Are 1874 in freefall ?

No its not deliberate He just is stupid - cannot understand a statement or facts, its sad for him really.

I have been at Wincham park for quite a number of the Vics games this season. The opposing teams are generally quite interested in the state of play with the Vics. Most of them have a sincere desire to see Vics saved and to prosper. Its also quite telling that many of them (the visitors) cannot understand the reasons for 1874ā€™s existence, nor the animosity between both clubs.

If 1874 think that with the demise of Vics that they so earnestly seek, that they (1874) will embody the spirit of Vics and own the mantle and standards of the once proud club, I think they are mistaken. 1874 have a long, long way to go to win hearts and minds of casual observers and their continual jibing and provocation of the Vics supporters trying to save the club isnā€™t helping their cause.

Oh dear 2012 Winsford Lost at title favourites Atherton ! what a shame, looks like another season in the dog and duck league for them, if we do get promoted this season that will put the distance between us where it should be at least 2 leagues.

Have you not enlightened these opposing teams as to how ā€œThe Vicsā€ have taken the rest of the football family for mugs by their continual living beyond their means and not paying for anything and losing their ground and alienating their fans to such an extent that some of them felt they had no alternative but to form a fan run club to live within itā€™s means? 1874 fans were all Vics fans who were sick and tired of being lied to again and again. Are you not aware of what happened at Chester, Hereford, Kings Lynn, Salisbury City Etc Etc. Grow a pair and support the football family. NO ONE should be wanting to see any football club like Vics ā€œsaved and prosperā€ they ought to have been wound up or liquidated some time ago!!

Cruel, but true. And as for 1890 fans who claim to be whiter than white, how many did NOT go to the big FA Cup games when Vics were on a roll?
WHS.

Not ALL 1874 fans were Vics fans. It is possible that 1874 have captured the imagination of new fans. After all itā€™s a far more welcoming and positive place than The swamp right now.
Even after saturdays loss thereā€™s positivity around the fans.
As for Vics itā€™s a shame but they need to just call it a day. After all there is a viable alternative

how can it be welcoming and positive when you play in Winsford at Barton stadium lol

1874 who? Did they get beat this weekend? Theyā€™ll be after the gaffers head againā€¦ who are ya

In response to Alan walkers comment about Witton not being welcoming, I was a regular at Anfield until 6 years ago when I took my son to watch Witton as Liverpool were away.
We were welcomed with open arms and we immediately felt like part of the family and Iā€™ve not been to Anfield since. Within that season I got to know pretty much everyone there, including the manager, players and even the chairman! Now it feels like I have been a Wittoner all of my life.

Good for you Witton Massive. Pleased for you that you have been made to feel welcome.

Did you realise that is remotely possible at other clubs as well. You chose Witton which is on you but others on here seem to think the world revolves around Winchimp park and no other team would be capable of producing such a positive feelings.

I follow 1874. In a sick way I like to see you lot do ok as well as Iā€™m proud of Northwich as a town and my family has been here for generations.

I just wonder how some of you would feel if this whole situation was the other way round, which it could easily of been. Or do we just ignore the history you do passionately bang on about?!

How much of the land money is the club seeing? Or is going to pay off some debts. Be careful or those debts could soon mount up especially when your tenants stop paying (if they havenā€™t already).

But Iā€™m glad you all get so passionately worked up about 1874. Shows how much you are threatened by us and are desperate to keep us out of the town!!

Mind the gap fellas.

Werenā€™t you very vocal about calling for your two previous managers heads?

Love it when they biteā€¦ bless

AW. Itā€™s only by chance that I ended up being a Wittoner. I asked my lad if he wanted to go and watch Witton or v*cs and he picked Witton only because they play in red!
Iā€™ve had the conversation with other Witton lads regarding what weā€™d do in your situation and for me personally Iā€™d stick with the real Albion rather than the breakaway team or walk away altogether, which I know some of your lot did do.
Personally Iā€™m a Northwich lad born and bred and I think it is a shame whatā€™s happened, I grew up on Belmont Road in rudheath (donā€™t know if you know it?) but we could hear the noise from the Drill field when we having a kick about on the field.
As for the 1666 lot, bring it on! Whatā€™s the point in football if you havenā€™t got a local derby to get excited about!?
UTA

I remember kickbouts on Belmot Road in the fifties and sixties, great fun. Anyway Mr Walker, were you at the big FA Cup ties or not?
WHS.

How can anyone who doesnā€™t support Witton comment on how welcoming our club is.
Iā€™ve been a Wittoner for over 40 years ,my Dad a lot longer and have always felt at home at Wincham Park and before that the Central Ground, in fact I practically grew up on the Central Ground.
At the moment the feel good factor within our club is better than I can remember in long time.
Take a look at the thread started by WHS regarding his book and look at the names people have posted , note how fondly these people are remembered.
Iā€™m proud to be a Wittoner, always have been and always will be.
I for one have no interest in any other club in the area but when criticism is pointed at our well run , welcoming club it does amuse me.

How can anyone who doesnā€™t support 1874 comment on what we do? At least Iā€™ve been to some of your games. This season in fact.

The two clubs arenā€™t that different other than Witton have been around a lot longer obviously. But that means theyā€™ve had more lows (and highs).

But when you look at the here and now. Two clubs with passionate fans. Some absolute berks as well mind you. However we have got bragging rights over the latest silverware

You have your opinions about my club. I have mine about yours. And the cyber bullies on here who are dead brave from behind a laptop are just proving that some of you are threatened by us.

Enjoy your time in the sunshine because it might not be long before you are back in the shadows, as you were for most of your history.

At no point have I commented on your club and certainly have no intention of ever posting on your forum.
I have on numerous occasions on this forum stated my objection to our fans engaging in arguments with fans from other certain teams and I know a lot of Wittoner feel the same way.
I have no interest in your club, whatsoever, what you do , where you play or your plans in the future. At the end of the day you were all V**s fans at some point and I donā€™t expect you to like Witton however I agree local rivalries are good for the future of local football and long may that continue.
All Iā€™m concerned about is the future of Witton Albion and and the moment the feel good factor around the club is second to none
If Iā€™m honest if we played you with our full first team out I honestly dont think youā€™d beat us, this is the best Witton side Iā€™ve seen in a Long time

Charliebel I donā€™t disagree with anything you say there. And Iā€™m sure if you did put out your full team you would beat us. You should on paper.

If only a few of your fellow fans would take a leaf out of your book but they are the ones who will end up with egg on their faces

Alan, you offered the olive branch to WHS. Iā€™ll be at Wincham Park on Tuesday if you want to come and stand behind the goal with the Witton massive?

not sure what you are going on about

The Victoria Stadium was not ours, it belonged to the bank and prior to that Mr Connett,
Do you think Vics could afford to buy/play the ground on the gates we were getting
even if Mr Rushe had bought the ground it would still not be ours , it would of belonged Mr Rushe or one of his mystery investors. the Stadium would now be derilict as Vics would not be able to afford play, the rates alone at the VS were 12k, adding onto that Gas, Electricity, water, telephone, Ground and pitch maintenance plus some sort or rental or loan repayment.

We have reduced the wage bill right down now to around Ā£600/Ā£700 per week and if we can get through this season playing in a ground which we can afford.

Iā€™m really confused do you want Vics to play in a ground vics which it cannot afford or play in a different ground which it can afford

plus 1874 fans are no angels they have been going around spreading lies than pinocchio, they canā€™t seem to grasp the fact that Vics made around 87k from last seasons FA Cup/Trophy run and think Mr Rushe has been paying the rent when the club had enough income last year to cover our costs.
