1874 fan here in peace.
As much as I can understand the need for Witton to think about their own financial future going forward, I’m of the opinion they should tread very carefully when it comes to the potential prospect of sharing a ground with a club of the well-documented reputation of NVFC.
In the past, Witton fans have been quick to condemn the business practices of NVFC and condemned the same club for the way they treated them during their last ground share, yet now some appear to be considering the possibility of getting into bed with them.
As for us not ground sharing with you, I think the correct and most financially prudent decision was made during the time.
Personally speaking, I would only be in favour of a ground share with yourselves if any deal was right for us, otherwise I’m more than happy at Winsford for the time being.
Don’t go believing all these things those 2012ers “Do Gooders” are saying. Vics are in this for the Longhall. Wait till they find out about some “other” Vics news which is soon to be announced, they will be having palpitations Ha Ha.
I know our £500,000 CVA was never paid off but Vics (2 relegations) and Mr Rushe (bankruptcy) were punished for it. He did along with other partners pay off approx £750,000 out of the debt that Mr Connett left Vics with, Including ALL its football creditors, a large proportion of the tax bill, A very large Utility Bill (Mr C never paid one single Lecky bill) and also the cost of the pitch (50k from Hogkinsons who put in a winding up order against us) plus numerous other bills and charges. This enabled Vics initially to continue playing in the Conference and at the stadium. still not sure what happened to the £198,000 FA Cup money which would have been enough to pay off the CVA but Vics nor any of its creditors (baring I think charlton and lincoln) got a penny of it.
The “Do Gooders” only plan at the time was to leave Vics to be liquidated and start up a new club up “debt free”, which would off screwed ALL its creditors. None of the “Do Gooders” nor any Vics fans were going to pay off ANY of the £1.3m of debt which Mr Connett built up.
As well as Vics and Mr Rushe being punished, the community will benefit massively from Vics downfall and will get two brand new 3g pitches for use the community.and “other” football clubs (Witton, 2012, FCUM and Nantwich have benefited by utilizing items from the Victoria Stadium.
Sorry for any problems you have had in the past with us and the few remaining and “LOYAL” Vics fans will work hard to ensure things like what happened never happen again. We only have about 50 fans or so left watching us, but a few should return if we are back. We have a junior setup with over 230 kids so hopefully we can build on that and get some of the teams and parents into the matches to build upon. Just think of the bar takings if I were there ha ha.
The “Do Gooders” harp on about “morals”. Yet these are people who I gave a £200+ donation to help Vics AFTER promises from its chairman that they would NEVER start up a new club whilst Vics exist. They then kept the money for themselves to set up 2012 with. I only gave the donation on that basis and in “good faith” that it would be used to help Vics.
The “Do Gooders” have been going round saying how we are in £250,000 of debt. 95% of that is the money that Jim Rushe has put into the club over the last three years since the majority of the fans left us and our wages are all up-to-date.
We have had no issues paying rent to such as Stafford and Flixton despite losing the majority of our fans. The rent would i guess be paid upfront with any agreement, so no real risk otherwise it would be no play
Sorry for about all this and any bad feelings this is causing you. I don’t blame you really I mean if we were in your position I would probably not be happy either. So please don’t fall out with one another.
Up the Albion and good luck for the rest of the season
Time for my 2 penneth.
I don’t give a monkeys which green and white s****e we share with, it’s money for the club which is the main point here is it not?
v*ics, runcorn, alty, macc and any other club in Cheshire would all be welcome to share our superb stadium. People are banging on about accepting money blah blah blah and it’s morally wrong blah blah blah Jim Rushe blah blah blah. Who cares? I don’t just get the income stream going, get some water tight contracts drawn up and T&C’s for the payments and one wrong move a bye bye back to flixton/Stafford/winsford/Hartford park.
:clap :clap :clap
Well said that man don’t know what all the fuss is about just need to ensure any outstanding debt from the last time is repaid in full and a seasons rent up front and we are quids in. They will be our tenants, any breach of the tenancy agreement and they are out with no refund. Now let’s talk football for goodness sake.
Dear Colin B my understanding was that the trust paid some football creditors off at the last minute otherwise you would not have not been in the FA cup to have those two televised games (this included money raised largely by your good self). I further believe that Rushe certainly did not pay off £750K at all but merely ratcheted up the clubs debt further, I may be wrong here. In my opinion calling the fans who had had enough of Rushe’s lies and broke away “do gooders” is most unhelpful and achieves nothing.
Until this is confirmed one way or the other I will make no further comment.
WHS.
 just to let everyone know that I have at the moment no comment to make :silly:

Have you just told them?
Is this the stuff in Winnington that was mooted over a year ago? Converting those playing fields to a training area for all the Vics clubs from senior down to juniors? Any progress on that or another pipe dream? I think it convinced the juniors to stick with the club but I suspected at the time it was all b******s.
Does anyone know if an official statement from the club on these rumours is going to be announced and if so when?
Yes the club have announced they are proactively seeking groundshare with local teams, it cannot and will not reveal complete details but it is understood the VxxS are the favourite hence the debate, a formal announcement may follow with more details if we get permission from the league to do this.

No nothing to do with that ha ha
I meant the compensation from Thor for the loss of the VS going towards a pitch at moss farm and hartford campus. Pity if not to late that it could not be all given all to Witton to help develope your Community plans.
I’m not being funny (which means I am) but I think this forum is in danger of turning into the childish V*** forum from a couple of years ago, new posters coming on talking utter garbage. I understand we need the money but do we really need this boring nonsense talk.
You have inherited Colin. He comes as part of the deal. I’m sure you will learn to love his ways.
Quote from 1874’s forum:
“I’d like to wish Witton all the best of luck for their future and for promoting 1874 to the biggest club in Mid Cheshire, morally and financially.”
Haha! Two seasons being a decently-ran club and they’ve already got the moral high-ground well and truly secured.
Remember 1874, you and your supporters spent decades burying your heads in the sand whilst the soul of your club slowly deteriorated… and then what do you do? Bugger off and form a new club!
Biggest club in mid-Cheshire…? Sick of them already.
If club sponsors want to remain anonymous then that’s their choice however Vic’s have a number of sponsors including a very well respected Northwich Business, Castle Tile and Bathroom Studio.
So I suggest you wind your neck in Longman12 and stop stirring the poo pot. nono
I hope we have got it secured. Then I’ll be happy.
Seriously though, you have a point about some head-in-sand burying, though I think you will find a lot of the 74 contingent are people who were trying to fight the good fight from within but getting nowhere fast, and just reached an eventual breaking point. By that time a lot had already gone - see how crowds dwindled from almost 4 figures average home gate in the Conf North winning season down to a few hundred by the time the VS was lost. That was the straw which broke the camel’s back. The demise started long ago with the sale of the Drill Field and there has been a total lack of financial nouse since then, whoever has been in charge.
Clearly, if rumours are to be believed, your Board have faith in whoever claims at the moment to represent NVFC when they say they can honour any deal. But when they are shunned by local businesses (see point above about total lack of any sponsorship for years) I’m sorry but it just does not add up. Maybe there is a shadowy sugar-daddy lurking in the wings (what, another one?) but look what happened to the last one they had a couple of years ago with his grand plans for a Lostock Triangle super-stadium … he disappeared without trace back down his drain-clearance business when asked for concrete details and finance proposals. And while JR still hovers in the background, you have enough past experience to know how good his word is.
You know the value of letting your ground to AN Other FC, and you will have done the sums. For our part we know that your valuation is a long way from matching our idea of what we can sustainably afford at the moment. If that means we are poles apart, fair enough. I’d rather that than overstretch our budget based on a hope of league success etc and then see the bubble burst. Our heads were out of the sand long enough to see that happen more than once.
One good thing out of all this is you have stirred up a bit of interest on two sides of the great divide in town. You must admit, you get a better class of banter/debate/insult out of 74 fans than from the likes of Colin and Dutch. They’ll be hatching a plot to paint at least half the ground green by now …
(Of course, we wouldn’t do that - we’d aim for the whole ground! )

Are you being serious? My gran use to say red and green are rarely seen except upon a fool, so why on earth would we want to paint half the ground green, that would be very insulting.
The only thing that we’d do is put a Vics Shop in the ground, not been the same since the shop closed in town and would be great to have our merchandise on show.
The more I read from the posters/artists formally known as NVFC the more this feels like it is going to turn into a Trojan Horse.
And in fairness Vix are I believe represented by that well known friend of Witton - Derek (one team one town) Nuttall, the only man who I ever heard Tom Stelfox curse.
And yes it is like the v1x forum from a few years ago.
Tom Stelfox - now there’s a legend. 7 shillings and sixpence in the bank when Tom took over and created the best footballing Witton side ever.
If 1874 have also had the opportunity to ground share WP (which I understand they have on more than one occasion) I don’t understand how they can moan about V*cs, or anybody else for that matter, sharing if they haven’t taken the opportunity themselves.
