PRESS RELEASE - NEW MANAGER APPOINTED
Oh dear! it’s up to you where you spend your money ATH, of course, but that smacks to me of childish behaviour if you’re not getting your own way. Personally, I don’t like the orange away kit or blue shorts
Then you should do what the others do stamp your feet and say you’re not going again

My gast is truly flabbered.
Welcome back Carl you were a fantastic player with us.
I’ll bet there will be another meet the manager forum for everyone to ask questions of the new manager in the coming weeks. We’ve had so much practice at them they virtually run themselves now.
As this is such a controversial issue I’ll leave it at that.

All the negativity on this forum has been brought about by poor managerial appointments where gambles have been taken but haven’t worked out. Anxiety and poor results breeds negativity within any club that’s what football supporters are about. For the sake of our club this has to work, we have to hit the ground running and climb that league. For those supporters that wanted Pritch back at the helm (and I was one of those) they have to let that go and get behind the appointed management team, we cannot survive yet another split fan base. A couple of wins and the forum will make for delightful reading UTA

Did I mention it’s the comedy club this Friday night AND we’re getting 2 cask hand pull real ales installed? Tatton’s best and their seasonal Yeti?

Every managerial appointment is a step into the unknown and carries some risk. The interview panel tried to mitigate that risk, but it cannot be eliminated completely.

Carl is a good guy, lots of experience, knows the club, knows the league and was a top non league player. I don’t know what happened at Marine, if there were any underlying reasons why it didn’t work out - but our management team are prepared to accept what happened and put it by.

We all can’t make the decision. Its not a democracy ! We have to accept that a group of directors have made that decision on our behalf, support it and get on with it.

Carl deserves the chance to at least show what he can do, so lets wrap up the negatives and jibes and support the guy who is now in charge.

UTA !!

This coming from a grown man who said he would never use this forum again, because people had different opinions to him

The vast majority of us wanted pritch to come back but he hasn’t so we’ve got to give Carl support in what’s becoming a poison chalice of a job.
Just a thought though! Let’s say pritch did get the job and won one out of his first ten games? Would we be calling for HIS head?

Pritch was/is a legend but sometimes you have to keep the fond memories and look forwards not backwards…the second coming is not always as good as the first (ask my Mrs!!!) look at the late Howard Kendal, Kevin Keegan, Kenny Dalglish, José Mourinho…

I am a little saddened by some of the comments about the people who put in the most for this club - “Never was so much owed by so many to so few”

How can he know this league if he’s never managed in it?

He’s got a below average pedigree and players who have played for him don’t rate him.

You sheep need to stop blindly following the board and the consistent bad decisions it makes. This club is always been held back by those who sit in there. They’ve driven away good volunteers and good investors.

Time and time again the club keeps making the same mistakes and is a shadow of its former self. I’ve been to every game this season but I’m done

And of course you would make perfect decisions every time UTH mooney

After Pritch quit Anthony Sheehan was appointed after under his caretakership we were THIRD IN THE PREM, it didn’t work out. Sully seemed like a good appointment to me he was a good guy with a passion to do it for us, it didn’t work out. Scott Dundas seemed like a very positive appointment after his expoits with Norton the “entourage” seemed good too (strange that Norton folded mind I thought) sadly that didn’t work out either. Carl was a brilliant player for us and needs support as our latest manager. If you are “done” fine it’s a frustrating time but just who would you appoint?

Brian Pritchard

I wouldn’t keep making the same errors time and time again and I would keep listening to idiots.

Mark Harris and the majority of that board need to go.

And who is going to replace them??

You???

Put up or shut up .veryangry

this forum needs to go. its embarrassing. i know people should be able to voice their opinions but this is a joke. the amount of work, money and effort that the chairman, board, ground staff, volunteers, everybody who does something for the good of the club - and all they get is people on here saying how it should be done or by whom. I dont know all the facts but I do see people putting their hands in their pockets and throwing money into the pot to keep the club going. There are people working their arses off, Tracey walks round in all weather getting money for the ground, People love the club. It is a family with a great history and it could have a great future. People need to stand together now. We may not all agree on who shoud come and go or how things should be run. We will never all agree ever but we should be there for the club now not throwing our toys out of the pram. There will always be people at the club that people dislike and dont agree with. believe me I still detest Derek Shirley and Rod Price 20 odd years on, but its still Witton at the end of the day and if you are happy to walk away and stop coming because you are not happy with some of the decisions then you are not a witton fan. thats vics behaviour. not us. so get behind what ever is up ahead of us and lets pull together. UTA xx

The forum has its good points but we all need to support the Board, Management & Players more so than ever.

I dont get it, I support Witton Albion regardless of what division we are in, who the manager is and who the chairman is its “my club” I might not like a chairman or a manager but I dont care what they do or say because I support the Albs and I know that all managers, players and directors leave eventually leaving us fans to carry on. Echo many others on here We need to get behind Carl for the good of the club.

The point CJ is that there comes a time when you get tired of being fed bulls##t. How can a man who is nothing more than mediocre as a manager get the job over someone who has won us promotion recently. This shows me that the club have zero ambition.

But this isn’t the first time we’ve been here. We weren’t exacrly jumping for joy when Harris let the slime share our ground. And we are not seing the benefits from this extra revenue as we can’t seem to attract many decent players to the club. We are going backwards under Harris and this board and nobody can deny that. We are likely to be in a relegation battle based on current form and we’ve got a manager coming in with not an ounce of success to his name. But you lot on here just go through the same old motions.

FYI Matt Cat - if I had the money to buy in I would put up. but to be honest looking at the pedigree of those making decisions for our club I’d rather work with chimps than work with them.

I stopped coming on this forum a while back because I grew tired of certain gobshi#tes not accepting anyone’s else’s opinion. And yet here we are again. You know who you are and you are welcome to the club.

Breaks my heart to walk away but I’ve got no faith left in anything to do with Witton Albion.

I don’t think that anybody can deny that Upthealbs has made some of the most sensible comments on here for a long time. Calm, measured, factual arguments.

Of course we are all Wittoners, and of course we all care. But simply nodding along to every mind-boggling decision that the board makes does not make you a bigger more loyal Wittoner than those that speak out against these decisions.

If people feel they have to stop coming to games and following the club then that shouldn’t be criticised. It should be highlighted as the absolute tradgedy that it is. Nobody should be made to feel that they don’t wish to spend their Saturdays doing something that they’ve previously loved.

I loved Carl as a player, and on that basis i hope that he does well. The facts do suggest though that he has very little pedigree as a manager. And he is being asked to perform miracles to rouse us from our current slump.

Its a hard task for anyone.

I understand that the budget we currently have is bigger than all but a handful of clubs in this division - yet we’re languishing in an awful position in the league.

The budget we began the season with was significantly larger than that which Pritch had when taking us up, playing some of the best football we have seen in a long time, and providing us with a very good FA Cup run.

Yet he was interviewed for the manager position last week and lost out to somebody who’s most recent managerial record reads ‘played 36, won 5’. How does that happen? He interviewed better than Pritch? So we don’t go on ability as a manager now, or what an individual can bring to the club, we just go on how well they answer a series of questions? Blimey, a few of us could have got it on that basis!

People can’t be criticised for asking ‘why’. Its a natural reaction, especially after asking ‘why’ when the last 2 managers were apponted, and seeing those fail miserably inside a matter of months.

I’m still curious as to why we put out an inaccurate press release that claims Carl took Vauxhall to promotion? I hope he wasn’t appointed on that basis!!

So whether people are going to matches or putting money into the club, is irrelevant. If they are on here asking ‘why’ then they clearly care. You don’t have to go to every game to be a football fan. You go when you can, or when you have the inclination to, and you put your hand in your pocket when you can or when you want to. Thats football at ANY level.

People care though, and that why we are all on here ranting and raving.

I love Witton Albion FC, and i have done since i was a kid. I’ve seen highs and lows as much as anybody else has. But i have never know a point in our histroy where so many people - GOOD people - have been pushed to the point of generally not giving a toss about this club. HOW has this been allowed to happen? Why is nobody associated with the club trying to turn this around?

4th in the Premier division to this inside 3 seasons. Only at Witton.

PS - Good luck Carl.

UTA and all that.
