I can see the reason for segregation, but seems pointless when fans will be mingling together before the match and at halftime in the bar. I was talking to a chester fan today and he reckons they will be bringing around 500 fans.

Have to accept the clubs decision on segregation, but considering the very good relationship between the two clubs in the recent past, it is a shame that the remote chance of a few knuckle dragging brain doners causing trouble has led to this. The only fighting many of us will be doing is for breath on the walk from the car park.

why are we getting put in the away end?

Probably because there will be a lot more Chester fans than Albion supporters ? I can remember this happening before where we have played teams with an expected large away support.

Another question though - are we opening the Vics tea Bar? If not I can’t see the Chester fans being too happy that we have a tea bar open and they don’t or are both tea bars closed and the refreshments in the club only ?

We segregated fans against FC United a couple of years ago and gave them the home end although there were plenty of their supporters in the Lostock end too, both sets of supporters were drinking in the Social club without any issues.
In the Conference every club segregate away fans so the Chester fans will be used to it, it’s a shame but i understand why the decision has been taken.
Let’s just hope it’s a cracking game with a good atmosphere and no trouble

500 fans can fit in the Lostock end so I don’t see the issue. Home tie yet not allowed home end. Hmmmm…

Update:

Chester fans are being given the Chapel Street (Wincham ) End, due to the anticipated numbers and for segregation purposes. Both Tea Bars inside the stadium will be open.

What’s the point in segregatng the fans when they are going to be drinking in the club house together? Surely alcohol is the primary factor in any trouble…

you can fit 1000+ in the lostock end so put them in there.whoever made this decision needs to have a re-think as we are the HOME team but as the the norm the die hard witton fans are being shafted again.

There is a legal duty for Witton Albion to ensure fan safety, if any trouble did occur we could be liable for any non segregation and further No Witton fan is being shafted -its just applying common sense in :

1). Using our segregation facility and
2). Giving the larger end to Chester who will certainly have the larger capacity requirement on the day

This has been applied several times before in all the large attendance games and has worked very well so why take any risks.

we’re virtually giving up home advantage and if they do bring 500 why do they need 3 sides of the ground and as was stated earlier we’ll be in the club together drinking so that makes a mockery of segregation but as long as people spend their money thats all that seems to matter.

When Chester FC last visited it was in the league during their rise back up. It was an evening game and they brought a fair few hundred, possibly 400-500, they had the Lostock end with segregation in place. There was no trouble.

When FC UTD came they could have won promotion that day and they brought 900-1000 and had the Wincham end. In the second half they were let into the Lostock end too and some were singing among us, this was very annoying and I did ask one of our stewards why. There was no trouble though and there is no segregation in the social club.

Anyway the decision has been made on the basis of Chester having more fans there than us and it won’t be changed now so lets support our brilliant lads as best we can (our 190 made some noise on Tuesday) COME ON THE ALBIOOOON!!

It really doesn’t matter where we stand to watch this amazing team and not having the Wincham end will make no difference whatsoever. It will just be nice to see a crowd at the Netdec and watch the lads rise to the occasion once again. UTA

It didn’t work well, we lost

Was thinking of coming to first match of the season but not standing in the away end for a home tie again. We were drawn at home.

Personally I couldn’t give a monkeys where I am stood as long as I am amongst my Witton friends and family at our fantastic little club. The players, management and so many good people at the club have worked their nuts off for US this season to get us this far in the trophy, frankly I find some people moaning about where they are going to be stood (if they bother to turn up) absolutely appalling. This team will not give a stuff which end they kick towards first and we will be outnumbered anyway so not sure how we are giving home advantage away.

I’m more concerned about everyone getting down to WP and getting behind our team. Calling ALL Wittoners (and all other locals) this team is a joy to watch and more than deserves a good turn out this Saturday. PLEASE get yourselves down to WP to cheer them on! UTA

can,t moan about the team so lets find somthing else to moan about.

So you expect us to win this one?
