I’ve just had to check if I’m on the right forum, we’ve actually got vs and14 fans arguing amongst themselves on a Witton Albion website.
You’ve got to hope our great club doesn’t part and form two clubs , this only adds to the case for taking a groundshare and putting money in our pockets.
We own our ground, the only club of the three to do so, we are in charge and enables us to dictate our terms, let’s make the most of it while we can
They moan because they want a first class stadium and pitch for peanuts rent which is presumably what they pay to play at Winsford so given there attitude let them rot in Winsford, I think some of them hate Vics more than they like 2012 Northwich, they think we are in big trouble and are desperate to share but they cannot accept its a business deal and if done right will help Witon progress on the field and control our debts which if they ever get to a decent level and own a superb ground they will learn all about, more likely they wil be at a spruced up Chinkers.
Will somebody wake me up when it’s time to talk football this is soooooooooo boring.[/quote]
Like it or not a very important decision is going to have to be made concerning the future of our football club. You don’t have to post or even read the thread if you find it that boring. Just saying

Like I and Colin B have said, the £250 noted on that webpage will be the money that Jim put into the club to keep it going. This will probably be classed as a creditors loan and could be claimed if the club went into adminIistration or was sold.
Whilst it’s good to have debate and everybody is entitled to their opinion, we’re in danger of airing all of our dirty washing in public again (haven’t we been here before with a certain former striker?). I think the biggest question that we need to ask is do we want to be Witton Albion of Wincham 2018 or do we want to kick on and continue to build on our proud history as Witton Albion FC? There is huge amounts of work going on in the background with the community initiative etc and despite results on the pitch not being fantastic, the platform is being built for the long term.
I don’t think we can question whether the ground share is moral! If another football club is willing to enter a business arrangement with us and it helps Witton Albion, then we’d be silly not to take it further. As long as Witton Albion continue to engage with the local community and businesses in a positive way and continue to pay bills on time, then I think morally we are doing just fine.
Personally, I’m excited about the opportunity that this provides to our football club. We hold a very strong position as the premier team in town and will still be the only team that owns a stadium within the town (regardless of who we are allowing to use the stadium)! I trust those involved will not allow us to be ‘burnt’ again and I imagine that the terms of any such arrangement will be very much in our favour. Let’s hope that this sort of arrangement means that those negative conversations regarding budget concerns from earlier in the year don’t have to rear their head again, surely that’s a huge positive?!
Finally - I can’t believe that anybody is biting at any of the Green wind up merchants that have tried stirring things up! We don’t need to lower ourselves!
The spat between 1874 and Vics is nothing to do with Witton. Nor is the viability of either club.
As long as the money to pay any rent comes from a legal source and is under pinned by a tight tenancy agreement, then there is no issue in that respect.
Ground sharing will enable Witton to progress further and quicker by utilising those funds to support WAFC and will ease some of the pressures on budgets that we otherwise face.
I have every confidence that our Board will assess the situation and come to the correct decision.
We need money to carry on as we are according to well nobody officially
First problem, to me the board are duty and legally bound to present to the shareholders (I don’t care if you think its unfair they legally own the company and in a lot of cases have been there through the last 20-30 years of ups and downs) full disclosure if the club has financial ‘issues’ or is in desperate need of cash, lets be honest if the deal were to net £20k per season its a sticking plaster in the scheme of things and doesn’t enable the club to ‘develop’ or invest in anything it would probably only be used to service debt or pay wages, so its not a case of NVFC coming to our salvation.
Secondly I used the word Trojan Horse, as I think that’s exactly whats happening here, we will be giving our biggest competitor a route to market if you will, by their own words they are looking at being at WP for a couple of years why give them that opportunity to build a local fanbase who believe me if they do well on the field most people will forget all word of the previous debts/club etc. There is also the very real scenario that they will see our weaknesses flash some cash and hey presto we have shared ownership of WP!
Its a fact of life that a team in green and white bearing the towns name will always rise above our own name, regardless of ethics, doing the right thing.
It isn’t a black and white case and obviously I and all Wittoners would choose survival over extinction whoever our bed partners may be.
Time for some strong leadership with facts and alternatives as the rumour mill has gone into overdrive we really are awful at keeping things in house!) and the forum is being hijacked by NVFC spin doctors and 1874ers with a (rightful) grievance.
And if anyone wants a debate with me please message as I said earlier this is my last word on it. (Amen I hear!)
Iam sure in the past we have had topics locked by administrators? Please could we now have this one done? At first it was interesting now it’s just boring! Come Neil, Graham or whoever has the power to lock it
