i love playing for this club, i have no desire to be anywhere else. In my eyes that doesn’t make me loyal, some would argue i have no ambition or desire. Personally i would argue i am happy where i am and i believe i have developed and grown (cue any away fan or idiot across the canal in the stadium of incomplete to make a comment about my waistline zzzzzzzzzz)as a player at Witton so thats why i don’t need to go elsewhere.

Adversity and Witton go hand in hand and we have been dealt bigger blows in the past and survived and will survive this. If you are depressed that much come and watch Warrington Wolves it makes me cheer up no end! Keep the faith no matter what happens.
I know this is long, it wasn’t meant to be and i almost forgot my other reason for coming on here tonight which is the ground. There are tonnes and tonnes of boring jobs to be done on the ground. We need as many helpers as possible to come down the ground. If you can spare an hour, half a day etc then come down. Bring a scraper or wire brush, some metal primer and brushes and ideally the biggest tin of red gloss paint you can find. Don’t fancy that then the stands and terrracing all need cleaning. There is no point having a team if we don’t have stadium up to scratch for you to watch us in is there? Contact the club during the day to see if anyone is around to let you in, failing that pm greg, rabbit on here so they can arrange for you to get in. If anyone else wishes to join me i wil be at the ground tomorrow 18/6/08 at 17:00 to continue painting my pink paradise so feel free to come down. I will be there over the weekend as well so i might see some of you.

God Bless Mr Pritch. Those BRIGHT PINK Away Dressing Rooms Are A Bit Of A Marvell. What A Cracking Colour, A Personal Choice I Assume? lol (Suits You)

The Best Statement Ive Read On Here. Seems To Be From The Heart!!

If I Can Be Of Assistance With Anything, Then Just Let Me Know.

I’m not gonna kiss your arse on here Pritch (there’s too much to kiss anyway so I wouldn’t know where to start!) but that post sums up exactly why we are involved in Witton Albion FC. Everyone at Witton Albion is a fighter, we’ve got a Wittoner at the helm now with the best interests of the club at heart so lets have it!

Bring on Prestatyn!

cracking post Brian, we have been dealt some big blows but we are witton we will be there win, lose or draw.

Great post, one of the more interesting ‘essay’ type posts i have read and will probably ever read (its hard for me to read long posts, i have a short attention span:lol: ). We will fight to the end and pull through this rough patch!!

Spot on big man! Unfortunately there are very few players left in football that genuinely love the club they play for, it sounds crazy but many at this level move for an extra £20, £40, £50 a week! I don’t have an issue with players wanting to move to a higher level and further their careers but do consider that some have been to quick to depart under the influence of others. Some of the these players may ultimately realise that where they end up is not as good as were they left (and the weekly wage rise does not cover their rising petrol bill)!

The club must also learn some lessons in regards to player contracts, the previous administration is guilty of allowing some of our best assets depart at their own free will. Equally players should behave professionally and with dignity which includes not having talks without the knowledge of the football club, not saying one thing and then doing an other and remembering that the club has helped in their development as better players.

When the previous group of players failed to achieve promotion for two seasons the supporters were still prepared to back them to continue! I believe that Nige will build a team compete again and we will back him 100% in the process.

At least he knows who the first name on the teamsheet is!

Great post pritch.

I must admit that despite the turmoil and the backstabbing, the prospect of having a new team built from scratch is actually quite exciting!!

i have to agree! as peed off as i am about the jv thing and players leaving, i am really looking forward to the season starting and seeing all the new players!

Dead right again Greenie !

If we have a squad of players who give as much as our No4 ( with maybe a litte more skill  ) then that will do for me. Roll on next season.

Great post Mr Pritchard!!!

I can remember when me and Chris Ellams started training with the first team, Big Pritch was always the one who looked after us, making sure we were ok and didnt feel nervous. For that reason (along with many others) Pritch will always be an absolute legend in my eyes !!

How many days is it now Eli??
