England

You got him from Spurs and he is no more than adequate, certainly not an England player in my opinion; United were a shambles in mid field until Scholes came out of retirement. Parker would have had dozens of caps had he played at United, he is without doubt the best “Holding Player” in England. But I agree, we are being negative even when we are winning! I will only say that I think Milner is a weak link and I don’t believe Young should play before Walcott, otherwise I think the team is the right one to take us forward. Italy? In disarray at the moment, but I remember them being in disarray in 1982 and 2006 and still winning the World Cup so don’t write them off just yet.

Well if United are a shambles god help the rest of us

Thats the thing. United might have been a shambles, but it was by their own standards. Carrick has proved himself as one of the top midfielders in Europe over the past 5 seasons. Passing, retaining possession and all these other things that English clubs dont like; he’s great at!!

Parker blocks a shot with his face and he’s word class. :woohoo:

Yes, we won the group, but Italy will show how far behind we are. We may even nick a one nil, but when it comes to PLAYING FOOTBALL, we arent that good at it.

Which showed against Ukraine inspite of 1-0 win.

Exactly. Parker frustrates and we need someone to do that for 90 mins imo, Carrick simply couldn’t do that role anywhere near as effectively and he’s not in the same class as Stevie G so where would he fit in anyway? Hodgson is building for the future, not going backwards, for me Carrick’s best days were before he left the Lane. He’s looked good in a very avaerage Man U side this season.

You might change your tune if he heads back to Spurs as part of the Modric deal :stuck_out_tongue:

Maybe he does for 60 mins then he is on his knees to be fair, but Parker, Terry, Gerrard, Milner, Welbeck are what is great about this England team they give 110% EVERY game (which can’t be said for previous England teams) they are not the most gifted players thats a fact (Rafa style) but when you give 110% then you can match any side!

Carrick was poor last season did alright at the end of season before. Not good enough for united imo when it comes to a big game he disappears. Saying that would do a job for England as international level isn’t as good as champions league or the top half of the prem. If wilshere wasn’t injured he would have started.

Best two sides in the Champions League didn’t make the final, Madrid and Barcelona; best team in the final didn’t win it either, that’s football. COME ON ENGLAND bore the beggars to death like Italy used to do to others.

You could be right there Mookie wouldn’t surprise me, Bale could well be on his way too, both should be playing in the Champions League. Still can’t believe how Spurs managed to self destruct so spectacularly though we should be there too

No Dawson, Huddlestone or King and Lennon missing a lot too. I don’t think either Modric or Bale will go just yet, they might if Spurs start badly under their new manager.
WHS.

Why do you think David Moyes hasn’t taken the Tottenham job? Because he knows that without Bale, Modric and Adebayor Tottenham are set to be a mid table team again, Harry Redknapp helped convince Modric to stay last season but with no Champions League the better players will be off, Tottenham will now take a massive step backwards unfortunately for them.

You may well be right but I take consolation in knowing that Rooney was right when he wanted out of Old Trafford, you are an ageing team with no replacements on the horizon and not enough money to compete with the likes of City, Barcelona and Madrid, in fact even Chelsea may have more cash to splash. I am glad to say that your days as number one in England are well and truly over. Rooney to Madrid in January? As for Modric and Bale I don’t think either will be heading for Old Trafford if they do leave, both will be heading out of the county. Anyway, Portugal are beatable so COME ON ENGLAND beat Italy and set up a semi final date with Spain and then a final date with Germany or the Portuguese.
WHS.

We will play Germany in the Semi Final and meet Spain in the Final

You may know more than me jonny but I wasn’t aware that Moyes had been formally approached for the job yet? IF he is the man that Levy wants i’m sure he will be.

England boys, not Spurs and United, Robbo will be going spare!! My mistake re semi and final, not really interested to be honest, only watched the England games, bored witless after 10 minutes of the other games.

WHS - why comment on something you are not interested in - hope that u concentrate better when u are umpiring or have u lost interest in that now ?

I only know what I have been told and heard from the Everton season ticket holders who I used to watch Everton with (I know this is not gospel but they are usually not far off with information), apparently David Moyes has made a statement to say that he has no intention of going to Tottenham and is ready to bring European football back to Goodison Park next season.

Come on Greece tonight :cheer:

Everton will struggle to achieve Europe next season lots of big spending competion, Moyes has over performed i know but the competition is getting tougher - Who would have thought liverpool would sack Dalglish ?

I am interested in England, just the other countries play boring football which is why our Premier League draws the big viewing figures. I no longer Umpire, I realised I was not very good at it.
