He probably could of done better than witton last season but he signed for you for a season
and he definitely could have done better than Fleetwood this season but he’s signed for you for a season.
AND we have great fans that go week in week out. Not like all the Fleetwood that crawled out the woodwork at the last game of the season to see them lift the trophy. Must of all been in a coma for 9 months i suppose
Or playing bowls:laugh:
All the best Adam, thanks for the memories.
Although it has changed mood a little since Adam posted on here - lets offer a bit of support for Nige! He is arguably dealing with a similar situation to what Jim had when he took over, reduced budget, best players leaving as the manager went/budget cut. What had Jim won prior to then - precious little to my knowledge - lets give the man a chance and not shoot him down or heap unnecessary pressure on him!
Can we put as much energy into moving the club forward as commenting on here folks - theres alot to do!
Neil I think Nige is a great guy and I’m not trying to heap pressure on him. I think what I’m trying to say in my clumsy way is that Nige does need help but I think this has to be of the experienced manager type variety. Thats why I think Paul Ogden would have been ideal to help lift some of the more administrative type issues from Nigel leaving him to concentrate on the coaching side of things. Its great us fans are behind him but we can only help via raising money for the budget etc the practical help needs to come from someone who has actually been there and done it before. I hate to say it but even someone like Benny Phillips coming in would be some kind of help. I’m sure Mark and Co are doing all they can behind the scenes and I’m a pain for being impatient but nothing appears to be happening. Yet elsewhere other clubs are getting sorted especially Nantwich who are signing some really good people on. This is the period now where you need to start getting your team sorted. I’m a pain I know I’m so impatient but I’m just passionate that we’ve actually got ourselves in a great position and now it seems to be disintegrating at a great rate of knotts with all the hard work put in by people to increase gates etc likely to be undone unless we get our playing side sorted a little more quickly than appears at the moment.
I’ll get slated for this post I know I will but I bet I’m not alone in thinking this way.I’m going through something of a traumatic period in my life at the moment myself and the likeliehood is that I may have to cut back on watching the team anyway which is not something I’m happy about or indeed want to do but thats life!
Good luck adam!! As one of my fave players, i am gutted to see you go… it has been a pleasure to watch you at witton over the past 2 years, and i wish you all the best for your future career… x
Some more good news… not

Appears that Alty fans have had word that Liam has signed for them.
I’m not worried by him leaving, even though I do think he’s a great player. The worry is that if he is a free agent as stated on the Alty forum, then we’ll probably lose out on £10-£15k.
Well this doesn’t make promising reading…
Hi,
Im speaking on behalf of Liam Brownhill and im glad to say that Liam will be joining alty, hopefully the deal will be concluded by Friday after the FA confirmed that he is a free agent. There was interest from other clubs but the chance to play for his local team is to good of an oppurtunity to turn down.
What a joke. Apparently he wasn’t offered what he wanted to stay at WItton and so decided that his future was at Alty.
I really really am fed up with all this now. Put in perspective these are the same players who were idolised, feted, hero worshipped, really got behind by our fans. The players were the ones who failed all be it narrowly to take us up. For some reason the wheels fell off in the last few weeks of the season. These are also the same players given the opportunity by our great club to showcase their talents. So when the brown stuff hits the fan which is a consequence of THEIR FAILURE what do we hear they want out. I can’t honestly believe that Altrincham could pay much more than us given their financial restrictions and of course your going to be playing in a relegation battle!! They are also letting you great fans down the same fans who are pledging money now so that we can at least pay a semblence of reasonable money for you guys. What price a bit of loyalty!! C’mon lads I thought we were in this together stay and finish the job. Don’t give me the spiele that you’ve got mouths to feed and your struggling so are the fans and they are the one’s making sacrifices by contributing heavily to the budget. I’m really getting irate about all this now!!
I think that the players should stay for another go at the title but that’s just personal opinion. On the other hand, I have no issue if the players want to leave as long as the club get a good deal out of it. The club have invested in these players in the last 2 seasons and let’s be honest, have not had any sort of prize back in return! Yes, we’ve had increased gates etc but when it comes to the cold light of day, they were employed to get promotion and they did not achieve
Well said Mona!!
The harsh reality of football though is that players move on. To be fair to Liam, he hasn’t been one of the top earners at Witton and Alty will be offering him a considerable amount more than we could ever pay.
However, again the way in which this has been handled leaves a sour taste in the mouth. Liam is another player who could of ensured that Witton were looked after when he moved on, it appears he has done everything in his power to ensure that Witton get nothing out of his move. Who was Liam Brownhill when he signed for Witton? Certainly not one of the most promising attack-minded fullbacks in non-league, certainly not an England C regular. Infact, at first he struggled to get into our team on a regular basis!! Witton have given him a lot, and it would have been nice to see him making sure Witton were well rewarded for the leg up that the Club has given him.
My own opinion though is that he is getting advice from a 3rd party who for some reason is determined to hurt Witton.
But i dont want any player to remain at this Club if they don’t want to be here. Witton is a special place to be, and if they have lost sight of that then let them move on. It’s time we started backing those players with the heart to stay, rather than those jumping ship.
NIGEL DEELEY’S RED N WHITE ARMY!!!
At the end of the day Mona it’s the easy way out for them isn’t it?? When the going gets tough rather than right the wrongs these players would rather go where the money is and turn their backs on the club. It’s a lack of commitment and a lack of spirit which might well explain why they have failed so spectacularly two seasons running. That being the case, good riddance.
To be honest I’m very disappointed in how some of the players have handled leaving the club and i totally agree with Robbo’s and Monas posts. If players want to leave or want large wages we can not aford let them go. We will know at the start of next season who really wants to be at Witton and who really loves playing for our club.
NIGEL DEELEY’S RED AND WHITE ARMY!!!
I forgot to say that my post was not aimed at all our players. A certain Policeman who I love the bones of (put in his Liverpool language!!) is probably playing for a fraction of the money he originally commanded. We all know who he is and the thing that really gets me with this was that several of our younger players were actually taking the mickey out of the said policeman when I was conversing with them one evening. I’d like to think it was just banter but our younger starlets need to look at this man and use him as a role model. In fact every footballer in the country should look at him as a role model in this day and age of Greed and slefish behaviour. He’s remarkable, to me he is Witton and as long as he stays you’ve always got a chance!!
Again as for Brownhill a great lad but signing for Alty you’ve no ambition and could have done much better for yourself even if you’d signed on for the unthinkables next door because Alty will be relegation fodder again I’m sure!!
By the way Robbo great point about Brownhill being an normal player before he came to us we’ve helped turn him into an England fullback. I’m sorry I feel bitter but some and I stress some of our so called players make me pig sick we are better off without the ones that are not 100% committed to the cause. Apologies to you all I just feel so angry about all this!!
These players make me laugh they value themselves so highly and yet they have won bugger all and hopefully will cary on doing so. If they want to leave let them they are a bunch of losers at the end of the day with no bottle. Lets hope Nige gets more players in the same vein as Brian Pritchard then finally we may taste sucess. We want winners in our team not a bunch of bottlers who the fans hype up and make them think they are better than what they are.
good luck Nige i am sure you will do us proud.
Well said Joanna.
Nige is a true Wittoner and will do us proud.
As Eddy Grant said," Joanna give me hope".:cheer:
There is always hope as long as we have got the fans they are the real stars of the club.
I think the Doc has been listening to too much Reggae, that is the second mention today!
Well said Jo, fans make the club, we only want players that want to play for the football club. Sadly loyalty in football is becoming a thing of the past.
One thing we know about Nige is that he will go about the job the right way and he has all of our support.
