If they get drawn at home in the next round that is. After Witton getting knocked out a long cup run by vics is very welcome from me for purely financial reasons.
postyred, I would withdraw that remark given that Mr Rushe is very happy about going to court.
WHS.
I thought that it was nothing to do with Rushe anymore?
Noel whilst the job you are doing is first class in the social club to wish JRFC a long successful cup run just about sums up this unrecognisable football club at the moment.
To put profit and short term cash and the phoenix rise of your biggest rival before everything else is beyond my comprehension as a lifelong Wittoner.
The job of Managing the Social Club is to make money for Witton Albion, this is done by having the bar open on all matchdays for Witton and Vics plus through the many other nights of entertainment put on by Noel.
As far as im aware being a Witton Albion fan is not part of the job so why wouldn’t Noel want more opportunities to bring in revenue?
“Phoenix rise of your biggest rival”
Do you really think that Jim Rushes private football club is a serious and sustainable rival to WAFC or 1874?
What attendances do they actually get as distinct from the published figures?
I certainly think that given the deep pockets and unique investment policies of JRs mystery backers they will have short-term success and will probably be promoted which will put WAFC in a difficult position regarding the tenancy agreement.
Thanks for the business lesson - much needed that!
I don’t care who the manager of the social club is, they can be agnostic and not interested in football for me, and my earlier point stands Noel’s doing a great job.
My comment was made as a football supporter who’s had to listen to Vix and their supporters claim the higher ground for 40 odd years.
So Matt to clarify you’d like to see JRFC in the FA Cup 1st Round live on TV at Wincham Park because we’ll make a few quid on bar sales?
And yes IMHO there would be a Phoenix effect FROM a cup run. The 3000 people who watched them against Orient aren’t all watching 1874 or us so in the above scenario they’d suddenly get a ground swell of support from the town.
Andy.
Good point, well made.
It would be a shame of Witton and 1874 suffered in any way from Jim Rushe and his football club.
He has had a fractious relationship with many local businesses and the HMRC which we as citizens and tax-payers are having to make up and which I personally find very annoying.
That’s not what i was saying at all, you were having a go about the Social Club Manager hoping Vics would stay in the Cup as long as possible to gain more money.
My point is that Noel is neither a Witton or Vics fan so why would he not want Vics to have a cup run?
I dislike JRFC as much as any Wittoner and imo they should of been kicked out of the Competition but why let that spoil another one of your stupid arguments Andy
Just in case everyone has take total of of their senses, the money spent in th social club contributes towards paying witton’s players.
I a very defensive of this on witton albions behalf.
If fred blogs wanted to hire the club for a fundraiser and was going spend - I’d back that too.
Let’s have some realism here.
I challenge anyone to question me on this in the social club
Just going to throw my 2-penneth worth in here. Noel, the social club seems to be doing great at the moment but I don’t think any staunch wittoner would want to read about any part of our club wishing that horrendous excuse of a football club well in a competition! Should they continue to cheat there way through the competition (as they currently are) this is only detrimental to Witton Albion on a wider basis given the exposure they would receive.
Given everything that happened because of social media with a certain former player of ours, I would suggest removing the ‘JJ’ comment before one of our nearest and dearest rivals gets hold of the comment, turns it around and spits it out into something that it wasn’t supposed to be via Twitter or other Social mediums (it’s happened before).
I don’t think anybody was looking for an argument here but this is a Witton forum and wishing the green slime well, is never going to be well received!
So a forum is no longer a place for debate if your opinions differ?
Okay and it appears that reading is just a place in Berkshire.
My position is simple I do not ever wish JRFC well and I hope they exit every competition and our ground at the earliest opportunity.
As regard the topic it seems there are double standards by the FA but it was held behind closed doors so nobody really knows the facts.

Woah! We need money but we also need to protect the club’s good name and reputation in non league circles which has taken a battering in recent years. Hosting Fred bloggs 100 vestal virgins Paradise party is a step too far IMHO. What next, signing convicted racists?
I fail to see the significance here.
It’s not like Witton can be knocked out by vics is it?
Let’s establish some facts, every time vics play at Witton, they pay. Up front.
We open the bar and sell drinks to all the supporters, both home and away.
The money raised from this pays wittons squad.
If vics win their replay and the away draw there’s a chance they could be drawn at home against a conference North side. Is that right?
Now bear with me because this is where the quantum physics kicks in:
So we have an extra hire of the facilities and the chance of a great attendance.
That sounds like a great deal for Witton. Anyone connected to Witton would be daft to not want vics to have as many games as possible.
Any staunch wittoner who would like t see revenues cut has not got the clubs interest at heart.
Let’s worry about our own team eh?
That tickled me yox.
Pete Sutcliffe wants to open a lorry park on the car park…
The money is all the same colour.
And there in lies the disgusting problem with modern football, nobody gives a s**t about a clubs morales or history, as long as it’s making them money!! Got to agree with Chad here, disgusting!
I think it is a modern society and football problem poor morals and ethics, driven by money I know -Thatcher started it ! but given its where we are and we need to survive in this world then we need to improve our income and without a benefactor, Like many on here I wont be throwing any nice lines to either our tenants or the Winsford teams but using our facilities to earn extra income of them then I Dont think we have a choice, maybe in the future, but really I dont see anything wrong with what we are doing as a club, prefer not to but needs must as the devil drives. UTA
I can see both sides of the argument. We dont want them (green shite) to do well but at the same time we need money coming in to keep the club afloat. What we really need to see is the gates increasing because just under 200 per game is not enough. What do people suggest to get the fans coming back?
Has everyone here always sniffed glue or is today the first day?
Read my post:

There are no good wishes for vics contained within it. So for the final time: A good cup run for northwich benefits Witton Albion.
A winning team…simples
