Clitheroe v. Witton Albion

Witton are on the road on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Clitheroe in a Northern Premier League West Division fixture.

Three wins in a row have lifted the Albion to eleventh in the table and they will be hoping to continue that run, in what is always a difficult place to go.

Ben Harrison’s team have seen an improvement in recent form with four wins in their last five games, the only blemish being a defeat at Avro despite a decent performance.

Clitheroe go into the game in fourteenth place, two points worse off than Witton but with a game in hand.

They have been victorious in each of their last three home games including a 9-1 thrashing of Darlaston Town.

Their last game saw them beaten at Chasetown a week ago so they will be looking to get back to winning ways once again.

Their performance in the Isuzu FA Challenge Trophy, which saw them reach the fourth round has meant they had to play catch-up in the league but they are now concentrating on the league.

Witton will be looking to complete the league double over their Lancashire opponents following a narrow 1-0 win at the U Lock It Stadium earlier in the season courtesy of Tom Hoyle’s header.

The record at Clitheroe doesn’t make for good reading, Witton’s only win there coming in the 2023/24 season but this is another opportunity to put it right.

Kick off at the Loom Loft Stadium is 3pm.

A nice visit up to Clitheroe this week, we are just above them by 2 points but they have a game in hand so should be well matched.

Not heard how Alfie Bairstow is so assume he may still be injured!

Team wise I’d look at

Terry

Cook, Ebhote, Bembo-Leta, Dam Sotana

Dej Sotona, Hamman, Lawrie, Brazel, Edwards

Hoyle

Good luck to whoever plays, bring the 3 points home.
