Had our team shown any two of those this evening, we would have taken the three points. Instead, we displayed none of those attributes whilst our opponents showed all three, and a game which was ours for the taking was thrown away.
Why the hell did we stop doing what was working so well? Excellent passing football played where it will hurt the opposition, in the final third, and a willingness to shoot when the opportunity arose gave us a well deserved 2 - 0 lead. Then we stopped. To call some of our defending schoolboyish would be unfair to schoolboys. We seemed to suddenly display a collective lack of intelligence, massively overplaying the ball in areas where it was dangerous to us, and we stopped shooting. We stopped running, literally in some cases.
All credit to Marine, they came back into a game in which they were being completely outplayed and in my opinion deservedly took the three points, purely because they wanted to win.
Very, very disappointing because in my opinion we lost not because of ability, but attitude.
Yes, spot on Mike. The saddest thing is that no one can be really surprised that we lost that because from the half hour onward it was back to the bad old days of kind of saying to the opposition, hey, we’ve done really well but now we’re going to take a breather, lose all our momentum and you can slowly come to dominate and nick a win. I have to say that some of our players are falling short at this level on the evidence of the two games so far and some hard decisions need to be made promptly before the confidence drops and we are marooned with only a long hard season of struggle ahead of us.
As soon as marine scored the first we stopped playing football. Instead chose to hoof it at every given opportunity. Putting ourselves under pressure time and time again. Only going to be one winner playing like that. Can’t wait to have sheens and Powell back really missing those 2 imo. Need to put it right on Saturday!
God1 It sounds horrendous. I had to go once I had done the gate as I had a meeting at 8-00pm but it sounds like I did not miss much. Let us hope it is early season nerves and we settle down soon.

From what I could see, the first half hour was excellent from an Albion point of view. We played free-flowing passing football on the floor and scored two excellent goals. Four minutes after we went two up, they pulled one back then we seemed to panic and stopped doing the things we had done earlier. Marine then took hold of the game and caused us problems especially down the flanks. The second half was mostly one way traffic and they scored twice and pehaps could’ve had more.
Yes we have not got off to the greatest start, but we are only two games in. We played some good stuff in the first half hour and i’m sure that we will improve…starting Saturday! UTA
Trouble is we are more than 2 games in ! the preseason was on the whole awful, so far we are definitely missing powell and Sheehan, who for me would replace platt and james, glover does not look entirely comfortable at left back and seems out of position too much for comfort and we have been exposed both by buxton and marine however he is a centre back really and learning the role - time will tell if he can adapt ? up front well we really miss Tuck and have not replaced him, Foster seems unfit or certainly not sharp and Wilson im not sure about but with Tuck he might be a good threat- having said all that as otheres have said we did play well for 30 minutes then hoof ! we forgot to play football or ran out of energy to play the high tempo pressing and passing game and we always looked like losing it from then, Marine seemed to sense our panic and pressed home there advantage. Do we know when Tuck and Sheehan will be avaialable ? Powell has another 2 games out I think ! and I dont see Thomspon getting in the start 11 only as an impact sub was hoping for more out of our signings and I am sure we will bring in a couple more yet - Pritch will know more than anyone the issues and cares passionately and the mgt team around him are great so confident we will get it right but there is work to do.
Glover should be comfortable at left back, Neville is injured, Foster landed back off holiday back end of last week, Powell has 2 more to go, Sheens is on holiday, welcome to the wonderful world of non league
The game was lost in the middle of the park in my opinion, Olly James being captain lost his bite as he was trying to lead by example which is great but we needed him at his usual bone crunching self as Marine were horrible and we had no bite back, Glover was left exposed time and time again as we failed to keep the ball high up the pitch.
We need Shaun Tuck back as soon as possible he just puts defenders on the back foot at every opportunity, he hasn’t been suspended by the FA yet so no reason why he can’t be in the squad Saturday!
Lets not get to down if after 10 games we are still without a win then we will panic
No Panic here, just a view, and I trust Pritch to sort it out ! interested to see what he does, fozzie didnt look sharp before his holiday ? and I can see us reverting pretty soon to last seasons 11 without matty wood and wilson in for fozzie with Tuck back (and yes id play him for sure so long as he meets the clubs requirements) based on all the games ive seen so far and i only missed one so far, i think we will certainly beat the lesser teams but buxton and marine are quite strong and with a weakened team we were just not good enough…
Can we really play Shaun Tuck given his racist outburst? We have a reputation of being a “Family Club” will it not hurt that reputation if we take him back? Oh I know there will be people saying it is all about football not politics but I for one would find it a bitter pill to swallow having an avowed and outspoken racist in our team and God alone knows what reaction he will get from opposition supporters. But if we don’t take him back can we find a suitable replacement? I am glad it is not my decision because it is not an easy one. As for the team, I have confidence in Mr. Pritchard, he knows his stuff and will sort things out I am sure.
Not sure I can agree that Shaun should be welcomed back. What he said was racist in the extreme and I have seen no retraction from Shaun so presumably he still holds the same views. Those views do not in any way fit in with our “Family Club” image. If he retracts publicly then that might be different.

i hear what whs is saying but in the football league we have players playing now who have served time in jail for rape, killing people whilst drunk driving, and racist outbursts also the ones who have been to jail have served the sentence handed out by the courts and not had a ban of the fa so lets see if the fa keep to there normal standards or change as shaun is a none league player who probably cant afford to get a top lawyer to fight them

(2)A person is guilty of an offence if, for the purpose of causing annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety to another, he—
(a)sends by means of a public electronic communications network, a message that he knows to be false,
(b)causes such a message to be sent; or
(c)persistently makes use of a public electronic communications network.
(3)A person guilty of an offence under this section shall be liable, on summary conviction, to imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or to a fine not exceeding level 5 on the standard scale, or to both.
(4)Subsections (1) and (2) do not apply to anything done in the course of providing a programme service (within the meaning of the Broadcasting Act 1990 (c. 42)).
