Former Players

he played right back for us last year, not a bad full back really. he left us in summer to sign for droylsden, when we at witton had a bit of a hicup with the chairman and manager. hope that helps.

Not interested…he wasn’t good enough anyway…hope that helps.

Confirmed onHalifax site, a 1 month loan.

He’s certainly making steady progress up the football ladder…

Stop repeating yourself Robbo. Stop repeating yourself Robbo.

That’s an old mans trouble !

Interesting quotes from the Halifax forum
Erm!!!

Are we following in Crawleys footsteps?.. …they signed a few of our players and Vince is signing Witton players

Does that make us Witton MK2
HMMM, who next, my money’s on Brown and Brownhill, in that order.

I will disagree with your order… Brownhill first.

yep, sorry he must be taking them sequentially,

 1. JK, 2. CC, 3. LB, 4. NO CHANCEB) 5. TB, 6. AB, 7. JB, 8. RL, 11, AM.

He’s only missing Warlow and peers at 9 & 10.

There was some other interesting quotes from JV himself a while back reckoning that it “was an unhappy dressing room at the moment and it needed to be sorted”, what better way to sort it than filling it full of yes men.
Losing dressing rooms are always unhappyB)

what they all did at witton helped so show respect for them

Nice to see Tony Jarvis watching the game today. For those who don’t go back that far, he was in our promotion winning team to the Conference in 1991. (I am not sure, but he may have scored the final goal at the Central Ground…I’m sure Chad will correct me if I’m wrong). One of todays’ officials was his nephew.

Tony who ?

He got the last Red Card at the Central ground anyway!!

Think it was Mark Edwards who scored the final goal at the Central Ground, and Tony Jarvis was sent off in that game! Good centre forward, put himself about and scored a fair number of goals.

.

Mark Edwards did score the last Witton goal at the central Ground and Jarvo was sent off, I saw Tony a couple of years ago in Manchester before a concert (yes it was Bruce) and we had a good laugh about his time at Witton. Marks wasn’t the last goal at the central ground though because Frickley equalised I think the guys name was Peach but like TT says I’m sure Chad will put us right.

See that Peers and Warlow were not in Fleetwood squad in Tuesdays defeat Injured or suspended ? and Coo has gone on loan to Halifax.

Will not be long before both are playing across the M62 hills I am sure!

As the old expression goes the grass is not always greener (although the money may be better)!

Still catching up on the last two weeks but Tony"who"Jarvis scored 56 goals in 172 appearances between Jan 1988 and Sep 1991. He did have the “dubious honour” of being sent-off in that very last Central Ground match on May 1st 1989.

It was Mark Edwards who netted for Albion in the first half and “Eddie” also struck the post in the final minute, thus leaving the former Barnsley striker John Peachey to claim the last ever goal with Frickley’s equaliser.

Another observation from this match was that the referee was Ken Mead who has been very much involved over the past years with Congleton Town. He’ll no doubt be recalling the match - again! - when the Bears come a calling in November

GAVIN SALMON (04/05 Season) - THREE GOALS FOR WOODLEY SPORTS LAST NIGHT AGAINST THE LIZARDS - Get Innnnn!!!

macca scored the only goal in staffords 1-0 win at gateshead the other night
