Very surprised no comments on the England side. Personally I would have played Carroll and Walcott not Milner and Young, but I am adventurous England Manager’s never are. Not sure, is Walcott fit?
WHS.
Disagree young has been by far the most consistent winger for the past 2 years. Welbeck and Rooney play together Regularly and looked a good pairing last at the end of last season. Carroll is very fortunate to be in the squad and at best a bench warmer.
To be fair Young’s having a great game…for Ukraine.
True his cross didn’t create our best chance… Oh no wait
That automatically makes him player of the tournament.
Yes that automatically makes player of the tournament.
Has Parker done anything this tournament?
Has Milner?
Has anyone other than Gerrard?
Apparently Johnson has been brilliant :silly:
And let’s not forget Henderson
No just the odd ball in the face and several kicks in the bollox every game. We don’t need players like that surely

thanks.

Sorry for being the one to break the no swearing policy before the season starts

Can we have players whose lack of pace and talent doesnt get them in the position where they need to block one with their danglers in the first place? Carrick, for exmaple.
Carrick? you are having a laugh, he needs Paul Scholes alongside him to look remotely useful and Scholes is at least 50!!
Good tight performance last night. The competition in this tournament is poor and if we can convert penalties we might even win it. Our problem will be scoring goals against better teams. We must give the two Arsenal lads a real chance to shine if we are to have a real chance and as for Carroll, all these foreign teams are frightened by big centre forwards.
WHS.
Forgive me if I am missing something but Welbeck has been woful in my opinion. Apart from 1 lucky or brilliant goal (i’m not sure) he’s hardy touched the ball. So out of his depth its embarrasing. I would moan at Pritch for signing him! I have to say that my player of this years tournament so far has got to be possibly Steve Gerrard particularly against Sweden and Ukraine. To me its a good job that we have a solid defence and a good holding midfield of Parker and Gerrard who both have put their bodies on the line for the cause. Milner has been poor and has no pace and Ashley Young has been disappointing. What a clearance from Terry. Surely that was a goal? What are those idiots doin behind the goal? Goalline technology??? Thankfully its not part of this tournament!!! SBL
Can’t believe Iam gonna say this but Steven Gerrard has been immense! He has led from the front and carried the fight on his own at times (as an Evertonian I now feel ill).
Cant’ believe anyone is knocking the England players, we have just won the group whilst not losing a game and have set up a very winnable Quarter Final, WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT? :silly:
Can’t believe the negativity of England “fans” at work today! We’ve just had three great results, beat the home nation in their own backyard and finished top of a reasonably tough group with a new manager and alot of new players. I’m always the optimist when it comes to witton and england but the way people are talking today its as if we’ve been knocked out! A winnable quarter final against the italians then who knows, germany the only team that I’ve seen superior to us
[quote=“WHS” post=44501]Carrick? you are having a laugh,

Regardless of what you think of Carrick WHS, he’s been a regular starter for one of Europe’s top teams for the past 5 years. He does the simple things well and without fuss. He’s one of the best passers we’ve got and unlike Parker, they aren’t 5 yards backwards
