The answers out there! It’s the other green slime!
Well, let’s take that money off Vics for the next two years, then work something out from there when they go bust![/quote]So I take it you have an alternative answer to meeting our shortfall???
When will this madness end? Small town with 2 teams, even smaller town up the road with 2 teams and they cant muster 750 fans between them for home games.

We had 850 on our own for the play off final. Most choose to stay at home every Saturday and watch sky/bt at home. Then become keyboard warriors when the moon turns full and have a good moan about decisions like this.
Northwich - fast becoming the cherry picking capital of the UK :silly:
Let’s get to the end of this season and not let this distract us supporters from what may be an exciting run in. The team needs our backing to get to a high a position as possible. This squad has done us proud again this season. When the season has come to an end then maybe we can all come up with some great ideas as how to raise extra income to put into the club.
If anyone can think of any way of raising extra income, please let the club know.
Support for this group of players and the management team should not be in any doubt whatsoever. Their efforts and our league position speak for themselves.
It has been a very good season, the players deserve a crack at the playoffs, we could do with the cash - and would be good to show 1874 what a real crowd looks like.
And don’t call me a Troll, just because I don’t worship the ground the board walk on doesn’t make me a troll.
Is this a little short sighted?
We have established last season that Vics do not attract the gates to be able to pay the rent.
It takes the contribution from an outside investor to allow them to meet the rental payments.
What happens when that investor leaves and withdraws his money?
By agreeing to share with them again have Witton done more damage in upsetting some supporters and putting off potential sponsors?
The most obvious ground share would be with 1874 – they are financially sustainable and have proved they can attract big crowds to Wincham Park, which leads to increased takings in refreshments and at the bar. Has this latest deal with Vics put an end to any future agreements with 1874?
Given the way Vics have treated Barnton they will struggle to find another willing landlord – perhaps as soon as this deal is completed it will mean the end for Vics?
We need this grounshare to enable us raise enough money to keep the current quality of players and management. Without it, we will have to get rid of our best players, and this could lead to relegation next year. I believe 1874 were contacted first about a groundshare, but they declined. I believe they didn’t want to put the hard earned cash raised this season into something they may not be able to see through for 2 years. I also believe that the old VICS have received income from some new backers. I don’t know if any caveats have been made if VICS at some point in the future renege on payments, but I am sure they will have been made.
To be fair TT we had a fairly robust agreement in place last time with them and we still had to try and evict them. They of course did what is their modus operandi and weighed in with their legal team. Now once again the club clearly cannot afford the groundshare and again are reliant on an individual funding it. Not that we know who this individual is of course. IF it’s anything to do with Rushe, Mcnally the Vaughans or any of their associates that’s me done with it.
It’s a pretty open secret who it is - they were even present at the negotiations between your Board and the NV official Board, and have said as much on social media.
Question is - why are they prepared to give a club struggling to get 3 figure gates upwards of 50K? Money which another NW club rejected when a similar deal was put to them.
I don’t have the answer to that question, so I suggest you get hold of your chunk of that money while you can, because it won’t last long.
I just wanted to pop on here and thank everyone at Witton for taking Vic’ s back on another ground-share it was ok at Barnton but it was a shock going from H4H’s ground barntons ground our club has thanked barnton for helping us out for this season or we would have been relegated to north west counties football league Division 1. We currently going through conversion to a cooperative that mean we will be owned by the fans and can sell shares so you can see that Rush is no longer in charge and we be run by the loyal fans that stuck by the club through thick and thin I’m looking forward to our move to our new home and looking forward to drinking in your bar again and pushing put the league back where we belong
Hi Joe Reacher , as noted previously, the problem with your scenario is that 1874 are not in the market for a ground share having committed to Winsford for at least another year.
I am not happy about the ground sharing with nv, but i will continue to support my team as i have been doing for over 50 years. I also would say that if all those absent fans had returned at the beginning of the season after we got promotion then possibly this scenario may not have happened. So i suggest that the missing fans forget their grievances and get back to supporting Wiiton once more. The team deserve better support than they are currently getting. UTA
Strange decision imo if fans are staying away because we agreed a grounshare with Vics. Repeating the same mistake isn’t going to bring them back. There are more fans staying away than what Vics will bring. Surely with the new chairman coming in, we should have been saying it’s a fresh start and we’ve learned from past mistakes and we can now move forward together. As for the alleged money issues, I say alleged because if any business is over spending they make cuts. We haven’t let any players go and if we don’t make the playoffs we’ve overspent and that seems reckless.
Easy to say that we should cut budgets, but who wants to watch a team that isn’t competitive with no ambition? I think we have to raise funds to be the best that we can be at the level we are at. Success brings supporters, not failure. If we don’t increase the supporter base over time then we have no future anyway.
Should we not cut our cloth accordingly? The Vics grounshare has kept people away doing the same again will alienate those same fans. Surely our fans should be the number one priority. As for raising additional funds lots of good ideas have been put forward but never tried. I remember Mona had some great ideas but as usual they were ignored. I put forward what Chorley do for their sponsorship get 100 local businesses to pay £200 then they draw a winner and they’re the shirt sponsor for the season. I understand that volunteers are few and far between, but we should focus the few we have into making as much money for the club as possible.
I Dont think we have lost too many due to ground-share tbh, and we have lost some due to issues with the the board maybe more, but the current board must feel it necessary to have the extra income and this league is certainly a much better league to be in in, bigger clubs better grounds etc so on balance I have to say its the right decision, for Me I will just get on with supporting the club UTA
good ideas are one thing - getting someone to take responsibility for putting them into action is quite different. Woody - are you prepared to step up to the plate (if you already haven’t)?
I live in Blyth, so sadly volunteering isn’t viable. I only mentioned previous ideas as people always ask for an alternative to renting the ground out.
