Ladies and Gents,
As you will be aware the Social Club has had a revamp over the close season,
this was long overdue.
Jimmy Powell headed and financed this large scale renovation ably assisted by his family and friends of Witton Albion Football Club. The amount of hours of hard work that has been put in has been incredible. The Social club is a major source of revenue for the club, the work was so necessary, just to compete with similar venues. Non Witton functions are vital for the survival of a club of our size.
Witton fans are generous with their financial assistance, but we all get to a point when we just can’t give any more money.
However you can help, we are desperate for volunteers to help with cleaning and general maintenance of the ground and football side of the club. There are now only 3 or 4 regular volunteers who try and cope, to be honest we have not enough. Apart from Witton first team games, there are a number of other games played at the ground.
This is rental money that we cannot afford to turn down. The downside is that after each game the pitch has to be maintained, the ground has to be tidied, the dressing rooms cleaned.
If you can help as a regular volunteer please speak to me.
In the meantime with all the work going on in the social club, the ground has been somewhat neglected.
On Sunday 11th August between 10am and 2pm
Volunteers are being sought to do some essential work in the ground. We need to have Help the Heroes Stadium ready for the new season.
Please bring paint brushes, floor brushes, rakes, screwdrivers etc and of course a sense of humour. Please, even if you can give only an hour of your time for your club, get down on that Sunday.
