Nantwich Town v. Witton Albion(Cheshire Senior Cup Second Round)

Witton take a break from league action on Tuesday night when they travel to Nantwich Town in the second round of the Cheshire County Senior Cup.

The game also means a quick turnaround for the two teams who locked horns a week ago at the U Lock It Stadium in a league meeting.

Witton go into the game off the back of another defeat at the weekend, but the Dabbers had a blank day due to the weather preventing their game from going ahead.

Tonight’s game is Witton’s first in this season’s competition as they received a bye from the first round but the Dabbers overwhelmed Runcorn Town at the Swansway Stadium 10-1 to set up tonight’s clash.

The competition can provide a welcome distraction for Witton as they continue to battle their way through a difficult period where results are not falling too kindly for them.

It also gives the management team the opportunity to shuffle their players, and give important minutes to players who might not have featured regularly in recent weeks.

Nevertheless they will still want to put in a performance and hopefully get the right result.

Kick off at The Swansway Stadium is 7.45pm.

Having missed the last 2 games due to holidays I am actually looking forward to this one. I hope we don’t mess about with the team and try and win it with our best 11 out whatever that is lol.

A win may just give us a bit of confidence and start us on a run that we need desperately.

Good luck whoever plays. UTA

Understand that there will be two enforced changes from Saturday as Matt Lowton and Brandon Newell are cup-tied, having played for Stockport and Stalybridge in the prevous round.

Brandon Newell didn’t play for Stalybridge in their tie against Winsford in the previous round. However Matt Lowton did play for Stockport County against Tranmere Rovers.
