adam warlow signs for fleetwood

Got to say out of every club he could have signed for why oh why did he sign for fleetwood, i would rather have seen him take Telfords offer than the team that pipped us to the title right at the death. I am dissapointed he has done that. But forget him. We need a goalscorer desperately cos i dont see many coming from the other 3 we have left

do do do who needs Adam Warlow

Adam who indeed!
Wish him luck although slightly miffed that from what I read in robbo’s post Adam has made no ackowledgement of Witton.
Mose had grace to come to forum when he left.

" Mose had grace to come to Forum when he left "

That’s cos’ he may be comin back ?

Nah, he’s finished/washed-up/over the hill

I’d love to see him back at Witton. I don’t think it’ll happen just yet though - he’ll be staying at BPA for time being.

Rather than speculating at the moment regards other players the matters are best left in the capable hands of Mark, GE and the manager. A number of the players are under contract and therefore fees will be payable IF they want to move and IF offers are accepted. Other players have had options extended and are retained for next season.

The current unfortunate situation could have been somewhat avoided by better housekeeping from those previously in positions of control, suffice to say that the jobs now of the individuals are harder than they should have been.

If it takes another week or two before the squad list is published then so be it, I have every faith that the people involved are doing their best for the football club and moving forward Nigel will have is own ideas of one or two players who we may bring in.

Lighten up Rabbit - we are allowed a bit of fantasy footie on here are we not ?

totally agree with rabbits post. sh8te have i just said that.

we have just had a change of manager and chairman, so the board needs to steady the ship again.

Eli, I am lighter than a light object in Light Town on an exremely light day!!!

My point is that we all want to know what is happening, who is staying and who is going. My statements were directed more towards those that are demanding information. The Board needs a little time and patience so that they can conclude their current discussions, at the moment there will be plenty that cannot and should not be publicised whilst they get the house in order!

I think sanasay would be a good signing he is strong, physical and has a proven goal scoring record and as i said in my other post I would love to see Mike return.

Thats true as we have entered into the month of June we need to start preparing for the new campaign and making sure we can mount a serious promotion challenge. First of all that means deciding who wants to stay and who wants to go. If some players are taking too much time making their minds up, its no good for the club. We know we now need two strikers, because if Kevin Rapley is the answer to Adam Warlow then we are in trouble. But we dont know who else we will need until these players decide what they want to do. I was gutted logging on this morning and reading about Warlow, I dont want to keep getting these awful suprises now and then until the beginning of August.

" I think Sanasay would be a good signing "

He would have to get rid of those horrible tights first.

Agree with u Rabbit - I can wait and see what develops. Let’s all have good holidays and when we get back get zigga zagga 'ing down to sunny Prestatyn.B)

Sorry I’m going to put my foot in it and upset everyone but I don’t want Mike back as much as I love the bones of the lad, neither do I want Sanasay. I’m a firm believer in not going back.I’d love to see Briscoe or Gedman come as they are proven goalscorers. Whether we can compete financially is another story. Would love to see Macca stay and Junior Brown to sign even if this meant letting someone else go perhaps for a fee!! To me Junior is a complete player who apart from flair also has the abilty to win tackles and headers. Its also important that we keep the likes of Kearns, Coo, Brownhill and either Lloyd or Brown or both.
I’m really worried about the Nantwich affect. They are a happening club now having just persuaded Darren Tinson to sign. Its obvious they are overtaking us in terms of financial clout and if the rumours are true that we did try for Steve Davis and he preferred it there then it tells its own story. I think Nige is a tremendous guy and especially as a coach but I’m really not sure of his managerial capabilities. Someone coming in as Director of Football like Paul Ogden would be great to compliment Nige’s fantastic coaching ability. It really is crucial that we get someone in to help Nige with the managerial side of things so he can concentrate on what he’s best at coaching a great side. I’m sure everyone behind the scenes is trying hard to bring this to fruition and doing the best they can with the sitaution as it stands!
Apologies to those who think I’m being negative and no doubt I’ll be hung drawn and quarteerd by the usual suspects on here but these are just my own views and in no way a direct critisism of anyone at the club. Its been a traumatic few weeks we need to get things sorted and settled quickly now as other club are already signing people on!!

Spot on Mona

Think Lou Briscoe has gone to the states?

Anyway…as was said at the meeting players will go maybe even all of them (except Pritch of course!)

As ive said earlier good luck warlow but lets move on from this now.

It’s only Fantasy MONA . Cheer up! Have u pledged yet?

in reply to mona about getting someone in to help Nige,John Hulse as resigned as Rhyl FC manager,am not sure of his contact details, but he has had success at rhyl over the past 6 years,it might be worth someone putting out feelers to see what his intensions are?and if he would be interested in a position at Witton Albion, either as director of football or assistant to Nige.

John Hulse is exactly the kind of bloke I’m on about an experienced manager who has been around for years. The only reason I went for Ogden was because Nige and several of our former Leek players worked with him before so therefore he’s a known quantity. I also happen to think that people like Hulse, Ogden etc have the contacts to know where players are and can obviously negotiate with them which is crucial given our reduced budget. Being realistic this season there are “Money” teams who potentially on paper should do better than us.We just have to compete as best we can with the budget we have something that Jim was really good at. If we can get into a play off slot I think this would be real achievement but I guess ours is more a midtable budget for our league this coming season looking at the teams in it.
I’m not being negative here just realistic. We’ve had 2 great seasons just hope this will be 3rd time lucky and we can dig up several new players to add to our existing team who might get us up.

Firstly; why are we doubting Nige before he’s even been given a chance to show what he can do? We need to be backing him 100%.
Secondly; we had a mid-table budget last season - and it’s been cut this season, so the Play Offs would be fantastic!!
Finally; it would be great to have an experienced man on the coaching staff. Someone like…Nigel Deeley. Anyone else that is appointed to work alongside Nige will need to be paid. That money will come out of the playing budget, and therefore reduce the amount of players that we can retain and/or sign for next season.

Like every other Wittoner, i could come up with my dream coaching staff and playing squad. Unfortunately paying for them is a different matter! Unlike previous managers, Nige cannot go spending money that he just doesn’t have. Let’s give him a few weeks to see what he comes up with, and trust his judgement in the meantime.

The job that Nige has found himself in is probably very different to the one that he signed up for just last week!!

Am not, doubting Nige,s abbillity as a manager, and never have,he knows the club and the game of football inside out,it was just a suggestion, that if the club wanted to talk to someone to work alongside/with Nige.I know that the club are on a tight budget, with regards to the team/playing side of things,a phone call and chat to him can do no harm, john hulse may not want to return to football yet?but a chat cannot do any harm, as long as the budget side are explained,to anyone comeing in as assistant manager,or director of football.

I rest my case regarding Mr.Warlow.The lad does not have enough grace or neurones to acknowledge Witton.
As for Mr.Bling Bond, thank you but no thanks.
He did b****r all last time and won’t be any different now.
