Groundshare

if northwich shitoria pay up front and on time i’ve got no problem with it.the fans wont come back to support them cos there all watching 1874 of winsford

Sorry to go on about it Robbo and everyone else, I do realise and acknowledge the work done by many volunteers and my opinion on the idea of a groundshare with Northwich Victoria is a purely personal one. I simply believe that in the long term it will cost us more than we gain as Vics regain the support they have lost and draw the youth and newcomers of the town to them simply because of their name and history. But I do accept that our Board will do what they think is right and necessary, I just live in hope that letting that horrible man Rushe back into our ground will not happen. I will say no more, honestly, until the issue is settled.
WHS.

Robbos post says it all for me so we all can have our opinion but the board have to run the club with the help of the volunteers so I’m happy to leave it to them. My last post on it.

£20 to the development fund says you post on this thread before an official announcement is made!?
It would be like Sainsbury’ s offering half the use of their stores to Tesco that is the kind of business decision it is.
WHS.
It is exactly not like Sainsbury’s offering half the use of their stores to Tesco!

If Tesco is cheaper than Sainsbury’s people switch allegiance and vica versa but this is not the case with Witton and Vics. The non league fans in this town don’t swap between the two clubs as if they were supermarkets and thank god they don’t, that is not what it is all about.

So your analogy is pretty crap and to develop this analogy further, Tesco and Sainsbury’s don’t stop people at the checkout and go through their financial background to judge whether their cash is good enough, no if you have the money they take it. It is someone else’s job to do the investigating and judging as they don’t have the resource, incentive or skills to do it.

Why do you only ever comment on controversial subjects such as this, I’ve never seen you comment on an actual match do you ever go to them? Wittoners that love the club are entitled to their opinions without being mocked, whether you agree with them or not.

Looks like 1874 have signed up for another year in Winsford :silly: so I guess it will be v*cs or nothing…
Heard last night from an old Witton friend of mine that Vic’s have paid Witton for the whole season £20, 000 up front. So looks like a deal has been reached and we’ll be sharing your ground next season.
:goal
Typical Jim Rushe Accounting!
100 fans paying £7 each for 22 ‘home’ games = enough to cover the rent, wages and tax?

Deal signed.
Announcement due this week.

Questions for Witton fans -

 1. Are Vics paying what they owe from the last groundshare?
 2. Who is in charge of the stadium, turnstyles and catering huts on matchdays?
 3. If Witton include the rent in the playing budget, what happens when Vics miss a payment?

Question for Vics fans

How can you afford it? how many fans are you expecting to return to watch Vics?

None of your business Joe.

Not this s**t again!

Why does anyone else care? Its between Witton and Vics and nobody else.
Im sure knowing how Mark works he will only have Witton’s interest at heart so the deal will not jeopardise us in any way.
Sick of hearing 1874 fans sticking their noses in to our business, as you all keep banging on how your nothing to do with Vics why do you care so much?!
See you next Tuesday

Very good - but were not my C.O. - you were my brothers.
I worked for the Treasury Department.

For the record, I am an ex Witton player, I featured in the last season at the Central Ground and the first at Wincham. I still work in non-league football and keep a keen interest in the fortunes of all local clubs. I am intrigued to see how this works out.

I have no bias - just want to see everybody being successful, oh… and paying their bills on time.

We are looking to arrange a fans forum at the Social Club next Thursday (TBC). Feel free to come along and ask your questions directly to our chairman.

Not sure you’ll get the answers you are looking for on here I’m afraid.

Not sure wether we will get the answers were lookin for at a fans forum either !

Is there an official line on the previous debt. Has it been written off by WAFC Ltd?

I think our chairman has proven to be as open and honest as can be, He cannot obviously disclose agreed confidential details but I am sure hevwill tell you what he can and that previous debt has been covered in the deal and that there are caveats to protect the club for non payment default etc that should mean our club will not lose out, surprised and pleased its a 3 year deal allows us to at least plan ahead. 1874 I think have missed a trick here in not being involved or talking to their fans about the opportunity but so long as Witton board are happy so am I. Have grave concerns as to whether or not the pitch us up to the job at the mo significant drainage works required I would say. Consideration has to be given to those stalwart volunteers who work tirelessly just to get our own home games on. Games every week will have a significant impact on both the pitch and those volunteers. Any thoughts???

I heard pitch upgrade/ investment has been discussed and they will be bringing some equipment, and the board has already met current volunteers to gain approval ! But I also worry about the pitch maintenance issues.

Prepare for the merger talks in the next couple of years.

Nonsense. Would any Wittoners support that? No. Would any V*cs fans support that? Very much doubt it too.
