We’ve been drawn at home to them, with the tie to be played before 20th February.
I don’t know much about them but I think they play in Winsford, and this will be their first ever visit to our town, but I stand to be corrected

Looking forward to this game already hopefully we can get into the final
Assume it will be mostly Ressies and Squad players for this one ? As its only 2012 Winsford were playing. Will you be in charge again Bones.
Just one look at their forum and quite predictably, they’re excited to be playing in the town that they supposedly represent for the first time.
I’m worried in all honesty, they’ll turn up in numbers and no doubt sing all night in their cup final.
On the reverse, I’ll be surprised if there’s any more than 150 Wittoners there and in probability, we probably won’t sing a single song in typical home fashion.
I think something needs to be announced prior to the game regarding how seriously we’ll be taking the game. Obviously it’s the MCSC and nobody gives a toss, but I wouldn’t mind pulverising them… Be funny at least.
I hope they bring the entire bandwagon and drink the bar dry,it’s all money in wittons pocket!
I for one will be going to the game regardless of the starting XI. It’ll be nice to see 1664 come back down to earth.
UTA
Gives them a chance to see what grass looks like.
Didn’t they used to call WP the swamp? Oh the irony…
Presumably admission prices will have to be higher than the normal MCSC game given the extra stewarding etc that will have to be put in place.

I would hope the price stays at £6 for this competition as it looks like its gonna be anything between 500-800 and thats a lot of money coming in not counting the takings on the bar and Tea hut!

Yeah fair enough mate for some reason I thought MCSC games were a bit less than that.
There have been precious few games against either of the other lot over the past few years, so it’s one to look forward to. I do hope someone has a quiet word in Sully’s ear - he might not be fully aware of the history and rivalry yet. Let’s play a full strength team and WIN!!
I wouldn’t blame the club for keeping it at £10 for this a one. Its as close to a derby as we have, will be well attended and as Paul says, will need extra stewarding as well as other volunteers.
May not be my place to say this, but I for one would blame your club for charging £10 for this. Quite honestly that would be ripping off local football fans (on both sides - but particularly your own if you are planning to field a “weakened” team). It smacks of the money-grabbing attitude we have come to know and love from higher up the footballing pyramid.
Incidentally, not sure how many extra stewards you think are needed for our placid fans, nor how “volunteers” incur additional expense.
I think upping the admission will stop fans that may already be in two minds about going to the game from turning up.
In the last round at home to Barnton we were told on the day of the game that it was going to be £10 which disgusted me and we got several tweets from non league fans of various clubs asking how we can charge full price for a reserve team game in a local cup match, eventually the club backtracked and set the price at £6, i believe both clubs must be in agreement to set the price and hopefully both will realise they will get a larger crowd at £6 than they would for a tenner!
If we charge £6 then people will probably spend more in the bar and tea hut, lets face it the Mid Cheshire Cup games usually hardly bring any revenue in yet now due to the luck of the draw were facing 1874 for the first time ever and its getting people excited, this will be our biggest gate so far this season and im sure many people from Northwich who are neutrals will come along too if the price is right.
keep it at £6 its not a first team game and we dont want to be accused of ripping off fans

Agree completely with what you say but read on their site that a lot of their fans wont be drinking in the bar and will be going to pubs elsewhere instead as well as not using the tea hut.
Why are they not going to spend at our ground? Why should they have anything against us? We have never played them and they are from Winsford. They are not our biggest rivals. 1664 Kronenburg, you make me laugh.
Don’t know I’m just going off what I have read on their forum. Think it is probably their older generation ex V*cs fans that have never liked us and never will do, no matter how welcoming we are to them.

MCDFA RULE 4 states:
4. ADMISSION CHARGES
Normal charges for the ground being used.
Any changes to be agreed with this Association and the opponents prior to the match being played.
Given the fixture and rivalry, I think we should field a normal strength team (unless there is an absolutely compelling reason to the contrary - eg fixture pile up) and look to win the game and progress.
The argument about changing prices to reflect this competition is a different one. Historically, these games have not been well attended. Mid-Cheshire FA should take the opportunity to reduce prices and get as many people to the game as possible. This may ignite some passion again into mid-Cheshire football, as well as maximising MCFA’s cash value of the game.

Course its your place. Its a public forum.
Re volunteers, i’ve volunteered sporadically in the past, and I’ve done it because it helps the club. If you know your efforts are going to benefit the club and help it in bringing in funds you’re more willing to do it. If I was asked to do a gate on a night the away fans had stated they wouldn’t be spending a penny in the bar, at the teahuts or on a programme, i’d be less inclined. Although only going off what i’ve read here.
Personally, I hope its £6, in keeping with the games in this comp so far, but if its true that away fans are deliberately boycotting spending any money in the ground, then stick it at a tenner and get all we can.
