Albion v Grantham
Not editing my post, my tonuge is still firmly lodged in the same cheek that it was in when I wrote that.
I would never imply that anyone who is seen by the league which they represent to have the integrity needed to be Chairman as Mark Harris is would use that position to influence the committee. Far from it, I suspect the exact opposite, a higher than most regard for the impartiality of the post he holds.
So why write what you did? Tongue in cheek or not you ARE implying that Mark Harris would not be impartial.

Perhaps you need to swallow your pride and delete your comment.

I wasn’t at the game but have spoken to people who were and nobody has said that the result was directly affected by the change in strip. We were poor, simple as that.

However IF rules were broken then surely that is something that should be looked at by the league? What if either team had played an unregistered player? That would constitute a rule breach and the offending team would be punished. So why can’t this be at least looked at by the league?

I am not advocating that the game is replayed however this incident needs to be closely looked at by the league and perhaps the referee reported to the FA for his performance. I’m told there was an assessor there yesterday.

The breach of rules might be viewed as disadvantaging the losing team. Does that imply it was an advantage to the winning team? If so, please explain what advantage it was not to know what colour your opponentes were wearing from one minute to the next?

Had we lost, you would clearly be calling for the game to be replayed as your side and our goalkeeper were all wearing blue for 45 minutes. That was as much a disadvantage as" who is that blue shirt?"

You really should try and avoid the standard response when you disagree with a statement. An IQ challenge (is some ways a self reflecting statement?), particularly in this case is wholly inappropriate. My reference was to the league’s own edict to its clubs when the sponsorships changed over that clubs would be fined if the Unibond logo was shown in their ground - ask Mark, I am sure he remembers it. I know he insisted your side changed their shirts at half time because of the logos.
The most accurate post (in my beleif) in this whole thread says that we could have played in skins and you would not have won.

Fact is you lost a game that I am sure Central Grounder is not alone in thinking was a cast iron 3 pointer for you (I include some of our travelling fans in that).

Can rabbitsopinion put the twitter account? I have not read it, sounds interesting.

Good luck for the rest of the season. I am sure when you come to ours, Brian Pritchard will have a few things to say to your team about getting their own back.

You are still avoiding the fact that you HAVE implied that our chair is not impartial.
However it appears that you will not accept your wrongdoing and its not so much the tongue in your cheek you want to explain its having your head planted up your own backside.
I’m sure nobody wants to take anything away from the 3 points you took, lets be fair it’s been a while since you have tasted victory so consider it a gift. But we will be looking for them back when we come to your place.
Oh and don’t worry about kit clashes there. We are more professional than to allow that to happen as a a visiting team as we plan ahead.

The advatage has nothing to do with colours it has to do with psychology this was a pyschological victory for Grantham in that the Witton players were made to look humiliated in having to change from their home strip in front of their own fans. We dont know what effect, annoyance, sense of injustice, doubt this put into the players minds, we will never know but there is no doubt that we should not be in the position of saying what if.

Personally I think that Grantham have embarrassed the brand of the evo stick league and non league in general no matter which club they had gone to. If you ade not professional and organised enough to hec what strip to take and bring a back up then you dont deserve to be in this league at all.

How about when we play you at your place, we play in our home kit and you play in mickey mouse outfits?

I hope the league punish you for ruining the brand of non league football and helping to pit people off wAtching non league

and if hou dont. elie e in pyschological advantage speak to Kevin Keegan.

OK, bored of this now.

Witton were awful, the game was poor. Anything else is none of our concern as supporters.

Roll on Saturday, and an opportunity to right some wrongs.

It is our. oncern as supporters if we are trying to persuade people to watch Witton and telling them how professionally it is run oy to be pit into a embarrasing situation by away team and officials

And just because you are bored it should not be discussed? I didnt realise it was your forum maybe it should be renamed.

Care to provide your dossier of evidence?

I think it is our concern. I am concerned that the game became farcical Pritch was going mad and I actually thought he was disputing something and the ref was going over to book him a couple of times. IF one of the teams were to be enforced to change strip it should have been the away team, we were at home playing in our home kit (playing pretty poorly yes, but it was only twenty minutes in!). I dont blame Grantham and wish them well for the rest of the season but the shambolic officials (ALL of them) perpetrated a bloody farce!

Care to provide your dossier of evidence?
I dont need one 429 people witnessed the fact that you failed to to turn up in a suitable strip.
QED

Clearly not as far as the ref was concerned or he would have asked us to change it BEFORE kick off. Our change kit is all red - would you rather we wore that?

Can’t wear one with Unibond on it

Anybody with any clue about football will realise that Witton were not to blame.

Meanwhile, any casual observer reading this thread would think we were a bunch of bitter, petty, poor losers.

Of the 2 things, i know which would be more inclined to put me off watching Witton.

Indeed Robbo, and nor were we. As can be seen from the league website, we have two kits (like most sides), neither are ideal when playing a side in red and white stripes. We brought the one which appeared less clashing. Our change shirt last season was also red, so not apporpriate either. Anything before that has Unibond on it, so also not appropriate. I am sure you would not expect us to purchase a third kit for one game a season?
I am sure the two Secretaries consulted during the week before we set off with the kit we did.
I have seen a referee play the whole game before with Grantham playing in black and white stripes and Blyth Spartans in green and white ones, now THAT was confusing.

People we are trying to persuade are not reading this forum, they are often people who think that football at this level is not worth paying to watch and is not run professionally. Teams turning up with a red strip when they now we play in red and then useless officials turning it into a far s does not help convince people that this level is worth paying for. Even if we had won it would still have looked ridiculous.

Care to provide your dossier of evidence?
Why should he, you make outlandish claims based on no evidence.

For the benefit of the linesman watching in black and white the player in black is behind the player in red…

Which bit of black and white stripes looks red to you WWWitton? WE DID NOT TURN UP IN A RED KIT bangwall bangwall bangwall

So far this season games have been delayed whilst we find balls that are pumped up, and the even more embarrassing moment where a game was delayed whilst dog mess was removed from the pitch.

Yet not a peep on here?

The only people still debating it are us lot! Seriously, what’s the point?!

The ref has messed up. But the Witton performance will have more baring on whether people come to the next home game or not.

Unfortunately, due to the result of the match, anybody reading this forum will view most posts as nothing more than sour grapes.

Witton are completely blameless with the kit scenario, that is a certainty.

I also think it was ludicrous that WE had to change ON THE SIDE OF THE PITCH. That must have been humiliating for our lads, we even got relegated in that yellow top.

I quite like the blue one now though, hated it at the time. Can we keep it?
