Jim's new job!

Yeah im just as p*ssed off as the next person, but i don’t see what going to Halifax to rip jim will acheive apart from costing us money, and annoying people at Halifax. Robbo is right, what goes around does come around…

look i appreciate what u both r sayin but, i wont speak 4 others that r talkin about goin. But 4 me i dont wanna go to kick off or anything if thats what your thinkin. I just want answers from jim as to why he chose to rip the club i love apart. I dont think that is unreasonable. And Im sorry but i dont want to wait and see what comes around to him. I want answers now so i can move on and focus on next season

Dont think we should bother lowering ourselves to his level, after all its all about how you conduct youself!

Goodbye Mr Ego.

Super Super Mike Super Super Mike super super Michael Moseley (or should that be Worthington as well)

Get the best team u can Nigel, lets stay up and welcome his royal highness for the 2009/10 season

As a close friend of Mr Vince, i was invited many times to Wincham Park over Jims tenure and i always thought the fans there were decent people and deserved to watch the entertaining football Jim introduced to the club and making Witton the best footballing team in the league by a country mile but unfortunately as we see with Arsenal in the premier league it isnt always the best footballing team that wins the league, or the most exciting team there were times when the team lacked a little bravery but as much as Jim tried to get the best out of players this is not a trait all people have in the and you cannot begrudge someone for this, i dont think one single one of you fans could argue that during Jims tenure at Wincham Park saw some of the best football in non-league and certainly put Witton Albion well and truly back on the footballing map. However now i see this and you fans wishing to see Jim on the terraces at Wincham Park and to this i ask why so someone can hit him with their crutch i can only assume as fickle fans you didnt take the time to research Jims background fully.

I see a lot of people blaming Jim for the contracts not being put in on time, but Jim had these signed by the players accordingly and passed on to Mr Edgerley to pass to the FA within due course, however these were then sent to the FA 3 weeks after they were signed and dated when the 1st clause clearly states they will be void if not with the FA within 7 days of them being signed…this was obviously a great oversight on Graham’s part and one im sure he would never make again, still this is only human error and no one is actually to blame.

i also see that you are glad to see the back of these players and manager who have left that failed to do this in the previous 2 seasons, yet there are still a number of individuals involved in the last 2 seasons at the club and the failing number 2 has been promoted to number 1…yet this is the answer to all your prayers somehow i dont think it will be but one thing i will say is ‘I wish Nige Deeley and his team all the best for next season’.

you should make accusations when you dont know the facts, the only facts i can view about Jim and Witton are that during his tenure Jim managed to bring a wealth of quality players to provide entertaining football and 2 second placed finishes, yet you fickle fans now want to stab him in the back.

As each and everyone of you read this with your red and white stripped goggles on it may not make any difference to your thoughts but one thing i am sure of is Jim has many fond memories of Witton and this leaves a bitter taste in his mouth that you would talk of him like this but he is a bigger man than all of you and will use those great times at Witton amongst others when right to achieve what he deserves in football and progress as a manager.

Do you always wear rose tinted specs?

The justifiable anger displayed on this board relates to issues you conveniently omit.

Namely the resignation, reappointment and resignation a second time for wholly dubious reasons.
Not to mention his role in luring away some of our best players.

As Gerald the Gorilla put it; “Wild? I was livid!”

Im not going to get into a slanging match with you because 1. i will win 2. i know a lot more than you about the situation.

justifiable anger your aiming your anger at people about something you dont even know about we may as well be talking about nuclear physics…as you know as much!!

There is no need for an arguement Billy because you are talking rubbish. Yes the teams that Jim formed were the best for some time here at Witton but what he’s done since is unforgiveable and done serious damage to our club. No doubt you have been taken in like we were, you’ll realise soon enough when you get a knife in your back too.

Dear Billy,
The facts are these. Our ex chairman made promises which according to Mr. Vince he did not keep. Our new chairman made new promises, and so did the supporters in the hope of getting Mr. Vince back, which it did. Mr. Vince then said he could not do the job because he was recupperating from an operation, and despite being told the job would be kept open for him for 6 months he still said he was staying out of football management for the forseeable future. Less than a month later he is the Manager of Halifax Town and urging some of OUR players to leave the Club. Now, you tell me where we are wrong to think Mr.Vince is a liar and a traitor to this club? Yes, he did give us a team to be proud of, but WE paid for it with extra donations to the playing fund, I put in over £100 myself and others put in FAR more. And he should also remember this, it was Witton who gave him his chance, promoting him from second team coach to first team manager when he had little or no experience at this level. So please, don’t tell us what a nice chap he is, he has cost us a Chairman, several members of the board and numerous players so I think we are entitled to feel a “slight” dislike for the man to put it lightly!!!
WHS.

Correct me if i’m wrong, but by leaving the club ‘because of his injury’ then going to Halifax, AND persuading a number of our players to leave, isn’t it actually him who is stabbing US in the back? By effectively trying to pretty much reduce our club to ruins!
So if i am right, that would mean that your post about vince being a decent man and all else going for him has just gone to pot because it is actually him stabbing US in the back. Thus meaning your post is the complete/mostly opposite to the truth.

After hearing of Jim’s reappointment I contacted him by text welcoming him back to our club. His reply was and I quote “Thanks for your continued support, it’s because of people like you that I returned to the club.”

I Agree Jim Did bring In Quality Players, And He Built A Strong Team, But Now It Seems That He Is Just Trying His Hardest To Destroy It! I Have To Totally Agree With Martin (witton_maniac), I Don’t See How You Can Feel We Are Stabbing Him In The Back!

Sadly it is a fact that when you pay people to either play for, or run your club they invariably have no REAL loyalty to the Club. There are exceptions, Pritch and Nigel to name two, but people like them are few and far between. Let us learn our lesson, don’t get TOO attached to ANY player or manager, they will probably be off faster than Shergar if they get a better financial offer. I bet Mr. Vince is being paid double what he was getting at Witton and that is why he has gone. No more B…t please, Mr. Vince went for the cash and no other resaon. Finally, come back Graham and Phil and Mike, Witton NEED YOU!!

Billy , I’m glad that 1/ You know you will win , as unfortunately that is something that we never had the pleasure of under Jim, Yes we all thought that it is what would happen but inevitably when it came down to it “we” as a team under Jim could never quite make it and why ? well we as fans of the club we could have done and given nothing more and Jim was aware of this when he made his short lived return for the few days untill he realised perhaps that he had already lost several of his players, after who knows ? maybe already touting them out to other clubs perhaps ?
I hope for Halifax’s sake that their fans have plenty of spare cash to spread around because considering the fact that we as fans had to provide nearly an extra 50% of budget for 2 years running , with nothing to show for it they might need to dig deep this year !

Billy,

Shows how much you know then when you state that you know a lot more than all us.

Actually, GE was in Canada as of 3rd May for 3 weeks. JV was asked, as he had been in the previous seasons to complete a task as requested to do so by Directors of the Football Club and he failed to do this. So you can say as much as you want about Graham Edgeley being in the wrong but you couldnt be further from the truth. So obviously you have only been informed of the so called facts from your friend Jim, and not the truth from the people who actually do know what that is.

At the end of the day the true supporters of Witton Albion know who to blame and i can assure you that that is not Graham Edgeley.

So if you want to say any other rubbish feel free but it aint going to get you anywhere.

Billy

Jim manipulated the fans to have the chairman removed (I still haven’t figured out exactly why yet - but I will)
Quick summary of some of his statements - and this isn’t conjecture, I was there when he said all of the following:

“I would manage this club for nothing - I don’t need the money”

“I am a fan as well, I love this club”

“I’m not bothered about the budget”

All three of these statements are bare faced lies!!!

Another quick summary, this time of Jims “achievements” since departing due to his cock up with the players:

Engineering the moves of: Adam Warlow, Mark Peers, Jon Kennedy, Liam Brownhill, Alex Brown, Cavell Coo amongst others away from the club.

Trying to tap up players who had already signed a contract with another club (Ian Kearney, Rod Thornley)

Contacting the F.A to “grass up” Witton over the contract situation.

Moving to a new club 30 days after leaving Witton “for 6 months + due to ill health”

What’s to debate Billy??? Jim Vince is a charlatan, a snake, a non-league Dick Turpin. And the Halifax fans thought it couldn’t get any worse…

Dear Billy or may I call you no mate,
From Abbey Hey [please correct me if I have got the team wrong] to Witton reserves to first team management.Jim didn’t do too bad did he? He had the adulation of the supporters and their respect.Managers come and go so I have no issue over Mr.Vince walking away.It is the underhandedness and deceit that I find most upsetting. He was so open and apparently so honest here.Had he walked away in an honest and dignified manner, the supporters would have given him a grand send off. What happened to the guy?? Has the spirit of “Blackadder” got him? All this deceit is beyond me.
Halifax is a big pond.let’s see how the fish swims there.Just wait and see, wait and see.
Good luck to Halifax.

Great post thhat Greenie, I remember several talks with fans and we all agreed that Vince should stay after his words at training, how wrong were we?!!

Anyway lets forget about Mr ‘Ego’ Vince, after seeing Nige play for the supporters team on sunday and listening to what he has to say, I have every confidence that Witton are going to be alright. We just need to get GE and everyone else that has gone because of JV back so we can build again.
