Do the rules change in the close season so that interested clubs no longer have to give 7 days notice before approaching players?
Think Jim is entitled to feel a tad shafted >:(, I had a lot of time for Benny but something doesnt add up

From the Bradford PA site
"Phillips is remaining tight lipped on who his assistant will be, Phillips said: “I have got one or two people in mind but one of them is away on holiday at the moment. I don’t want to be rushed I want it to be the right appointment.”
Its couldnt be another coincidence could it???

HHMMMMM
Worried that our team that Jim and to a certain extent Benny built will be split up. It sounds like the money being offered by Bradford is too good to turn down. I’m not too bothered about some of the players who have been talked about going as some of them would not have ben in my first team anyway!! I’m gutted if Griff has gone as he makes us tick up front. I am a big admirer of MM but got the feeling that a move to another club might be good for him. As for Tom S, Darren H, Ally Brown etc with no disrepect to them they would not have figured in my first team anyway. It’s now down to JIM and this is going to be a good test of his management skills. I’m sure he will be looking at the situation and considering who he is going to sign on for next season. I just hope this includes some hardier players to supplement the skilful lads we already have. We must hang on to these lads but I think Jim has got the majority tied up on contracts. It is worrying though as we know money talks and has by all accounts already!
We just have to hope that the Bradford bubble will burst (sooner rather than later), like the one at Vics will some day!!
Benny Phillips nicks our players suprise surprise!! have we not been here before?. How many times do people have to s***t on us before we learn.
If Benny is tapping up players then that shows what kind of a person he is I am sorry to say. I know it was a good opportunity for him but he is never a manager only ever a number 2 as we found out. The players are at fault as well for going there though, we are trying to build something at the Albion and having visited BPA a few years ago I can only think that its a few quid making the players go there (if they are).
I think we are on the up if we keep Jim and keep the faith.
For me JK, Connors and Lloyd are the key to next season + another goal scrorer (sad to see Mike go, all the best to him).
Apparently JK has already left the club. A bid has been received for Connors, so maybe he’ll be the next to go. Griff is another lad whio i thought had aspirations to play at a higher level, but seems happy to drop a league in exchange for a few extra quid.
Don’t forget though, we have been here before. The team that Ray Ranson had was expensively assembled and highly paid, but acheived bugger all - apart from nearly crippling the club.
Money does not always buy success.
i am getting lost following this thread can someone please tell me who has and who has not left the club. I bet in reality not many have left. (how could they better the set up here)
I am sure that Jim and/or GE will confirm before long the facts regards players staying on with the club for next season. The nature of discussions between the manager and the players means that these should and will take place in private. We’ll know more soon and meantime as I have said before we need to support JV in reaching the right decisions on behalf of the club.
When you see the exodus of players tempted over to Bradford it really does drive home the loyalty that Brian Pritchard has shown this club over the years!
With regard to the remaining players, I think its very sad that they do not feel able to stay and build on what has been achieved this year at Wincham Park. That said they are mostly free agents so it really is down to them.
I am quite sure that Jimmy and Nige will bring in more players and we also have the players who showed their faith and extended their contracts last season.
So overall we can be positive, support the management team and wish those who decide to leave a fond farewell. Remember there are other good players about as Burscough and Telford showed us last year!!
Onwards and upwards
i have just been on the BPA website andf there is no mention of any new signings whats going on can any one comfirm who has actually gone and where to
also has any one got any idea who vince has in mind to replace the amount of skill that them lot had from my point of view there is no body. pafetic desicions vince!!!
Nicely put Stuart.
I dont mean to be blaming anyone i just trying find out answeres and as for blaming jim vince i am not the only one who has posted that onto the forum
There are NO signings on any team’s website as the date for the signing of players is not until 1 June.
Therefore, whilst BPA have enquired about players from Witton, there is always the option that those players may not sign for them, may sign for Witton or may sign for other teams in the Unibond (or elsewhere).
Just enjoy the close season.
Also any ‘abusive’ postings will be either modified or deleted, as is deemed suitable.
Cheers
GE
Calm down boys. The time to panic is if JV left.
I know i am ( clearly an idiot ) for supporting him but put your faith in him and we will be ok.
If u want to get rid of some energy get down to the ground and do some painting or groundwork i am sure it will be appreciated.
We need to get behind Jim Vince, we will lose a lot of players from what I hear :-, Jim Built one team and will build another im sure, we will have a VERY good nucleus left with quality and good attitude, so stay behind Jim and we will be OK
Jim built his first team when Finley left along with Lally, Byrne, etc etc. Then he built a new team when we lost Lloyd, Maynard, JK, Griff, etc etc. Then he built another team at the start of this season by bringing in Barras, Brown, Warlow, etc etc. He can build another team, it may just take a few months of the season to get it to click.
You really need to take a look at certain peoples postings, pathetic, absolutely pathetic. We collectively seem to be panicing because we have lost players. So what, if they have gone for money to a lower standard good luck to them. JV will deliver, he has not let us down has he. He has built two decent and one quality team in eighteen months. Won the Cheshire Cup at the first attempt and this year surpassed everyones expectations. We have the brightest and probably one of the best managers in non league, the record shows that. Stop moaning, get behind JV as CJ and others have said. Remember other teams read our postings so they must be chuckling at the lack of self negativity that we are creating. We have been this season and will be next season a major force in non league. BTW at the start of the season we will be favourites to win the league ( FACT)
Well said Oracle. Any more stupid criticism of Jim may make him want to leave and that would really be a disaster.
Totally behind jim Vince he is great manager. Just feel gutted that after such a great season players feel they could do better else where. Dont think any fans will treat them like we did last season, with there own songs and all.
I can’t believe anyone can question JV - he has been brilliant from day one. If players want to leave us for money - let them, we don’t want them at Witton. Jim will build another great team.
