Re:Gary Finley - do the decent thing and RESIGN

Totally agree, we have no team we have a team full of individuals and who’s responsibility is that

GARY FINLEY

I was the person who donated a 5 figure sum to your playing budget . Tell me , How are you going to get on next season without that kind of support ? Because while your there Im not paying it anymore. 15 league defeats is not good enough by a long margin Gary , you’ve lost the dressing room and supporters. Not all your fault some players are not even Mid cheshire Sunday league standard some lack the basic skill to even trap a ball . Walk away Gary . enough is enough

:cheer:
The best page on this forum I have seen in a long time

Fully agreed with everything above

NOW WALK FINLEY

Fully respect why this has been brought up. But do we need to wash our dirty linen in public? I’m sure Gary knows what people think of him, is it necessary to splash it on the internet?

Fair point Stu. We should have gone up this year and we haven’t, I just think we should let the Chairman do what he thinks is best and not stir it up on here.

Totally understand your frustration though

frustration is not the word, shambolic best describes wittons position. the manager is to blame, we had the players to get us out of this league, but his selectin and tactics throughout the season were inept to say the least. how can you keep leaving our top scorer out of the team(look at the goals he’s been getting since leaving us) for the sake of us fans please finley resign, you have totally failed here. don’t drag us down anymore.

After seeing that we had a hefty defeat, alls i can say is: What the **** went wrong?!
I tried to be one of the more patient fans in giving finley my support. I genuinely thought we would’ve been able to bounce right back up considering the league is dire and we’d be one of the bigger clubs with bigger wage budgets.
Cue finley cocking a seemingly straight forward task up, well done to him! The numbers of fans backing him are surely dwindling by the day, we can’t carry on like this. If he doesn’t leave it could potentially have a long lasting detrimental effect on the club, i.e we stay in the league, lose supporters & revenues etc.

Something has to be done surely? If not for the fans, for the clubs sake?

Rather than personally attack him on a public website, why don;t you go and talk to him to his face and discuss it with him. I am not comfortable with personal attacks on here. Some comments are too vicious (from certain people) and thats not fair on anyone doing that!!

I dont think walking up to Gary and saying ‘please resign’ would be the wisest idea!

I think the most important thing now is for the chairman to realise that the vast majority of fans no longer want the current manager to remain in charge.

I’m not sure if there are other ways of showing our displeasure without hurting the club? Perhaps standing behind the away goal on Saturday during the first half as a demonstration? Not sure…

I can’t imagine what you would say to Mr Finley if you went up to him and asked him face to face or the reaction you would get!!?? I do feel for the future as if he is kept on I can definately see some of the fans staying away!!

I am as upset as most of you but to keep moaning about the manager is a waste of time. He is on contract, unless he chooses to go he will be our manager next season as we don’t have the money to buy out his contract. I will watch as many games as I can next season whoever is manager and whoever is wearing the “Red and White”. I am a Wittoner, and so are you, you CANNOT walk away from that, believe me, I have tried!!!
WHS.

WHS We understand we cant afford to sack him
which is why this page is asking him to RESIGN

Wittonrobbo,
As I have said on the forum, why would he resign? At present he can be viewed by all football teams in the North West as a failure, so who would employ him? If he stays on and fails again, it doesn’t change his position; but if by some miracle we have a successful season under him next year he will be viewed as a genius. Football Managers are vastly overated in the main, no money, no players, no good!! Very few managers do a good job without money to buy players and anyone with a smattering of football knowledge can spot good footballers. Messi, Torres, Rooney, Ashley Cole, Gomes, Gareth Bale, Ballack, Gerrard, Terry, King, Lennon. That lot should win a few games, just give me the cash to buy them, they wo’t need any coaching that’s for sure!! I’m sure you could come up with a team to match mine, but you need cash to put it together and we ain’t got any!!
WHS.

which are all valid points which you have allready previously stated else where
and i agree its very doubtful that he will resign due to the fact most teams must see him as a waist of space and he will not get another job

but this page is for those who do want him to resign as i for one am one of them and everyone understands the financial side that we cant sack him so surely we dont need that brought up any more as everyone understands it
If enough fans feel strongly for his resignation and show this on a match day and make the last game hell for him maybe just maybe who knows he will just go

Not sure I agree about the money issue. How much are the other clubs spending compared to Witton? There cant be many with more cash. He has failed not because of a lack of money but because he didnt get a decent team together just like the last time he was here. He played people out of position, changed the tactics every week and left the leagues best striker on the bench for most of the season. That doesnt need money.

agreed
and half the fans made there opinions fealt when foster was being left on the bench
and as soon as we started shouting for him he put him on
that also is poor managment for one leaving him out of the side
and two not keeping strong over his decion to leave him out and put him on when the fans rebelled against it

There are some things he has done which he has done ok, such as build a team from three players that he got left with this season
but there are just some things any one in the world could have done better

We could do with a manager who would stay with us for 15 years or more and be loved by the fans, run the team, paint the stadium, cut the grass, mark the pitch out…

Any suggestions ?

Has to be you Eli or WHS?

If Pritch has any sense he will steer well clear of becoming Manager, ask Migel Deeley!!
WHS.
PS I know what the thread is about, I was just pointing out why Mr. Finley would be mad to resign, with your livelyhood at stake, would you?
WHS.

Was referring to someone similar to the legend Roly Howard who used to manage Marine WHS !
