2-0 down.
3-0 down.
Result dosen’t matter now, just hope Clegg is ok.
as has been said before “funny old game” when things seem to be falling into place with a settled squad somethings bound to come along and bit yer on the bum. result doesn’t matter today, just hope Cleggs injury is not to serious. Get well soon mate.
Hope Joe is ok.
Can anyone from the club update us on his condition?
The result did become somewhat unimportant once Joe went off.
We played the better football.
If the ref had had the balls to send their no 10 off as he should have done in the first half then it could have levelled things up a bit.
result don,t matter hope joe gets better soon
Good news Joe was discharged from hospital and the team bus was picking him up.
Not having a sub keeper on the bench cost us dearly today - to be fair to Pritch a proper goalie would have saved goals 2 3 and 4. The referee was shocking Joe was laid out before Carlton put the ball in the net and if it had been a Premiership game the goal would have been disallowed. 2nd half we were easily the better team and it was no surprise that their goalie was MOM. The referee chickened out over Carltons No 10 when he should have been shown a second yellow card.
Also think it is time Pritch was restored to centre back.
Joe Clegg is a great young keeper all the best to him I really hope he is completely ok!! As has been said the result obviously becomes unimportant in those circumstances! Did the referee actually see our keeper was seriously injured when he allowed the goal? If so he should never ever be allowed near a football pitch ever again, what a disgrace!!
Best wishes to Joe Clegg hope he’s better soon.
Thought we tried really hard as a team second half and deserved alot more than we got!
Agree main priority is Joe and hope that he will be back playing soon. 4 1 flatters them but circumstances were difficult with Joe going off after 15 mins and it must affect the players when they see a fellow player stretched off like that. Still not convinced about Rudd, he looks very suspect at centre back when the forwards are a bit nippy-gives 100% but sometimes that isn’t enough!!

Joe was discharged from hospital about 17:30ish, and we picked him and Mark up from Nottingham hospital on the way home.
Thankfully he has recovered, albeit a bit groggy and a very sore head. However, I don’t think he will be available for about a week at least.
Good news about Joe.
It’s sickening to see a player stretchered off like that and Joe’s welfare was more important than the result, fortunately he was released early evening which is great news. Well done to the home side for their handling of the situation and their concern.
Team’s often gamble on not having a reserve keeper (due to the cost no doubt), but it shows what a dangerous strategy this is. We’ll need a replacement for Tuesday at least and probably next Saturday, not sure what the ruling is regards head injuries and time before a player can play again?
Pritch was brave enough to go in goal, unfortunately I think he was at fault trying to come out so far for their second but overall as a stand in keeper he did very well in the second half. Not an easy thing to do and it underlines his unrelenting commitment to the club.
We didn’t just lose this game based on losing Clegg, at 3-1 down we had plenty of chances to score more and potentially take a point. Yazzy is right, we deserved more for our second half performance and 4-1 flattered Carlton.
It is beyond me (given that manager was a defender himself) why we continue to play two forwards in the back four. Tandy has been excellent in the last couple of games pushing forward. The reality is Tandy will go if he continues to be put at full back, not even he knows why he is playing there!
Rudd is a striker playing in defense, fine for the short term as cover but he will always be a striker in defense! If the excuse is that he has lost a couple of yards of pace then that makes him a slow striker not a first choice defender! Don’t get me wrong I like Ruddy and his character/commitment is good, but that still does not make the manager’s decision a good one!
Pritch and Neville clearly are not rated by the manager, who I think was the only person in the ground yesterday that would have left Neville on the bench and played Tandy at the back.
The bizarre decisions are unlikely to change, Dylan is the latest to be out of favour with the manager, he didn’t travel yesterday.
We have a huge hole in the centre of midfield, I think Ryan has put 100% into his last two games, but it is unfair on the lad to ask him to put two 90 min performances in at this level. He has done well but we need a proven tough midfielder in the middle to control the game.
Fortunately the rest of this league is rubbish, none of the top five won yesterday and we are still very much in touch. We have however lost 6 games already this season and if we are not careful our fragile league position will see us drop to half way by Christmas unless we get some stability and make some rational decisions.
KTF will become LTF before long!
Your post is spot on Wincham Rabbit
Lee Neville should be left back, Jamie Tandy should be left midfield/wing, simples! (Jamie Tandy was superb against Brigg town, but only due to injury forcing a change cos he started at the back for that game too!!)
Good to hear that Joe Clegg is ok!!!
In the cold light of day, once yesterday’s emotions have passed, that is a very astute summary.
What is going on?
Good post Rabbit ! As posted earlier Pritch needs to be back at centre half alongside Boothy. If Rudd can’t do it up front then he should be released. The referee was poor yesterday but I think my emotions over Joe’s injury got the better of me and I should not have had a go at him at half-time. That said I still think the goal should have been chalked off.
No satisfaction gained in being right or wrong, we need to play as a team, for each other and based on solid formations which the players understand and believe in. I don’t think we have that, so whether my opinion is unpalatable or not I think it is a reasonably correct reflection of where we are!
I actually don’t think Ruffer has done much wrong in for Pritch, Ruffer is a pretty decent and experienced football, however we already had one of these and I fail to see that he brings much different despite being considerably more expensive. I would argue that Pritch actually offers more in terms of commitment to the cause and the organisation of those around him on the pitch, his is the only voice you ever hear!
My current starting 11 based on budget/performance/shape;
Clegg
Adams Booth Pritch Neville
Maylett Henry Broadhead Tandy
Foster Moseley
I think we could also consider 4-3-3 with Rudd and at times 4-5-1 with Rudd or Moseley playing behind Foster (in a Sheringham type role)
In terms of most need;
Central Midfielder (box to box player with stamina, experience to support Henry). This is a main gap as I see it.
Right Back (I think Dylan has done OK but a more solid right back to support Brad would be very useful). An example is on the other side of the pitch where Neville and Tandy are building a good partnership (when allowed to).
Striker (a young front runner, we have good aerial strength but need someone to vary our play, potentially loan signing from a bigger club, we’ve had a few like this, someone who will chase anything!)
Goalkeeper (we need cover, not sure whether the lad we brought in for Prescot is still an option).
The irony is I think our record over 16 games shows that scoring goals and conceding goals are not our biggest weaknesses!!! There is a huge void in the middle and attacking and defending starts in midfield. At times we may have to sacrifice width in certain games (playing one winger based upon where they are making most impact) and having 3 strong midfielders to stop us being over run.
