adam warlow signs for fleetwood

Have the club taken it further about a potential illegal approach by Fleetwood for Warlow, if as it seems he was under contract, with a further option then what Fleetwood have done is against the rules. Witton have to agree to release him from the option I understand.

Paul Ogden is Assistant Manager at Colwyn Bay - don’t forget he was offered the job a few years ago with Nigel as his assistant.

Lets not start slagging Warlow off. He is a decent bloke and it is very easy for some of you to forget that he’s only 21 years old and a pretty quiet lad. In the position he found himself in, most people would have done the same and I’m sure he will take the time to thank those who have helped him in due course.

As for Fleetwood, lets take them to the cleaners if we have a case.

Well said Mr Green!

Thanks Mr Clarke!

I think it’s important to differentiate between a lad who is moving from a troubled club to a higher division to further his career and the bunch of mercenaries who bogged off for more money at Bradford last summer!

A few good points, and players moving on is just part of football.

However…there are ways and means to go about it.

Thanks Rob Sproston that clears up the Paul Ogden option. I would have liked to have seen him at Witton to be honest as he would be ideal to fill in on the things Nige is not so strong on leaving him to concentrate on the coaching and development of our players. AS I’ve stated previously and it is just my view Nige is not a manager and his past record at Congleton and Leek show this to be true. Nige is one of the top coaches in non league football so I just think we are putting him in a stressful position making him manager. We don’t want to lose the lad 6 months down the line because he is a real assett to the club as a top class coach. I accept that appointing a Director of Footballor or an Assistant will take up some more of the budget but the right bloke will also save us money in terms of knowing where to get players and for the right price wages wise.Ok we can’t compete money wise but we have a good set up, we are a friendly family well run club with a very committed fan base and we play footie the right way so we have to sell ourselves on those things.A good experienced bloke could do this. I’m not slagging Nige of either before he starts he’s great at what he does but I’m sure he will need help and I just hope its someone who can compliment what Nige does. That means having contacts and as I say being persuasive and a good motivator. Nige will do the rest and of course will have ideas of his own. Maybe one of our senior plyers could step up to this role and combine this with playing?
On the Warlow front I’m dissapointed with him. I think he could have done better for himself and has just taken the first offer he got. I also don’t like the way Fleetwood work. I hope we report them to the FA and get some compo as its only fair. I just hope we are chatting to our players and trying to get them on board after the recent turmoil as its essential we hang on to most of them. I appreciate its difficult but its now more than ever that we need our lads to stand up and be counted and they really need to look at themselves as us the fans really got behind them last season and ok we failed to go up narrowly. While money does come into it I think loyalty does as well and I’d like to think the majority of our boys will stay and come out fighting and finish the job we nearly achieved last season.
I know you’ll all disagree with me so I’m sitting here in work awaiting the backlash!! The main thing is we all want wants best for the club but I just feel we’ve had two successful seasons and with a reduced budget its going to be a tall order to keep the momentum going so we need to make the right decisions now and the right football managerial team is essential for this as well as the right organisition off the field!!

Its even taller with Ex Board members and officials of the club 54it stirring, left right and centre.

With regard to Adam, he signed a 1 year contract last year to hopefully better himself, he appears to have done this. We will get recompense because of his age, so we should all wish him well for the future.

How many of us at 21 had/have the life skills to deal with a change in circumstances that Adam is going through, he’s hardly done a Sol Campbell/Frank Lampard! Also theres every chance that Pique has a team of agents/advisors round him, so the similarity ends there for now.

GOOD LUCK AND THANK YOU ADAM!!!:

Adam who ? As Andy says the lad signed on for last season when he could have gone higher and we have had 2 great seasons from him. He is a nice lad with very nice parents so good luck to him where ever he plays.

How about :- Nigel & Wayne Nigel & Wayne Nigel & Wayne
Wayne & Nigel Wayne & Nigel Wayne & Nigel

Let’s get the club back on an even keel and then the football will take care of itself. I just want a TEAM to support and am prepared to give Nigel a good chance - he at least deserves that from us.

Firstly i’d like to reply to vi8 and eddiec. I only signed on sunday night, and ive been trying to register on the forum since then, and now is the first time ive been able to post a message. I’m disappointed with your posts, and its disappointing that you thought i wouldnt even acknowledge Witton.

However, to all at Witton,

Thanks to everyone that has wished me good luck with my move, it wasn’t an easy decision to leave such a good club with such great fans, i just felt that it was the right time in my career to move on. I have thoroughly enjoyed my two seasons at Wincham Park, firstly on loan, and especially as a full-time Witton player, and i will take some fantastic memories with me. I would like to thank everyone involved at Witton, starting with the management staff, the boardroom staff, the medical staff, and especially my team mates. I was always made to feel very welcome by all the staff and i wish Nige and all the lads all the best for the forthcoming season.

I would like to say a special thanks to all the fans for making me feel very welcome over the last two years and for always supporting me and the team no matter what. You have been fantastic, and i will miss your support more than anything, thank you!. I am gutted that we missed out on promotion two seasons running, last season inparticular. I know how much it means to the fans, and i was gutted for them.

I am sure Nige will do well as manager, as he is an excellent coach, and i hope Witton as a club can bounce back from last seasons disappointment, and gain the promotion they deserve, i will definately be watching out for the scores. I have made a lot of friends at Witton, and I would like to think i can keep in touch with them.

Thanks again to everyone at the club, and good luck for the future,

                                                                 Adam Warlow #9

Well done for taking the time to post on here Adam. Perhaps we’ll see you in Witton colours again one day in the future.

Thanks for proving me right Adam!

All the best.

Nice gesture from Adam, he’s certainly going to be a hard act to follow, talking about ex players, because thats what Adam is now, Carl Frost has just signed for Colwyn Bay, another club pushing tha boat out for promotion this time round, Frosty is one of six new signings already.

Well done Adam. I am sure we will ALL be watching your football career.

Thanks for proving me wrong Adam and I am glad.
Nothing personal,it’s just that recent upheavals made me rather edgy and cantakerous.
All the best at Fleetwood.
May you be their best ever goalscorer.
In peace.

Thanks Adam for two great seasons, good luck to you in your career, please pass on thanks to your parents, watching you and the team, home and away, rain or shine.THANKS again

Good luck Adam, and i wish you a long and sucssesful career, Hope we never have to see you attacking are goal,as you are such a natural goal scorer. thanks for the two years, and please dont take to heart the stupid and insultin comments some morons have said about you on here.

Well done to Adam for coming on here and posting a message to the fans, I’m sure Witton Albion has not seen the last of him. I’m sure if he does decide to visit Wincham Park next season to watch a game, we will make him more than welcome. Lets start a new thread a little less gloomy. He’s gone its dissapointing but on we go to next season.

Nigel Deeleys Red & White Army!!!

good luck with your new club adam, your career (i hope) in football must come first.

just be wary of the free pies and hotcross buns on offer at fleetwood.

Cheers Adam for taking the trouble to say farewell. I really enjoyed watching you play last season, some great goals but above all honest endeavour for the good of the team. Good luck for your future career.

For the rest of us lets hope Nigel can unearth a diamond of similar ability to take us onward.

Thanks for posting Adam. When I said I was dissapointed my thoughts were that I think you could do better than Fleetwood. You are worthy of League football I think mate and would n’t look out of place. However having said that if you are happy signing for Fleetwood then fair do’s. You’ll always be a welcome visitor at our club and I wish you all the best unless of course your playing against us!! Good on you and thanks for the great two years you gave us god knows how we replace you though!!
