Witton Albion Football Club have confirmed the signing of former Queen’s Park Rangers, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur & AFC Liverpool midfielder Freddy Champion. It is hoped that he will be available for selection for Tuesday night’s game against Marine.
Looks like a holding midfielder/ball winner which we certainly need to sure up the defence. We could do with a couple of attacking midfielders in addition as I agree with posts on other threads that we are seriously missing Bauress and Owens quality.
Just a small point but I don’t think Freddy has played for any of Chelsea or Tottenham’s senior teams but after some research I see that he did play for Spurs under 18’s. Many thousands of players have had trials at both clubs and the message is a bit misleading. If we had signed Bale or Modric I would have agreed we had signed a former Spurs midfielder. I must be getting old but this is just a bit of a pet hate of mine.
Anyway welcome Freddy UTA.
Welcome Freddie, let’s hope he can do those skills when a 6ft non league clogger is on Him ! We certainly need quality players so let’s hope he can make the step up from AFC Liverpool. UTA

What even is the situation with Freddie? Not even seen him once at a game or even on the bench.

Maybe a fans meeting with the manager would
we don’t need a meeting on it. Just try asking the manager when you next see him. He will answer you if you speak to him!

It’s called good PR don’t you think???
We’re mid table had a fantastic season last year and had a few bad weeks.
Yet we are talking about a meeting with Carl.
Seriously am I reading this right.
This is the man who cane in two years ago and turned us around.
At times as a Wittoner I feel frustrated I really do

Think you’re missing the point Charlie.
I would have taken 10th at this stage in the season any day of the week and I back Carl and the club 110% and always will. We are just about where we should be currently IMO. But…to say we have signed a former Spurs, Chelsea and QPR midfielder (very questionable statement with somewhat random supporting video on this website above to boot) and not to have heard a word about “Freddy” or his whereabouts since said announcement is incredibly bad PR by the club. UTA
Freddie has been spotted, he was riding Shergar down Chapel Street last Monday according to my mate Lord Lucan
I have to say our PR is not as good as another local team. We need to step it up big time if we want to stay ahead of them especially as the local press are very much in their court. We should be sending reports to them every day of the things going on at Witton because I know there is a lot going on behind the scenes.
WHS.
The information at the time was relayed to me from the club so I acted upon it. What has happened since I have no knowledge of.
Not your fault in the slightest Derek, you do a great job passing club info on. I think the fans frustration is that the club said Freddy had been signed and was available for selection for a game over a month ago but (as far as I’m aware) no-one has ever seen him! Then again I refuse to believe Elvis is not alive I’m sure I saw him in Sainsburys once B) UTA
How utterly ridiculous, I saw him fishing on the canal at Barnton at the same time…

Is he still there? Must be catching some big uns by now
Would like to think this new signings section of the forum would be busy these next few days bringing in new players .
