Fair enough. Just intrigued where the additional 150-200 referred to in earlier posts will come from. According to my calculations the attendance should be something like this:
367 (our home game last Saturday, with no away fans)
141 (V*cs on Tuesday night)
150-200 “extras”
Total = 708
The 150 - 200 referred to in earlier posts was the estimated number of additional fans who attended that Bank Holiday Fixture against Warrington Town on Easter Monday 2012. The game was scheduled for the afternoon and was moved to the evening, it was estimated that 150 - 200 more fans turned up than perhaps would’ve done if the kick off hadn’t been moved.
Its disappointing that nobody is looking at the Festival of Sport as an opportunity for the club. I bet Kronenberg have a presence. Since everybody now has a free afternoon how about getting some junior membership cards off Titch, putting a Witton polo shirt on and going down and handing some out to the local kids?
Robbo and I did it last year and took Matt Woolley and Ben with us, so maybe the club would allow one of the first team to attend too, depending on match preparations.
There might even be a chance that we could attract fans from Nantwich Town, as they are at home to Buxton in the afternoon.
I have put a thread on the NPL page on Nonleaguezone in a bid to attract a few extra spectators
cant see how’d we attract fans from another club to travel to our game when it’s hard enough to get our own fans to turn up
The Non League Groundhoppers are a strange breed and theres plenty out there believe me its just a case of giving them a reason to visit a particular part of the country but the chance of 2 games in a day is usually enough to entice them from the platforms of train stations up and down the land.
There easy to spot as they tend to have holdalls and anoraks and will hunt down a teamsheet before purchasing a programme and the all important visit to a club shop to try and buy a badge.
I’m certainly well chuffed as I CAN now attend!

Oooops didn’t count you Blackie, sorry mate! 709! :clap
Only a suggestion is to maybe, which I don’t mind helping out, is to get some flyers printed about the match and handing them out around town next weekend and at the festival too on Monday afternoon.
really looking forward to the match, could be a top of the table clash if both teams win Tomorrow
Blackie & Co will prob be hiding outside the ground in the bushes spying on us after the game.

Firstly, Buckley…your a dick! Can you fit in the help around your paper round!?? mooney
No one wants to watch the dodgy non tax paying team, where as being witton are the home team they will receive the gate receipts so happy to donate my money to the honest stable club.
Secondly Paul, I probably will be attending as I’m on days, finish at 7 so I can make it in time, and as Paul hurst probably owes me a pint and I get to stand and annoy the many wittoners I work with it’s worth the effort.
As there won’t be many vics fans there you’ll need all the help you can get to reach that 700 mark!

I was joking re the 708 figure, don’t think it will be near that realistically but I’d love to be proved wrong. UTA
I think you could get near the 600 mark tbh.
Many like me who like to watch matches as a neutral may show up and it’s been a while since a witton/vics Derby so it may intice a few out of the woodwork.
I wish you all the best as the money will be going in your pot.
Nothing much better in life than a Witton v Vics Derby, must be one of the oldest derbies in the uk now.
This is really boring now why are we not discussing tomorrow’s game? really fed up of reading green comments on a red forum.

Ahh the good old days when you had loyal supporters who weren’t alienated by tyrant owners and the club didn’t have a reputation for not paying their debts!! mooney
Tell you what blackie. If you get Paul Hurst to buy a pint I’ll shake your hand even if you are wearing green!!
The clues in the title johno!! Bank holiday Monday is the date of the Derby.
Tomorrows game will be under another topic!
Not rocket science sonny!
