see we signed warlow ,anyhow hope u regroup and challenge next season
Fu£££ng Gutted:angry: But good luck to the lad!
Wonder how much the club has got for him, hope it’s a good deal
Good luck to Adam he’s a great lad and a great player all the best.
Good luck to the lad, the Mrs will be gutted! I am suprised he has not moved to a higher level than Conference North, I would have thought a Conference or League Two side may have taken a chance on him.
Absolutely gutted at this news. Our one regular goalscorer from last year gone.
Still, I don’t think he will fit in up there, he doesn’t cheat enough to be popular.
Adam Warlow: “After talking with Andy Pilley and Tony Greenwood, I can see the club is certainly going places. They outlined the stadium plans and the overall goal of continuing to move upwards. This certainly matches my own footballing ambitions. I’m delighted at the prospect of Blue Square North football next season. It’s a higher standard and I’m excited about linking up with some of the excellent players at Fleetwood. Playing in good stadiums week in, week out in a higher league is a challenge I’m looking forward to. I enjoy leading the line and being a target player. Bringing others into play and getting in behind defences are other important parts of my game. My appetite to score lots of goals for Fleetwood is something I’m really excited about.”
I’m hoping there is a fee involved:unsure:
Absolutely gutted. But who can blame him? Here’s hoping we replace him with another quality centre forward - Michael Moseley perhaps?
Good Luck Adam…you´ve given us 2 great seasons, and you were class from the minute you scored on your debut at North Ferriby last season.
Don´t keep us waiting about the fee. Even if it is bad news, and for some daft reason he went on a free, please let us know now, and not in several weeks time.
I understand that Adam has gone for free, his contract ran out on June 1st. Fleetwood are over the moon, getting the leading scorer for nothing after apparently having a an offer turned down for him last season. Perhaps someone will explain whether Warlow had indeed been offered another contract before the end of last season and he turned down what the club offered or is this just one of several players who’s contract is up and can leave for nothing. Has the club made available to supporters it’s list of players who remain on contract for 2008-09 or are we just guessing. At least I understand Peers will cost money if anyone want’s him, but who else?
Gutted to see Adam go but It would be great to see super Mike back next season.
Mark Harris’s reaction can now be found on the Guardian website, needless to say he’s less than happy
From the guardian website
WITTON have accused Fleetwood of going behind their back to sign Adam Warlow.
The Wincham Park club plan to report their rivals to the Football Association after they failed talk to them first about their star forward.
He signed a two-year deal at Highbury last night, Sunday.
“I’ve not had a single call from Fleetwood,” Albion acting chairman Mark Harris told the Guardian this morning.
“We took up an option to keep Adam Warlow at Witton next season. His name is on a retained list sent to the FA although it is true he had yet to sign a new contract.”
Albion are entitled to compensation for the striker, who finished as the UniBond Premier Division’s top scorer last season, as he is under 24.
It’s a matter they intend to pursue, according to Harris.
He added: "Graham Edgeley met with the player last week to try to persuade him to stay.
“He’s had two great seasons with us and we want to keep last year’s squad together.”
Warlow, 21, scored 60 goals in 95 appearances for Albion after switching from Crewe Alexandra - initially on loan - in June 2006.
He made that move permanent upon his release by the Railwaymen last summer.
“Fleetwood is a club going places,” Warlow told the Fishermen’s official website.
“Their ambition matches mine and I’m delighted at the prospect of playing at a higher standard - it’s a challenge I’m looking forward to.”
Fleetwood, promoted to Blue Square North as champions after pipping Witton to the title in the final week of last season, are equally delighted to get their man.
“Adam is a big signing for the club,” said manager Tony Greenwood.
"Any striker who puts away 30 goals in a season is going to add spice to your forward line and we had to beat a number of other clubs to get his signature.
“He’s a different type of forward who is able to hold up the ball and his link-up play with the midfield is impressive.”
Am totaly gutted to hear that Adam has gone to fleetwood.Where do you start to look for a striker of Adams abillity and strike rate or perhaps even better, that wont cost an arm and a leg for the club to sign for Witton?
The club must have known about this, I knew last week.
Sanasay played well against us, he might not have a club in a few weeks, Gedman has been released by BPA and is Lou Briscoe still at Leek?
According to a report on the Unibond website, Nantwich Town are going to be speaking to Dave MacPherson this week.
That would be just as bad for us as Adam going, if he did sign.
Gedman might be worth a look, Briscoe has a trial with MLS side Houston, so when he doesn’t get signed by them, we might be in with a shout!!!
Also, anyone care to enlighten us as to who else is on the retained list?
Adam who ?

Exactly!!
Regardless of the goals Adam has scored, the fact is that this move was hardly unexpected. Fleetwood are playing at a higher level, and are also paying out good money. Adam is a young footballer who has his future to consider. The way it has all come about isn’t ideal, and i’m sure there are alot of things going on behind the scenes that we don’t know the whole truth about just yet.
Anyway, Adma’s gone so we get over it and move on. At the end of the day, we’ve had a 30 goal striker in the squad for the last 2 seasons - where exactly has it gotten us?! The same place that we were before we signed him!!
