Northwich Guardian

Surprised nobody has mentioned the joke that is the Northwich guardian today… Vics are playing FCUM at home on Saturday in the game that will apparently change the Club forever?! FFS it’s not the real Manchester United, has nobody told them this?! It isn’t even Sunderland.

Why do Witton once again get near-zero coverage?! Do we not have a game on Saturday?

I’ve never really bothered with the Guardian, the Chronicle gave us and Winsford better coverage.

V*cs can shove the Guardian up their arse.

I’ve got used to it, it’s always been that way during my life time and I can’t see it changing anytime soon. Even (Mid-)CheshireFM plug Nantwich more than they do us and Winsford.

Had a look at the Guardian this morning, totally agree Robbo its the same every week though.

Well the sports editor obviously supports them so do we expect anything less, it’s a joke and complaints fall on deaf ears. Best thing to do is not buy it and just wait till a new sports editor with impartial views comes along .

It’s to be expected when a Vic’s fan is the main sports reporter!

I hardly think this game will change Vic’s future the 10-15K they recieve from this will not make much of a dent in the 500k tax bill.
Although no doubt Jim Rushe will keep FC United’s half of the gate receipts for the next 12 months and make the fans bail them out again.

I doubt the gate will top 2,000. Vics fans are dwindling fast, they see what is coming, bankruptcy.

Yeah - but wouldn’t it be nice if WE were able to get 2,000 for our home games… :frowning:

on saturday the crewe alex stewards were asked if they wanted to volunter to steward the match, tight arses, i told them to piss off

Don’t forget they cannot recieve a penny piece of the F.A cup prize money whilst in administration. On that front it’s all gone a bit quiet even in the Vics Gaurdian, surely they will have offered another couple of pennies in the pound over another couple of years by now in another grand gesture to rip off the taxman (AGAIN) what a joke!!

They are expecting 4,000+ on Saturday, God knows how many police and stewards they’ll need for that lot.

They are expecting 2000 max.

And how many umbrellas?

FCUM asked for 1000 tickets, so 1000 expected from there.

Plus Vics’ usual 600 and a few hangers on…

2000 sounds about right.

Is the end finally nigh for the folks across th canal? No news is good news they say, but good news for who, us or them?
WHS.

One of these days WHS you will be right about V*cs coming to an end…

You say it that much you’ve gotta be right eventually :stuck_out_tongue:

Joking aside, I reckon about 2000 sounds right.

Have never thought much of the reporting of Witton games in the guardian.Cant get the chronical down here across the border. So have to make do with getting local newsagent to order the guardian for me :frowning:

Unfortunately StevieG, nobody can get the Chronicle anymore as they’ve stopped printing it.

Ok,I have been one of Andys biggest critics in the past because the Guardian made a decision some time ago that they were going to treat NVFC as the number 1 team. The reason for this being that they play in a higher league and have more support, these facts you can’t argue with.

The website of the guardian is a big facture in this, NVFC get far more ‘hits’ than we do on stories (some may argue because they get far more stories) I have asked Mike and Steve to include a link to all Witton articles on the Guardian web site, and since then I have noticed we have started getting in the ‘top ten hits’ far more often on the main page.

The way to argue we need more space is not to refuse to read but to click on the link and prove that we do have a strong following. In my dealings with Andy Simpson he has proved to be very accomadating, we have in the past been guilty of giving him very little to write about (maybe we run things too well) but to be fair he has always prnted what we have given him. So in short, click on the links, boost the figures and lets see what happens.

I actually don’t think the Guardian’s coverage this time is disproportionate to the size of the game!

It will be (fingers crossed) the biggest crowd at the Administrators Stadium this season for a football match.

The only irony/conspiracy with the Guardian this week is the front page headline ‘The Future is Green’ which isn’t about the local parasites, but about the local asset strippers(Brunner Mond).
