BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY

Please note: The Bank Holiday Monday Derby fixture against Northwich Victoria will now kick off at 7.45pm.

Why why why???
Crazy decision in my opinion, a banker 3pm bank holiday crowd now gone?
Plus an extra few hours drinking which could lead to problems!
Who and why made this decision?

why has my reply been removed

There must be a logical explanation for this?

Count me out.

It is because of The Festival of Sport at Moss Farm during the day.

Strange decision imo. If witton and vics fans wanted to go the game they would do regardless of the Festival of Sport which I would think not many local football fans will attend anyway. I reckon we’ll lose about 50% of the gate by people doing other things on bank holiday now and not wanting to have a late night before most people return to work on the Tuesday.

The last time this happened, the evening kick off put between 150 - 200 on the gate.

not a strange decision to me,the witton board think of us fans least most of the times

This sounds like the real reason then rather than a silly festival at Moss Farm!
As someone said any true supporter would be at the 3pm kick off not up at Moss Farm and now people will have to work the next morning the bar profits will be affected big time

typical of our board to please everybody else rather than their own fans

Wittoners moaning again… Surprise. Hardly that big a deal.

Hmmm, not sure it will this time but I guess we’ll see. I just hope that all those that were heading up to the club for a few beers in the afternoon don’t all drive up instead with it being an evening kick off.

Not moaning simply commenting on what seems a bizarre decision! Personally I would have put £20 behind the bar and I’m sure there are many others like me, both wittoners and vics fans. I won’t be now as I’ll be driving! Ever heard of constructive criticism?

Same here Paul, plus for a 3pm kick off the Club is open from 12 till well after the game ends, with an evening kick off the club rarely gets busy until 7 15pm and most people head straight home at full time so any extra revenue on the gate (which i very much doubt) is lost on the lack of money taken in the bar

Absolutely. I thought the whole point of the leagues organising these local derbies on bank holidays, boxing day etc was to boost attendances and make it easier for fans of both clubs to attend. This game could take place on any Monday night throughout the season! The only opportunity to play it on a Monday afternoon when people are on holiday and would throw some money behind the bar is now gone.

I agree with my Witton friends that a bank holiday evening get kickoff is crackers.

It is not the Festival of Sport - it is Northwich Festival.
There is no sport involved.

Mondays events -

Car Boot (£7 per pitch)

Strongman

Classic car show

Landrover display

OMG Acoustic music

Bolddog Lings Motor cycle stunt display

My apologies for that but the whole point is the event taking place at Moss Farm, is the reason behind the decision to move the kick off.

So a non sporting show 4 miles away is the reason for us moving the biggest game of the season :woohoo:

What next? Our Boxing day fixture moved because ITV 2 are showing The Wizard of Oz at the same time?
