So BEFORE Connett took over then?
Make your flippin mind up!!!
Both things contributed to are financial turmoil. Remember Connett had the option of staying at the drill field and carrying out repairs but instead he wasted millions on a stadium we couldn’t afford at the time or to pay the rent on in the future. No wonder he was desperate to attract gates of 1700 to pay the rent which the stupid man should have realised would only be acheived if we were in the BSP Play offs not near the bottom and getting gates 0f 900 - 1000.
Let’s put this straight, things started to go wrong when we left the drillfield and flamin Connett spent millions on things he couldn’t afford. I and all Vics fans who have been through the worst no longer trust any chairman running our club. I don’t think Jim Rushe is anywhere near as bad as Connett but since he’s come I’m afraid he’s totally mismanaged the club’s finances. Allowing Dino to work on stupid transfer budgets, splashing money into the club he knew he wouldn’t be able to get back (that’s why he asked the fans to pay the player wages and once again thinking along with Dino that we could go up to league two.
He simply didn’t face the cold hard facts that were a small club with a stadium we couldn’t afford and a good season is survival in the BSP. Many Vics fans feel that reforming could be the best bet, say in Unibond one like Halifax. At least we would be run by somone we can trust and can negotiate deals for players of a unibond ability and afford to pay their wages. If we started winnning matches even at that level we could sustain gates of at lesst 500 - 600 and maybe eventually of 900 - 1000 again.
I see the V**s had another unlucky defeat again. I bet Weymuff scored 3 lucky goals:laugh:
nar, more like bad officals,
But didn’t they manage to draw the second half?
The Dwarf King must do a good half time team talk or maybe Weymouth just didn’t want to mock the afflicted:)
Just been told that Vics fans are protesting this morning. They are at the end of the road near their stadium !!
their stadium???. never has been and never will be.
Yeah just drove past them and gave them a cheer “WITTON” I think they appreciated my support/contribution but not sure:unsure:
As the man said on his board, “THE END IS NIGH”.
WHS.
Very good, I feel a bit of legal action pending on that one!
i dont find it funny, actually i find it disrepectful to mr connett
just my oppion mind.
You have to admire how stylish that is. Superb!
Valid point too, about who gets to own football clubs applicable to any league.
If my memory serves me right didn’t the “Death Star” blow up a planet before it got destroyed? Beware Vics I think you may be that “planet”.
WHS.
If you’re going to go to all that trouble, surely you’d spellcheck it first?!
Isn’t Rats Wars appropriate?
I find it difficult, no, impossible to believe that in the current finacial climate their are REAL businessmen willing to buy Vics or the Stadium. What do they intend to do with either? One is in the middle of nowhere and the other is going nowhere.
WHS.
Vics 1-0 down at Woking
As I was posting, now 2-0 down!
