Bury FC v. Witton Albion

Witton’s penultimate game of the season couldn’t be more difficult as they travel to league leaders Bury FC on Saturday afternoon.

Ben Harrison’s team go into the game in eighth place in the table and in good form.

Four successive away wins and eight wins in the last eleven games have given Witton the chance of finishing in the top eight but points are still there to be played for.

Five wins and a draw in their last six games have put the Shakers in prime position to clinch the title, but Avro are ready to pounce if there are any slip-ups being only two points behind.

Witton have shown that they are more than capable of putting a spanner in the works, having performed well against the top teams throughout the season.

A 3-0 win at the U Lock It Stadium in November was a tremendous result for the Albion but the game ahead will see different circumstances that they will face.

The expected large crowd will be roaring the home team on and Witton will be hoping to quieten them as much as possible.

Playing against the top teams appears to bring the best out of Witton so hopefully they can produce it once again.

Bury’s aim will be to try and secure the title early but Witton will be looking to make them wait for a little longer.

Players who could possibly be on show are Harry Brazel in the Albion line-up, who had a spell with Bury whilst former Albion midfielder Cameron Fogerty could feature for the Shakers, although he hasn’t always been a starter.

A tough test lies ahead but Witton rise to the challenge when they have to and they will need to, if they are to get the right result.

Quite a game to watch today before more than 6000 in the NPL West!

But whilst they are title favourites, we can upset the AppleCart, because we are in good form ourselves.

Team wise I assume that Alfie Bairstow is still out but that Tom Hoyle may be back, so I would go 4 4 2 with

Terry

Cook, Ebhote, Dufton-Kelly, Bembo-Leta

Hamman, Lawrie, Brazel, Edwards

Hoyle, Garbutt

Good luck to whoever plays. UTA

Looking forward to this game. I agree with. C. J. formation 4 4 2 suits us better, let’s hope we can cause an upset today and get a win to keep us in 8th position.

Good luck guys. :+1:
