‘loads of good pictures and nice to see Andrew Simpson getting a spot’

The above refers to the V#cs programme.

Makes things a little clearer.

The way the Guardians going I expect to find next weeks Albion news in the Classifieds!

Sorry Andy but while we are in this "God Forsaken League" we have no chance of getting more coverage in the local press, it is the reason why I don’t want to come to watch every week, the opposition hardly ever bring any support of note, it is like watching Sunday League at Moss Farm, consequently there is no atmosphere worth mentioning. I remember getting lambasted for suggesting turning out the reserves in the minor cups last season, the fact is, had we done so we would have been promoted, no doubt whatsoever. In our last game we had non of our regular mid-field players on the park!!! By all means give it everything in the FA Trophy and FA Cup but the League Cup, the Cheshire Senior Cup and the Mid-Cheshire Senior Cup should be left to fringe players and the reserves, let’s get our priorities right this time, only the League matters as far as winning something goes, the Trophy and the FA Cup only matter for monetary considerations, we are not going to win either!! When, and only when we are in the Northern Conference will the local press start to give us similar coverage they give to Vics. Meanwhile I will continue to give £1 a point this coming season, the same for wins in the FA Trophy and FA Cup, but please, please let’s concentrate on getting out of the Unibond Premier League above ALL else.
WHS.

If another 100 odd Wittoners have a similar attitude of ‘i’m not coming every week whilst we’re in this league’, then this league is where we are going to stay. Your £9 through the turnstiles is just as important as your £1 a point.

You are quite Robbo, but my point is that the lack of atmosphere in this league makes going to the games a "chore" not a pleasure. We could, and should have got out of this league last season if our priorities had been right, they weren’t and we didn’t. My wife is not too good at the moment but I am hoping she will be well enough for me to come tonight, I doubt more than a dozen will come from Marine.
WHS.

How many travel from Marine is not our concern. Getting behind OUR TEAM is our concern. And personally i always find watching our team a pleasure.

Only coming when we’re winning is what Everton fans do…

Soon they will also be able to nip in to watch the footy on their way to pick the shopping up from Tesco…

The league we are in is no excuse for poor coverage. In truth the Guardian have given us decent coverage of the press releases we have recently sent them and printed them almost word for word. Neil and I will continue to release these through the club (with pictures where available) to help our own cause.

There is little point in starting this arguement again to be honest. One thing I can tell you is that a Friday Night Football Phone-in is planned for Cheshire FM, this will go out every week between 6 and 7pm. In a ‘606 style’ fans will be able to call in from Witton, Vics and Winsford to make their points. The programme will also preview the weekend games and hopefully will feature studio guests from all our the local clubs, plus the Cheshire FA, referees, etc. There will be no bias on this to anyone club. I will post more details nearer the launch.

Followed by the Indie Show from 7 - 8 ?!?

;D

Greenie, I have been watching Witton for over 50 years, to say I only come when we are winning is a gross insult but not unusual on this site, GOODNIGHT!!!
WHS.

Night night.

makes going to the games a "chore"

After the football we witnessed at WP last season if thats a chore then I’ll do the ironing all day!

Unbelievable Alan, sorry but after your letters to the Guardian which have stirred up so much negative feeling I can’t believe your comments.

Would it be any less of a chore watching us against Vauxhall Motors, Farsley, Leigh etc?

Going back to my original point great team picture and article on Witton in this weeks Guardian…next to the classifieds!

well there we go, WHS is back on the forum and yet again just like the start of last season he is as negative as ever! to say that watchin witton alion is a chore then im afraid you must be watching a different witton albion to the rest of us im sorry! i think WHS you just get kicks out of causing a fuss so you should just saying nothing at all unless you can say something worthwhile! Please!

Messaged receieved and understood.
WHS.

Finally.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, whether we like it or not. WHS should be free to continue posting here - especially without personal abuse from other posters.

We may not like what we hear from certain quarters, but don’t let’s go down the path of a certain other team by shunning people just because they have an adverse view to the majority.

This should be an open forum!

It’s not about sending a message. Alot of people are putting alot of effort in to get people through the turnstiles, and that is all thrown back in their faces when people come out with comments such as they aren’t coming whilst we’re in the league. You have to be realistic, and although we all hope this is the last season we spend at this level, there is every chance we may be stuck here for a little while longer. If we all decided not to watch Witton while they were playing in this league, before too long we’d be debating whether to watch them in North West Counties. And like Andy says, there isn’t really that much differences between the top end of this league and the bottom half of the league above. Enjoy watching Witton, and forget about how many away fans travel.

Nicely put Stu

The drivel that has been printed week on week in the Guardian is laughable, embarrassing and a slight against most other Wittoners who couldn’t give two shiny shites who vetoed who and how soon Vics will go bust. More time spent supporting your own club rather than thinking up new ways to slag other clubs off would be a good start WHS.

Just to make it clear I said the lack of atmoshere made going to the games a "chore" not the quality of Witton’s football. Don’t worry, I will never be an "embarrassment" to the club again, Win or lose I will be missing from now on. Good riddance I hear you say, fair enough, but I would point out that it is only from my missives to the Press that Witton get a mention alongside Vics and I obviously hit a nerve by the many "knee jerk" reactions we got from Vics fans, only one of whom realised I was just stirring things up for fun. I hope for the Club and the supporters sakes that this is finally THE season.
WHS.

Sorry WHS but I Always thought that the reason you posted some of the stuff you wrote you wanted to get a reponse and am sorry to read you are ‘snubbing’ the club both you and I know you love, the whole point of a forum like this is is to discuss, disagree, agree and general let off steam. I know despite the fact I don’t always (mostly lol) agree with you, you do have Witton at heart. and you not too bad a bowler either ;D
