He’s certainly a north country something.
He’s a Weirdo
And he’s Tellin Stories!!
I can feel a song coming on:
Billy, don’t be a hero,
Cause Jimmy is just a weirdo…
next line anybody?
You’re right Greenie, he is Telling Stories. He’s going from One To Another, and it’s depressing me so much that I Can’t Get Out Of Bed at times.
Jim, How Could You Leave Us? I could search from here to Sproston Green and still not come up with a reason. We truely are Up To Our Hips, but i’m sure if we pull together then Witton will go on Forever. This is not Impossible.
Sometimes A Man Needs To Be Told, and Jim i know you will be Just Looking at this forum on a regular basis, and Just When You’re Thinking Things Over i hope that your whole world comes Crashing In.
Thank You.
Billy, don’t be a hero,
Cause Jimmy is just a weirdo…
next line anybody?
… get your tongue out of JV’s ar5e.
It’s a short song, but it has a “ring” to it
No retort from Billy?
Probably too busy trying to get the knife from between his shoulder blades…
Or maybe Jim hasn’t told him what to write yet?
Billy who ?
Jim who ?
Jim?
Oh, Black Adder [whatever number next one is],the forked tongue one.:cheer: :cheer:
Halifax fans make no mention of Mr Ego on the potential managers list, however they dont even know which league they are in or even who is running their club.
Billy,
Shows how much you know then when you state that you know a lot more than all us.
Actually, GE was in Canada as of 3rd May for 3 weeks. JV was asked, as he had been in the previous seasons to complete a task as requested to do so by Directors of the Football Club and he failed to do this. So you can say as much as you want about Graham Edgeley being in the wrong but you couldnt be further from the truth. So obviously you have only been informed of the so called facts from your friend Jim, and not the truth from the people who actually do know what that is.
At the end of the day the true supporters of Witton Albion know who to blame and i can assure you that that is not Graham Edgeley.
So if you want to say any other rubbish feel free but it aint going to get you anywhere.
GE may have been in Canada as of 3rd May but these contracts were signed 3 weeks previous and purposely not sent in due to the bearing of promotion but upon not gaining promotion the board decided lets stick a knife in our players back and send these in dated 1st May but didnt read the 1st clause, excellent move from the board i must say…
That will explain why the players were bickering over their promotion bonuses, I have it on inside authority that is all they were interested in when the shit hit the fan, JV has/had it in his mind to leave the cleub as he found it but better himself inb the process
Billy, you make a strong defence for the accused and clearly your close relationship with Jim has given you access to information over and beyond that of many of us. I too considered myself to be a ‘friend’ of our former manager, who I spoke with weekly throughout last season and several times a day up to the point he resigned (for the second time). He has made no contact since that day and therefore I would urge you to consider whether his ‘friendship’ with you is genuine or if he is using you as he did many of us!
I, as the majority of fans, gave Jim incredible support during his tenure. Despite the fact that we failed to get promotion two seasons running, the fans were prepared to continue with their support in the belief that Jim was capable of going one better. None of the fans could criticise the quality of football we played over the past two years and this was down to Jim (and in no small part Nigel)!!! That said the fans made this possible, providing around £13k of additional revenue into the playing budget last season. Fans made further commitment to provide £20k into the playing budget this year so that it could be maintained at a workable level. Whenever Jim went to the club or the fans for additional monies they were provided, when he rang wanting £300 a match for Altrincham’s Colin Little to play for us on loan in play-offs we came forward with the cash (although injury ultimately meant that he was unavailable)!
Unfortunately I, like many of the fans, feel betrayed by Jim’s actions since his departure. Much of what has been said may be simply rumour, false allegation or incorrect information, however there is no smoke without fire! Indeed if half the things that Jim has allegedly done carry any truth then his behaviour has been appalling and he has abused the trust, faith and support given to him by the majority of people.
Given your closeness to Jim perhaps you can encourage him to set the record straight as clearly the current situation is no doubt damaging to his own career prospects! Many Chairman will be hesitant to recruit a man that has attracted so much outcry on his departure!
So, when you next speak with Jim can you ask him to confirm the position on the following;
Did he attend a meeting at Droylesden with one of our former players and if so why?
Did he initiate any contact with our players after departure by phone or by text discussing moves away from the club, and again if so why?
Did he advise players that the best ones were leaving and they should move on and if so what was the motivation for this?
Did he suggest to a club official that he would forgo any money the club owed him for the release of one of our players?
Did he make approaches to other clubs looking to line up deals for our players?
Did he stand to benefit financially from the transfer of any of our players to another club and if so is this appropriate?
Did he meet with Altrincham to discuss their managers job at the end of the season?
Did he block a significant financial offer for one of our players only for that player to leave for free, and if so why and was the player told?
Did he fail to get players to sign contracts and why was this not done earlier in the season rather than waiting until the end?
Did he use his operation as an excuse for leaving when stating he needed six months off to recuperate?
Did he not have a position confirmed at Crewe’s Academy lined up despite making the above statement?
Did he approach Ian Kearney, as Ashton United suggest, regards signing for a new club which he is about to manage?
If Jim can reassure people that there is no truth in any of the above then there may be a chance that he can repair some of the damage to his reputation. The above may be nothing other than false rumours, in which case if I were Jim I would be desperate to go on record with a full denial. Unfortunately if any or all of the above are true then it indicates why so many of the fans feel betrayed. In the absence of any confirmation or denial people will make their own mind up based purely on the rumours!
I know Jim reads the forum (as do you Billy)! It may be worth asking him to respond as this in itself will help to draw a line under the episode. As far as I am concerned the issues should now be brought to an end and all of the focus placed on supporting Nigel and the Board for next season. We start pre-season training in a week and every bit of our effort will go into supporting Nige, as far as the fans are concerned we need to forget about Mr Vince. I think we should potentially set up a ‘forum swear box’ where if anyone types the words Jim or Vince it means they donate £5 a time to the development fund.
I’ll be interested by your response Billy, but perhaps you can begin to understand from the above why there are not many Wittoners with anything good to say about your friend at the moment!

That’ll be about £75 then Mr Rabbit!
LOL, about £60 Greg, consider the money pledged!
Have a recount!
The whole thing has been a series of massive cock-ups, half-truths, lies and poor decision making. Lets draw a line and attempt to learn and move forward.
I agree with your post Rabbit by the way and this isn’t having a go at anyone, we are all feel let down by things and find it incredible that anyone comes on here defending the indefensible but we have to look to the new season. Above all else we must learn and start to think about what sort of future we want for the club.
