Liam Brownhill

Has been selected for the full England non-league team to play in Finland on Wednesday 14 November 2007.

Congratulations to Liam.

GE

Absolute class!! It must of been that mis-hit goal he scored on Tuesday night… ;D

Anyone for an away day?!

Not bad for a girl, well done Liam!

Would probably be easier to get to than Dronefield!!!

Big Congrats to Liam.

Well done and good luck Liam

Does that mean we’ll have to postpone games because of international duty?

Brilliant news, well done Liam

Excellent news good to see him get some recognition! Will anyone from Witton be going over to watch the match? It’s slightly ironic after the thread yesterday about Witton players representing their country. This must make Brownhill the 1st Witton England C team international since Colin Rose if I am not mistaken?

Liam Brownhill will be joining us for an interview on the Mid-Cheshire Football Phone-in on CheshireFM tonight from 6pm.

See the other message board post for details;

Spooky or what with us reflecting on Albion’s Internationals on the Forum only yesterday.

I’d like to add my personal congratulations to Liam upon his squad selection and hope that he does thoroughlly enjoy the whole experience.

I’ve posted the link to the lowdown of the match etc from the F.A. website below. Note also that the match is on a plastic pitch

I wonder if there are any inclusions from ‘the towns bggest football club’ to quote the Northwich Guardian, we will have to look hard for this bit of news in next weeks issue.
Anyway, well done Liam, were still looking for a left back down at the Hawthorns if your interested.

Well done Liam, and Jim Vince a masterstroke playing him at leftback? Baggie I don’t think it would be right for Liam to take a backward step at this moment in time

fao Cheshire FM & Liam

What, if any contribution did your cousin Lewis - another exciting Brownhill by the way, who played under Jim for the Reserves before joining the armed forces, have on your decision to come to the Albion?

How much ribbing have you afforded the members of your family who travelled to the match at Sheffield but arrived well into the game and actually missed your superb 25 yard goal? And subsequently what has been your family’s reaction to your England call-up?

Here’s another link to the game, this time actually mentioning Liam. It also shows the squad in full.

and not a Northwich player to be seen!

It is fantastic for the lad that he is only one of two players outside the blue square premier to make the squad.

Just a thought, this is not the girls side is it!!

I think a few chants at Whitby "England’s number 3, England’s England’s number 3"!!!

Not only is Liam the only player below Blue Square level he’s the only North West represenative and one of only two from the North. I’m lead to believe that Paul Fairclough does try to utilise all the squad as well.

Just like to add my congratulations to Liam. I thought he was our player of the season last year, I think he got third place ? He thoroughly deserves this recognition. He came accross really well on Cheshire FM last night too. A genuine nice guy, well done Liam.

I have a few questions about liam brownhill. im just checking out what the quality of the england team is for this interational tournament. would he be a target for some "bigger clubs" if he is seen at this level.

with all due respect to liam brownhill, the english are taking it much less seriously than say the irish.

i’m a supporter of galway united who play in the Irish Premier Division. The Irish Team has been picked from the best league players in the country. why are the players all picked from blue square premier at highest. granted they would run away with the competition if they fielded a proper english league u-23 team.

cheers, and where is witton?

Hi Sean, you will find Witton Albion in the town of Northwich in Cheshire, south of Manchester. Have a browse through this…

Will Liam be the target for bigger clubs? Almost certainly. While of course we would like to keep hold of our class players, if a club came in for him with enough money we would not stand in his way to better himself.

I think you’ll find this is classed as England "C" and all players must be U-21 (or is it U-23? Not sure). I guess it’s England’s policy to choose from Non-League teams for this level.

Good to hear from you, give my regards to Connemara!
