Jim's new job!

Copied from the Guardian’s website this evening…

Vince has another job lined up?

JIM Vince is set for a sensational return to management - six months earlier than he promised.

The former Witton boss will be unveiled as boss by his new club this week, according to one of Albion’s UniBond Premier Division rivals.

Ashton United boss Danny Johnson dropped the bombshell today.

“I understand Jim now feels up to managing again,” he said.

“He is a nice fella and an excellent football manager and the sooner people like him return to the game the better.”

Witton fans will be stunned to hear of Vince’s swift recovery.

He walked of Wincham Park for the second time just 28 days ago, telling the club he needed to concentrate on his health after an operation on his right ankle left him facing a six-month recovery period.

The 40-year-old agreed to return to the club after initially quitting following their play off semi final defeat against Buxton - their second such exit from the promotion race in successive seasons during his tenure.

Acting chairman Mark Harris was so keen to retain Vince’s services that he was prepared to grant sick leave until he felt ready to resume duty pitchside.

Vince declined.

He has since asked the press not to contact him while he recovers at home, a brief statement his released through Harris his parting shot.

It read: “I’m always here to help in any way I can.”

He was more forthcoming when he walked out for the first time, hours after John Reed’s Bucks had sunk Witton on penalties following a 1-1 draw.

Pushed by the Guardian on what lay ahead, his answer was clear.

“I’m going to relax and not think about football for a little while,” he said.

"I’ve been professional in my approach and you won’t see me bounce straight into another job. That doesn’t mean my future is not in football but we’ll have to wait and see.

“One thing is for sure, I’d love to join those supporters behind the goal to watch a Witton match next season.”

Johnson was alerted to Vince’s intentions when the ex-Albion boss tried rang Ian Kearney to offer him a deal minutes after the defender had signed forms at Hurst Cross.

Kearney asked his new employers for permission to chat with Vince, whose interest cooled when he heard the former Radcliffe Borough stopper had already signed Johnson’s contract.

“Jim has assured me he was unaware Ian agreed to play for us,” added Johnson.

“It was a difficult situation and I don’t blame Ian for wanting to hear what Jim had to say.”

7:15pm today

It’s not Barclays that he is rumoured to be joining. But think along the lines of banks and you won’t go far wrong!

I take you mean Bradford, after all that was were all the “Traitors” went last season.
WHS.

The scum person as gone to Halifax in the Unibond North
I hope they realise what they are in for
He as betrayed a lot of trusting people here and will never be welcome at Witton again

So much for his injury preventing him from doing his job as a manager fully…

Two faced b*stard

Screw you jim vince u scumbag traitor!

I think we all really need to move on now, JV was given the resources to win promotion, He failed, He’s gone. Now we have a new manager and new players so lets all start looking at the present and the future, the club need the supporters more than ever now lets get behind the club and move onward and upward

Unbelievable.

I am not the least bit surprised by this piece of news, only that is has taken longer than I actually thought it would. Maybe Halifax are more suited to a ‘rigid’ style of management where the style of play is not altered regardless of who and where the team are playing.

Not a vary classy way to conduct yourself is it??

Loser.

What i will add is this extract from my interview with Jim in the Worksop program, when talking about those players that left Witton for BPA the previous summer;

'Players come and players go and you can understand players leaving to play in a higher standard - that’s progression; but to play for a team in a lower standard just for the money? Well that’s something i didn’t agree with.

I learned alot about the players when they informed me that they were going to Bradford, something that i was not aware of prior to that - and that was that they lacked ambition.

I drew a line under them immediately and planned ahead.'

Wise words indeed…

I just have the words from when Jim came to see us at training after he left the 1st time going round my head.

I can’t believe how much of a ride he took us all for, anyone who knows me knows I’m not a naive person, but JV has made everyone who spoke to him that night look like a mug, and I hate him for that.

He made us trust him, and made us do his dirty work for him in some respects, and in return he has sh*t on us from a great height.

Jim Vince is scum.

Jim, I know that you have been reading the forum and I really hope you’ve seen all of the messages directed at you. I haven’t posted too much on the topic but can’t keep quiet any longer.

I can’t believe how many bare faced lies you told so many of us, and for that I really hope your new job works out as an absolute disaster. Messing the club about with regards to your position was one thing but tapping up so many of the players is unforgiveable. The fans invested so much time and money into you as manager of our great club and I think that I speak for everybody when I say what you’ve done absolutely stinks.

I really do wish you the worst of luck and I hope all of your future clubs realise what a 2 faced snake you really are.

I feel a bit better now, rant over.

Jim who ? Indeed. He certainly fooled this cynical old b**tard.

Quite a few people looking at this thread at the minute - Have YOU

PLEDGED YET ?
PLEDGED YET ?

Anybody fancy a trip to Halifax pre-season? On a day/night the Albs aren’t playing of course…

He has been responsible for doing so much damage to this club, it is quite alarming what he has done in such a short space of time. I hope for the damage he has done, the people he has caused heartache to, that he rots in Hell!

Too many good Wittoners have been forced to leave as a result of him and the efforts he has put in to getting the players to leave is despicable - look out Halifax you have taken on a person with no morals.

Yeah put me down as a definate 4 a trip to halifax. You know what its ok people sayin oh just move on everytime someone s*its on us but i for one wil not move on til ive gone 2 halifax and given that snake vince a piece of my mind! Whats everyone else sayin on this trip?

trip to halifax dont think will prove nuthin to be honest
yeah he has sh*t on us just like benny phillips and dont blame every one gettin pi**ed of about what they are doing.
but it proves they shudnt have been at witton at the 1st place just like the players that have allready left
the only people that deserve to be at witton are those that have passion for the club
nigal deeleys that man

Personally i dont see the point. Halifax have their own problems at the moment, and don’t need us turning up causing any further issues!!

Remember guys, ‘what goes around comes around’.
